  1. Trying to read minds here lol... However we got there, the Number 1 album is now in the bag for this decade. Is Janet necessarily pushing for another chart feat, or just for something to fire up her fans for the tour? My guess would have to be the latter, and that is super exciting for me. But IF good stats can happen, you may as well have a smart plan for them. Even some sort of breakthrough that helps to end the industry blackout would be awesome, even if it doesn't grab stats. And can we talk word choice? I SEE you jqlondon... #Volcanic means it's gotta COME THRU
  2. yep P!nk is Oct. 20th, and if I had to guess, Sam Smith would probably be a little later than that since his first video just arrived. October 6th looks like a good date for somethin, if Janet has it. And again, we may be ahead of ourselves to assume an album of all new music. Much like the Tour, a compilation album comprised of Janet's socially conscious material with a few new tracks would be EPIC imo.
  3. Some very ominous things being said right now, even as Janet, Jimmy and Terry remain mum. 1) Over the weekend, Perez Hilton tried to come for Janet over the Austin tour stop not selling as well as other dates. After a thorough clap back session from the #JanFam, Brad Wavra, President of Live Nation tweeted Hilton saying that they stand behind Janet 100%, and he KEPT saying "just wait till the tour is over". 2) Stan extraordinaire Kelly Alexander is begging/ warning #JanFam to subscribe to her show... do it NOW!!! 3) we already know that Janet and her team think ahead for this stuff, an de they will want to pick a moment when they have the greatest momentum to release the new music. That's likely going to be at or before her Los Angeles show on October 8th. Don't forget that Oct. 2nd is the 2-year anniversary of Unbreakable, and October 7th is the 20-year Anniversary of The Velvet Rope. LOTS to celebrate already!! 4) If you peak the remaining calendar for album release dates, there'a not much else going on between now amd Taylor Swift's Reputation release November 10th. Again, who knows if it's even a full-length album, but if so she'd have a shot to chart well if it happens before 11/10. But even with a new single, Janet could also release the album after T-Swift's mess dies down. January or February would also be great months to garner a number 1 spot.
  4. So agree!! It's just a beautiful album, and a true return to form for Janet. Night is my single favorite track, but I still listen to that album straight through!!
  5. Wow so this really is the Janet Jackson takeover in effect!!! I just don't even know what to say.
  6. So do they have this housed anywhere after the fact?? Cannot locate it!!
  7. Before I forget... Be looking for the camera guy. He was interviewing Houston fans after the show.
  8. So I've been following this since the first few shows. I think it's a combination of a few things... 1) obviously if you know someone that's directly connected to someone in her camp, that's the way to go. 2) Another suggestion-- get there early!! Look for some of the other super fans and chill with them before the show. They're the ones lurking around and trying to find people that will get pulled back. 3) The other thing I'm gonna try is get to a smaller show where there (likely) won't be any celebrity visitors. Janet and Tyler Perry were hanging before the Lafayette show (understandable and great for her), so she probably spent the pre-show time with him and other friends there. But if you can get to a lower profile stop, that's a change to meet her. Of course I've yet to meet her, but these are tips I picked up from fans who have.
  9. LOVE this!! Especially talking about Janet's attention to detail. For those yet to see the tour, I really liked most of everything, with the lone exception being Janet's 90s outfit (it's a bit too baggy for my taste). But the RN/ What About/ If section looks so good on stage!! The dancers are all spectacular wearing sleek black with gold highlights. It's epic.
  10. Ok we need to get some more Texan perspectives in here... First of all, the crowds in Houston and Dallas were solid. Austin and San Antonio are two metros that are 1) about half the size of Big H or Big D and 2) much closer together. For all the noise about Austin being a music city, a lot of bigger acts skip playing there outside of SXSW or ACL which is when celebs take over the city. But what performing in Austin can do, even if you take a ticket loss?? Get some cred with the college crowd. I know for some fans that's insulting to say, but keep in mind that Janet is still being discovered by younger generations thanks to the ridiculous industry blackout. One other note... they closed off the top tier of Frank Erwin which reduced her available seating from 10,000 to probably 6500 or so. So she took a small hit in Austin, but recouped in SA and Dallas, and made some lifelong Texas fans along the way.
  11. Number Ones hit number 84 on Billboard's Top Album Sales, but somehow missed the Billboard 200. Number 5 on the Top R&B/ Hip Hop Catalog Albums. I bet with some promo or a few streaming parties it could rise to Number 1.
  12. WOW Janet was hanging out with Tyler Perry AND Johnny Gill!! Glad she's spending time with friends ???
  13. "You've got ONE Life to Live... Who's Right? Who's Wrong?" The only "right" I care about is how soon I can be RIGHT back to support Janet and #Jtribe on tour. As grueling and taxing as a huge tour can be, I'm sure that Janet is thankful to be encased in her traveling support system and meeting TRUE fans every night that feel the same way we do. That's what she needs from us right now... love, support and for there to be no question that we are in her corner. Let's keep them encouraged by sending them positive vibes on social media, and giving extra positivity when we see them on stage. For now, Janet is back in her country with family and friends by her side. She and her son got out of the situation. #TeamJanet #TeamEissa #WeLoveYouJanet
  14. My initial guesses? This may have something to do with the new radio radio series of Janet, Jimmy and Terry. But also hoping for clues about... -- New Music -- A new compilation album akin to much of what is being performed on SOTWT -- The new docuseries
  15. As the Queen said, if we're gonna "keep gabbin" it may as well be about fun stuff!! Any ideas as to what she could be hinting at?
  16. in Lafayette She did What About full stop, with her dancers acting out everything. I'll leave it there for what happens next ?????
  17. So I have the hospitality package again for tonight. She didn't come to meet fans in Lafayette, but I'm praying that she'll stop in for Houston!! But even if she can't, the fact that Janet took the time to visit the shelter, comfort victims, give them and our whole community a positive memory to carry in the midst such heartbreak and devastation. As a fan I'm touched beyond measure. So proud to be a Houstonian and a #JanFam today!! For those that are waiting to see the tour, do yourself a favor and try NOT to watch the whole thing online. I was screaming from so many surprises... it was incredible. As a fan that missed her bigger tours from yesteryear, this one gives you that experience (only thing missing are the elaborate sets), especially on the energy level.
  18. I'm keeping my comments short due to the needed scalp transplant. But Y'ALL... Janet not only looked epic. She SANG THE SHIIIIIT out of this show!! Was singing live all night. Hitting notes, going off the track, sang the damn high notes (Rhythm nation). She stared Father Time in the face and fucked him over something awful!! Y'all don't EVEN, you can't EVEN until you see it.
  19. In the motel room, and walking out the door in just a moment. The excitement is surreal for sure, but above anything I'm just thankful to be inhabiting this space and this time, with such an incredible artist, family of artists to learn from and grow with. Above all, I'm just ready to celebrate with Janet and the JanFam. And JanFam= what a perfect name for her fan base. Like a family, we argue. And Lord knows that Janet's career has truly seen its ups and downs. We all know that she's been tested in so many ways that even her contemporaries didn't have to endure. But like family, we're in for the long haul, and still thankful for all that she and the Jacksons have accomplished. Ok time to go... #SOTW number 1 y'all!!
  20. So I'm still in Houston... have to stick around here for rehearsal tonight :-/ But the car is packed and my hotel room is booked. The second my rehearsal is done, I'm up out this piece and on my way to Louisiana!! COME THRU MAMA #ReclaimingHerThrone #ReclaimingHerThrone #ReclaimingHerTHRONE!!!
  21. If true, I am so HERE for it!! Jimmy did say in his first interview with Kelly Alexander that he would consider releasing all of those extra bits that they had from her recording sessions. Very exciting!!
