  1. As a fan and semi-professional musician, I'm just happy to welcome new music from Ms. Jackson. Regarding when the release occurs, I'm sure it depends on what goals she has for her and her team. Are they looking for a chart topper, or mainly something that fans can obsess over and enjoy during the tour? If it's the latter, it doesn't really matter when she drops the track. But if they want to claim some good chart action, the best time to drop is late Thursday into Friday, with a smidge of advanced notice (sound snippet, IG post, etc.) so super fans and #JanFam can gather the troops for streaming events, etc. And if the single is released say, Thursday or Friday, the video should be released not long after, but in the same tracking week to maximize chart position. Of course who knows if there is a video, but just FYI. I strongly suspect that Black Radio will be on board, but some digital/ streaming strategy can help in other areas. And I KNOW that fans will want to do it!! And hey, a Number 1 surely couldn't hurt... after all, Ms. Jackson's got a label to support!
  2. "Now wait now... I'll start the era when I'm ready to start this new era". *grabs era* "K, I'm ready" ?
  3. This reminds me of when Janet was at the BET awards. No Sleeep has JUST dropped, and she received that special award. In her speech, she Jimmy Terry and her family, using the phrase “your love is Unbreakable”. Hints are definitely being dropped right now.
  4. If she is, that is her business. BUT I'm thankful that our stars now live at a time in which they can truly have it all. I'm not pressed about rumors, but IF Ms. Jackson wanted to have another child, who's to say couldn't do so and ready her new album at the same time? She had Eissa, and was back on tour 8 months later. And just suppose that a new album were to drop, with a music video or two already shot, and a successful summer tour completed. Take a break and let fans enjoy the album/doc/project/whatever else is being cooked up, have the baby, and go on tour later. Plus, if she were to let fans know this (not that it's necessarily our business to know), we would TOTALLY understand, just like the last time.
  5. What I love about this is it is giving her a forum to speak directly to young people and up-n-coming artists. And they make up some kind of award every year on this show. it's Janet's TURN!!!
  6. Wow she's so beautiful!!! I love Janet so much because her inner beauty always shines through. Can't wait to snatch up this issue. And I'm HERE FOR THE HAIR!!!!
  7. Agreed that this era (musically, anyway) has been defined by Ms. Jackson’s SOTW tour, and the crew of dancers and tour folks which made it happen. Having seen both the Unbreakable Tour and SOTW 2017, it has to be defined as a separate era. Her vibe is completely different. When the new music arrives, it will begin yet another era. As we just saw with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, sometimes these things bleed into each other a bit. The fact that they started OTRII but didn’t drop the new music until a few shows in is kind of ultimate BOSS to me. It’s very exciting for fans to know that new stuff is out there, ready to drop at any time. Go on Ms. Janet!!
  8. One more Dance Number 1 and she hits 20 for the chart. I KNOW she and the team can do it. I also absolutely think she could hit number 1 on the Hot 100. The problem?? Pop radio basically doesn't play FEMALE ARTISTS over 40. A perfect case in point is J-Lo. She's tried time and again to climb up the pop charts, and hasn't managed to get top 60 since 2014 (with a song far less deserving than her efforts since that time). It just goes nowhere. Madonna nabbed a top 20 hit in 2015, thanks to a video packed full of younger celebrities. But to be honest, if I were Janet, I would aim for the genre charts and put out good stuff that will be popular with fans so we keep streaming it, and get her more gold and platinum certifications. That's what counts for the long haul!!!
  9. Straight to Number 1 on the R&B charts, and probably the Dance charts too!!!
  10. So Rih is moving to London.... http://thatgrapejuice.net/2018/06/rihanna-relocates-london/
  11. Very cool!! And yet more evidence of "the take back" Janet confirming her status in popular culture. Seems like now a days every time I go into a CVS or Walgreens, I hear When I Think Of You, All For You or Miss You Much. Janet and her team are definitely securing the bag right now!!! With Pandora confirming over 1 Billion spins, I wonder if this will cause RIAA to re-examine her certifications?
  12. Anyone familiar with Randy and the Gypsys? Randy Jackson's group that released an album back in 1989? Check the song titles... https://www.discogs.com/Randy-The-Gypsys-Randy-The-Gypsys/master/241884
  13. I'm with you on this. Here to love and support Janet, Eissa Janet's family and close friends/ tour family. And CERTAINLY here to pray for their well-being and continued success.
  14. RhythmNationUSA liked my tweet when I brought up RIAA recertifications, and the possibility that janet. could qualify for Diamond. So we know they are paying attention.
  15. What page of the Billboard archive? I was going to tweet this out to RIAA and Rhythm Nation.
  16. Is there any way to find out more about all of the dancers that shared the stage with Janet??
  17. I mean, Taylor Swift? Madonna herself?? I was interested to see they never even cut the camera to Taylor Swift while Janet was performing or speaking. Yet their messages of empowerment are so similar.
  18. That When We Ooo splice over NASTY almost took me out. Then Throb TOOK ME OUT!!! Agreed I wish it had been longer, but at the same time we all know she also wants to get people out to the tour. BUY A TICKET BISHES!!!! All in all, Janet absolutely killed. The performance felt iconic and current. Throb sounding like shit that way better than anything on the radio right now.
  19. So far that’s Prince Jackson, Austin Brown (Rebbie’s son) and Evan Ross that are all going to Vegas. And of course Joseph Jackson already lives there. I’m sure they’re going to support Janet!! After all, this is her first TV performance in 9 years and first major public appearance in about 4 years outside of some ticketed touring event.
  20. Gosh hindsight is so 20/20, isn’t it?? Clearly the intention to get pregnant was always Janet’s hope, so it was smart to have some sort of off-ramp were that to happen. And after years of trying, she hadn’t been successful to that point, so how was she to actually know that it would happen in the middle of the tour? But I prefer to think of it this way... As Janet just reminded us in her interview, being an entertainer, creating and performing is in her DNA. We’ve watched and marveled at Janet’s talents since she was 7 years old. And even though she is very private on her off time, I believe her when she says doing this is a necessary thing for her and her family. Conversely, anyone that thought she was just going to be locked away in a tower for her whole life and become a fade to black trophy mom wife was absolutely wrong about that assertion. Guess they weren’t watching those 40 plus years of YouTube clips to the contrary?? For fans, we saw all of these ‘competing interests’ playing out during UWT, even if we didn’t realize it at the time. So yeah, that show had a lot up against it. So what a blessing it is to see her now, with her sweet baby, her fiercely loyal tour family and the love of her fans and friends? Even through the toughest moments, we all knew that our love for Ms. Jackson is UNBREAKABLE. So now that our queen is telling the world that she’s officially made it to the other side, we all need to celebrate that with her.
  21. As a US fan, I honestly think it worked out incredibly well. Loved them both, but you could clearly tell that she was more passionate and motivated by the message she was sharing on the State of The World Tour. The BEST thing to come from the Unbreakable era was the music itself. The tour will always be special to me b/c it was my first ever time seeing Janet live. But SOTW was literally a next level experience, and (IMO) a much better show to take around the world with some slight amendments. Not to mention that Janet herself is in such a different place from the Unbreakable tour, and all the pressures she was facing at the time. That '3-year plan' turned out exactly as it was meant to be, as all of the #JanFam can clearly see now. We have our muva back, and ready to SLAY.
  22. With all that she's gone through since Unbreakable we know she's got something to say. Even reading the interview, Janet is so poetic!!
