  1. I haven't seen either of those
  2. This year the best for me that I've seen so far are Hidden Figures, La La Land, Hacksaw Ridge and Captain Fantastic was a surprise hit for me...we love that movie! Zootopia will most likely win best animated movie, as it should bcuz of the moral that comes from it, but Moana was another surprise for me....that shit is pretty great and the music was also catchy as hell! Manchester By Thr Sea wasn't all that good I thought.. too slow paced and i got pretty bored 30 min in..
  3. good on you, we wish we could've seen it in the theater also.. and yea for the pst couple years now, every Oscar season all the nominated movies leak their screeners! And I legit mean every nominated movie.

    iPhone 8

no.. the only mode that does Portrait mode is the iPhone 7 Plus, because it requires two side-by-side lenses to make the background blur in Portrait mode, and that's the only model.. but if those are the only criteria you need to have a good enough phone for you, than you're way good with one you have now.. imo, the bigger hard drive you have the better.. even tho the music cloud does help, these phones are more and more made to be used to film video and shoot photos, and the better those pics n vids get, the more space they take up.. plus, the cloud only gives you 5gb free storage.. after that you gotta pay like $20 for every additional 5gb of storage..

    iPhone 8

We got the 7 Plus a couple months back.. upgraded from the 6s Plus.. and now that I've had it for a while, imo it wasn't worth the upgrade price.. I sorta wish that we'd just kept the 6s Plus phones we had and waited another year as everything I've been hearing about the iPhone 8/X/10 has sounded way more promising than em anything the 7 did... although one thing we use all the fkn time is the new "Portrait" mode.. no joke it makes almost any pic you take look like a goddamn Annie Lebowitz masterpiece!! Lol
  6. loved La La Land.. two thumbs up! ????? ..it's like an old school musical flick (i.e. Singing In The Aaron, West Side Story, etc) brought into this generation.. the music is catchy as fuuck imo and the acting is on point, especially Emma Stone.. its a movie about Hollywood, and you know how much they love to suck each others' dicks about their own work and accomplishments, so this will most likely win Best Picture I think.. although the other Best Pic noms are great too, but if you wanna be "in the know" when it comes to the actual Oscar telecast (jokes, skits, etc), I'd def recommend watching La La Land.. and we have an 8yo and an almost 2yo, so we don't get to the theater as often as we used to, so tbh I download most of these movies through Pirate Bay (or I've owned them already).. been doing it for years.. maybe give that a try if you wanna see more of these!
  7. anything directed by mark romanek is usually a near-masterpiece.. you could literally take any frame from any video he's ever made and it would look like a professionally shot still photo.. he's got an incredible eye
  8. I think my expectations were too high for Arrival.. I saw it for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and while I def thought it was a well-made movie, I didn't think it was as awesome as so many had made it out to be.. I loved the premise but I think the execution wasn't as great as it could've been.. Still liked it, but not as much as I had wanted to.. have you seen any of the other movies nominated for any of the other categories..? Thoughts..?
  9. the day that Janet was announced to play the Super Bowl I was stoked afuuuuhhh.. and then as time went on and they announced diddy and nelly and Jessica Simpson and (?) kid rock as part of the halftime show I knew it wasn't going to be as good as if Janet had the whole time to herself.. for the life of me, I'll never understand why MTV felt they needed to cram in so many artists in such a short amount of time.. they did that with Britney and *NSYNC and nelly and Mary j blige and Aerosmith, when really all they needed that particular year was fkn Aerosmith.. they wouldn't murdered that show.. that's a big reason why I'm glad MTV is no longer producing these shows anymore..
  10. the wife and I are attempting to watch (almost) every movie nominated for an Oscar this year.. this how far we've gotten so far (checkmark besides the title indicates we've already watched it): - Arrival - Fences - Hacksaw Ridge - Hell Or High Water - Hidden Figures - La La Land - Lion - Manchester By The Sea - Moonlight - Captain Fantastic - Loving - Jackie- Florence Foster Jenkins- Nocturnal Animals- Kubo And The Two Strings - Moana - My Life As A Zucchini- The Red Turtle - Zootopia - Silence- Allied- Deepwater Horizon- Doctor Strange- The Jungle Book - Rogue One this doesn't include any of the forgeign language films, short films (live or animated) or documentaries.. have any of you watched any of these yet and what are some of your favorites?
  11. there will never be a true 1080p version of IF, as it was filmed and edited on 480p VHS/beta cassettes, as was the standard back then in the early-mid 90's.. would for sure be amazing tho..
  12. I see your point.. and while I agree that after her titty popped out, that halftime show (in particular) became one of the most talked about.. but my point is that it wasn't due to a "performance" by hers that lead to it being talked about for a while, but it was a titty.. it didn't even have to be her titty.. if Janet and Justin had backup dancers with them at the very end of Rock Your Body and it was one of the dancer's tits that popped out instead of Jan's, in all likelyhood it still would've been just as big of a topic of convo regardless.. what I mean is that it wasn't anything attributed to ONLY Janet that made that halftime show as widely known as it is/was.. surely wasn't because of her music or dancing or vocals or lyrics or costume changes (well, sorta).. Now as for MJ, it was only due to his sheer Star status and performance that the halftime show grew in popularity from then on.. hope some of that makes sense.. I couldn't find the correct termanology I was looking for
  13. usually women? Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Lenny Kravitz, 3/4 of the BEPs, Usher, Slash.. they are all from the last half decade or so, none of them are women.. sure Beyoncé, Katy, Gaga and madonna and Missy are women but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's mostly women.. and they're asked about wardrobe malfunctions because that has become synonymous with the halftime show itself and the fact that there are sometimes titties attached to said performers.. (mind you, the term "wardrobe malfunction" was created by JT, a man).. my basic point is that Janet didn't make the halftime show popular by any means.. it already was.. she made that 3-second moment in time popular with that dumbass idea, though, no doubt.. ??
  14. I couldn't find it in YouTube but I didn't search very hard.. if I come across it I'll post it ??
  15. Ya'll are too much! ? @ "janet made it popular" that had me rolling! The NFL didn't even know what potential the halftime show had until MJ set foot on that stage.. he lit that 13 mins on fire the NFL took it and ran with it... MJ's halftime show was the FIRST TIME that the ratings INCREASED during the halftime, as opposed to the game itself.. His performance in 1993 was the most watched thing on TV in history (up until that point).. bigger than the moon landing, bigger than the MASH finale, bigger than anything to that point.. halftime has become the most watched entertainment segment every year since then.. MJ made it famous... Jan made it infamous (for a while, at least)..
  16. the touring show "Michael Jackson: Immortal" ended a couple years ago.. it was touring around the world for almost 4 years and eventually became the 6th or 7th highest grossing music tour in history (alongside Madonna, the Stones, etc).. the "MJ One" show is a permanent residency at the Mandalay Bay in vegas.. both are produced by Cirque Du Soleil, and both are directed by Jamie King.. but they're very different shows.. I've seen both, and the touring Immortal show definitely had more of a rock concert feel to it, while the MJOne show in vegas is way more theatrical and special effects driven (there's a fking hologram in it!).. its crazy good tho.. Janet is/was featured in both shows, and the Scream segment is doope ?!
  17. Anyone here seen the show? I saw it once a couple years ago.. absolutely incredible! The effects, dancing, acrobatics and the mashed-up/remixed music is amazing! Everyvseat in the audience has stereo speakers in the headrest and that's where all the background vocals come out at...Even Janet is included in then Scream segment and her voice sounds crystal clear.. here are some videos I found on YouTube to give you an idea of what it's like in case you're not aware.. The intro/beginning.. The climax... the hologram (watch until the last couple seconds)
  18. Is that an iPhone......? ....and Octavia Spencer..?? ?
  19. The biggest takeaway I'm getting from this whole thread is... Katy Perry has the highest rated Super Bowl halftime show of all time...?! The fuuuuuuuuh....??
  20. I rewatched the full HT show from 2004 last night, and I'm actually glad MTV isn't producing these things anymore.. their entire "MO" was to always just cram as many artists into the 13 mins they have and hope it all meshes well together and doesn't turn out looking like a jumbled mess.. Janet should have had that entire halftime show to herself that year.. maybe one special guest like is usually the norm nowadays, but that's it.. She had the hits and body of work and caliber to hold that audience captive on her own for the entire time.. especially considering how the shows have been for the last few years (one or two artists, contemporary, usually successful), it's especially irritating to think back on what could have been, and it not even be about the nipplegate...
  21. agreed (where's that 3 seconds at..? ?) EDIT: never mind, found it.. so crystal clear that you can see her tit bounce nice and supple when it's released into the world ?? sure it was, but I thought there were still HD broadcasts of it at the time.. I remember the big thing was broadband high-speed internet around then, and flatscreens and HD TVs had been on the uprise since 2000 (add the fact of the 3 HD seconds as mentioned above) and one would think there would be an (at least, near) HD full video somewhere...ijs
  22. im looking on YouTube and within the last 15 years of Super Bowl Halftimes shows, damn near every single one has an widescreen HD video uploaded to be viewed over and over again by whoever.. but then the Janet HT show is one of the shittiest quality videos of any HT performance from any year! anyone know where we can find a better-than-decent video of the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show..?? thanks!! EDIT: I thought I posted this in the main Janet forum ?
