  1. I'm glad this made the top 10! One of my favorite singles from this year.
  2. I just saw Finding Dory this past Saturday. Pixar is one of the best when it comes to sequels imo, and this is no exception. Ellen did her thing of course! Potential spoiler sorta: During the climax, I liked how they referenced street names in the East Bay. Also one word of advice. Stay through the end credits! I left before the bonus scene at the end, but at least I dug it up online.
  3. (I'm late on commenting lol) "Me, Myself and I" deserved slightly better at least - the only Bey song I've given a 10 lol. I like "Naughty Girl" too though. "Let Me Love You" is one of those songs I love when I first hear it, grow sick of after a while, then back in love with it again. I tend to confuse "Burn" with "U Got It Bad," but it's aiight
  4. I'm sure he thought he was being artsy with this video but nah ... it's just bad lol
  5. Well I wish the UK the best. Hopefully the pound regains its footing. I will never understand some human beings.
  6. Yet another attempt to slander the man while he's no longer here to defend himself
  7. Eh, they're not even trying lol. Pitchfork >>>>>
  8. Well as long as it's great I'm open to almost anything ... even voice work for an animated movie lol!
  9. Hope you and your family enjoy it! I'm planning to see it this upcoming weekend. I heard part of it takes place near but I could be wrong tho lol
  10. Based purely on music, Janelle Monae's "Tightrope" is the song of the decade in my mind. (screw the charts lol!) Commercial success considered, I agree on "Uptown Funk" though.
  11. Yeah that's true about inaccuracies. I guess I've just grown used to it from many biographical films, so it inspires me to research a little bit lol. The film did leave it pretty vague whether Ms. Travers liked the final product or not, which of course she didn't, I guess for the sake of a happy ending. Also IIRC I think "Feed the Birds" was the only song she ended up liking although she still had some ...er... strong suggestions lol. The "Fly a Kite" scene was heartwarming though.
  12. Last week I just discovered Saving Mr. Banks. ICYMI (like I did lol), it's a film based on the making of Mary Poppins as well as the author's childhood. Emma Thompson killed it as PL Travers! Tom Hanks as Walt Disney was great as well, even though I'll always hear inflictions of Woody in his voice lol. Overall I'd give it around a 93% A-
  13. Bumping this thread to show my appreciation. I've always loved 24► but now it's become one of my favorites ... at the moment at least! The way the song progresses from the tranquil beginning, then BAM! That funky middle section, and then finally the cool-out. Not to mention the 70s soul influence, the self-harmonies, it just has so many musically-rich elements ... and it's sexy.
  14. Rest in peace, Shane. It's tragic how someone so consumed by hate can go out of the way to stop other people's happiness.
  15. I like how I'm the sole 8 voter for both songs lol. Both are very good
  16. Can't stand two-quarters but I'd be lying if "Go shawty it's yo birrfday" ain't catchy lol
  17. Same, each song brings something unique to the table. I think the diversity was a bold move because not everyone is going to like every style. Sure I could see how some interludes like "Wind" and "Rain" could be considered "filler," personally I see them as transitions that set up the mood for the next track. But the songs? Nah, I love the every song down to the very last chord progression. Plus it doesn't hurt that nearly every song went on to find some form of a success. Anyway that's my hyper-janet-mode rant of the day lol, but honestly it's albums like this that make me passionate about music.
  18. Yet another classic promo strategy. Claim you had sex with someone because you know it will draw attention to yourself lol
  19. I started re-listening to "Magic Stick" lately. Half-dollar can't sing for his life yet somehow that doesn't ruin it for me lol. "Beautiful" is descent for what it is. I find it a little corny and overplayed though. Yeah I've also known about the remake a good while longer, then once I heard the original version I thought "Hey I really love this" and pretty much tossed the other aside lol
  20. Not a huge Luda fan but "Stand Up" is that jam! I've never been too keen on the "Into You" remake, but I love the original solo by Tamia. "Hey Ya" is iconic and deserved better. lol
