    • Planet Janet Rules   07/07/2015

General Rules for Planet Janet Welcome to Planet Janet! The main objective of this board is to express your love for Janet, your opinions, and to interact with an important segment of the Janet fandom.  To enjoy your experience here, below are general rules and guidelines to make your experience here be successful: The N Word Please be aware that the N word is going to be filtered on this forum. Most importantly, this word is not acceptable on this forum in any form; therefore, if it is used again by ANY member on here, it will result in an immediate and permanent ban. Consider this the first, only, and last warning regarding this. Music Download | Copyright Infringement Illegal download links to music from any artist are not permissible to be posted on this forum at any time. If you have posted an illegal download link, you must take it down immediately. Failure to remove the links, and/or subsequent, repeated offenses will result in disciplinary action up to and including a permanent ban from the forum. Fan Threads of Other Artists Generally, we like to keep threads and/or topics about other artists within an Official Artist Thread.  This helps to eliminate clutter and redundancy throughout the forum and allow a one-stop shop to view comments on that particular artist not pertaining to Janet.  If there is HUGE news related to an artist and generates a lot of discussion, it is okay to have a standalone thread on that topic outside of the Official Thread. A good debate is OKAY in the Official Threads of other artists.  Official Threads are not complete sanctuaries of devotion of that particular artist; however, there is a need to be civil with other members.  Please refrain from personal attacks and arguments that devolve into personal attacks. Additionally, do NOT use Janet as means to defend an artist.  This forum is made in her honor, and putting her down to boast your particular artist is prohibited. Exercise good judgment and common sense.  If not, then the moderating team will exercise disciplinary action depending on the egregiousness of the action.  Please utilize this announcement as a first warning. Personal Attacks

Each member has a warning percentage - most of them are at zero right now but a few have been warned before. Each warning is worth 10%, and once it gets to 100% the member is automatically banned from the forum.

Each time a member gets into an argument with another member that includes personal attacks, if it is reported or viewed by a member of the moderating team, each participant in the personal attack will get an increase in their warning percentage.  They will be notified via PM, and, prior to posting again, will receive a receipt acknowledging that warning before they can post again. The Moderating Team will never divulge a member's warn percentages on the forum or to other members.

What this means is you are now responsible for your own future on this forum. The Moderating Team will not keep asking you to stop and being ignored. Learn to let things go and learn to moderate yourself before posting; if you end up banned it will be your own fault. Personal attacks and include attacks on one’s race, age, religious creed, color, gender, national origin, physical, mental or visual disability, medical condition, ancestry, marital and military status, pregnancy or sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and general physical appearance/looks. Depending on the nature of the personal attack there will be corrective action up and including permanent banning. If you have any inquiries about your warning percentage, feel free to PM a mod for an answer. If you need any clarification on the rules, feel free to reach out to The Moderating Team.

    Janet Demos
Does anyone know if there are any released demos of Janet in the studio? Like her actually singing her own demo? A lot of artist has them, especially artist who write, produce, or build their own projects. Everyone from Stevie to MJ & it's always amazing to see where they took the song. I feel like I've never heard any of Janet's and I'm curious.

Based on her announcement, what you describe doesn't sound far fetched from what she may be planning.
I went to Unbreakable New Orleans-- if I recall correctly, the last tour stop before the Unbreakable album was released.  With the exception of No Sleeep, Burn It Up! and Unbreakable, no one in the audience had ever heard the rest of the album at that point.  Of the new songs she did, Shoulda Known Better got a MASSIVE reaction from the crowd, as the projections were so powerful.  There's no way that Janet didn't see how quickly we all connected with it, despite the fact that none of us had even heard the song before.
On this point I totally agree... even without new music, a tour that focuses on Janet's socially-conscious repertoire could be a game-changer for her, especially when it comes to reaching the younger generations.  On my blog I wrote an RN Anniversary post called Janet Jackson: The First Millennial-- not only was it retweeted by Jimmy Jam, but the post was one of the highest ever viewed on my site... definitely the highest of my music-related posts.  And let's not even forget that Janet has yet to perform songs like Black Eagle for a live audience yet.
The potential for this tour is HUUUGE.

Either when there's new info or you create an engaging topic. I'd love to discuss a sound direction for new music.

Uh, in my personal opinion - if she does perform State of the World, which due to the title of the tour seems likely, I think she should reinvent it. Personally, the song isn't bad & the lyrics are pretty relevant but it's kinda dated. I never anticipated her performing that song again, unless she does release something like 4-6 songs on an EP under the same name & she could even do a modernized/reprised SOTW track. Who knows...but I kinda doubt that's what's happening.
Also, as AMAZING as it would be for Janet to add in songs like Can't Be Stopped, New Agenda, LIAWTDM, Dream Maker to make the theme of this tour very solid...I doubt she will do it. The thing is even though it's a rebirthing of Unbreakable tour - IF it is done right she could make this tour a MASSIVE visual & artistic experience like none of her other tours just based on the theme & timing alone. The name sends a message of concern & action...while she is already an icon - if she does this right it could really push her even higher up the chain.

why? She lives in London and was there when the Westminster attack happened. I'm sure security at all venues around the world will be reviewed and upgraded where necessary.

They keep doing these attacks in England. I don't understand what this group wants. What are you achieving by bombing kids at a concert.

hypothetically speaking if she uses some of the old songs that fit the theme of the tour do you think she will keep them as they were or redo them slightly?

Suicide Bomb attack at Ariana Grande's Manchester show
1 man likely carried out suicide attack at Ariana Grande concert, killing 22 and injuring 59
A suicide bomber was likely behind the deadly explosion in Manchester, England on Monday that killed 22 people and injured 59 others who were attending an Ariana Grande concert at one of Europe’s largest arenas.
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to the Manchester Arena in England just before 10:35 p.m. local time on Monday. Authorities are telling people to avoid the area.
The incident is being treated as a "terrorist incident until police know otherwise," police said.
The attack was likely carried out by "one man” using an "improvised explosive device,” police said. The person died at the scene.
"We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated, causing this atrocity," Ian Hopkins, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, said at a press conference early Tuesday. "Our priority is to work with the national counter-terrorism policing network to establish more details about the individual who carried out this attack."
U.S. law enforcement officials have been informed that the leading theory is that the Manchester Arena incident was the work of a suicide bomber, though they caution that this is preliminary information, according to a senior law enforcement official briefed on the investigation.
The wounded are being treated at six different hospitals, Hopkins said at the press conference. "We're doing all that we can ... as we gather information about what happened," he said, asking people to remain vigilant.
The explosion happened inside of the arena’s foyer area after the concert finished, according to witnesses, who reported hearing a loud bang as they exited the arena. The venue holds about 21,000 people and is one of Europe’s largest indoor arenas, according to its website.

I think it will be driven with a single. Remember she is releasing new music but don't think it will be anymore than a couple songs. It would be epic if she did a State of the World EP
