Yes. You are more on point with what I'm saying. Every one is so damn sensitive. Personally I don't like the verses of Take Me Away, but the chorus is good. Her higher register sounds great & at times nostalgic. But Janet singing Lonely, Twenty Four Play, even Anything is not Janet singing Lessons Learned, After You Fall etc. it's just not the same. Her voice has aged & I don't think it sounds powerful and grown woman it's just a maturity. It's deeper that's fine & natural not condescending. Now her background vocals on Unbreakable sounds very nostalgic. Also Janet & Bruno on a song like Alright/LWNDWY would have been great. Her vocals then could have worked.

Well she disagrees with you. She specifically said her voice has deepened. Jimmy mentioned her nervousness because she recognized she had changed. So we can agree to disagree. Unbreakable she sounded good the best she's sound in years but nonetheless it's a different between now and years ago.

I agree it needed visuals. I always thought the prayer in Dream Maker at the end is the perfect opening for Night. One of her best visual concepts for tour was RWU tour. It was very honest, deep, & subliminal. It talked about what she's faced in the industry and where she was at the time.

why are you naming 20 year old examples? And how can she have released albums & songs recently but we can't know her vocal range? Her voice has undoubtedly changed. Not to mention Jimmy said that when she got back in the studio she was nervous about her vocals because even she felt she was a little rusty. It happens. You skipped 20 YO & Discipline to name DJ. DJ is the oldest of those projects. Unbreakable had some songs that felt very nostalgic vocally and sounded good. It's not about keep up for me it was how would they sound together. Now if you argued her IGL vocals live give a good example you have a more solid point.

There tacky when they're done wrong. No disrespect to any idealistic fans but Janet has done tacky things in her career. This can be done better. Yes. She is a much better speaker. Interviews work, and so will the other promo. She doesn't have to attack one angle. Go for multiples. Its not a comparison to the person it's an example of a method. Petty people become fearful of those conversations. We're just talking to relate.

I agree. The only thing I'd change is that she needs to control her image but release HER OWN content. I use this person ONLY as an example but the way Beyoncé has curated some of her promo and personal content would work for Janet. It would be growth for Janet. She can be as personal as she wants and impersonal as she wants. She doesn't have to wait for tv interviews. That's an old format. She can do some social media live stuff in the studio and with jimmy/terry. Disable the comments so ppl can't say rude shit & have them speak about the creative process. Her promo just needs to be smarter, cleaner, more consistent.

There was no social media and constant replays of the shows via (memes, repost, etc.) Artist were less accessible overall. But even then artist pulled back from shows at a certain point. Like MJ & even Janet with exception of something like an SNL.

Bruno can really sing & so could Luther but Janet with Luther was at least 20+ years younger, her voice was a lot higher & her vocal range was more flexible. She's matured since then & her range has deepened.

I was skeptical about their collab, not because I thought Bruno was undeserving or even because I thought it was a bad idea just because I couldn't think of how the song would sound. I know Bruno has done the sound but I'm also considering his voice & Janet's vocals as a merger...what key would she be in how would it complement...that type of thing. I saw someone say Gon B Alright, but her vocals were heavily altered & produced, and that's more of an album cut a fan track. But then I listened to Dammn Baby and it kinda clicked for me. I can hear Bruno as a feature on Dammn Baby, even though those vocals were kinda highly produced too. That track can work. I can see hear it. So I'm very interested to see where it would go, maybe even something like Dream Maker. I love Bruno. He's really dope.

Honestly I can't say, besides the fact that it gives them exclusivity. Lesser access means higher demand. It's like an achievement. You put in work, doing the circuits solidifying your fan base & then you back up. You start to control your content. If you always get to see artists performing on night/daytime tv when you hear they're doing an award show - it's less exciting because you've seen these performances countless times. Also they become larger acts & those shows don't offer the same production value or "grandness" as award shows do. It's limited. One thing I think that kinda sucks is artist do less interviews & kinda lack profound moments like they did in the past.

Most major artist don't perform on television shows. The most you'll get is a live award show performance, so it is kinda behind her & it kinda lessons the brand a bit IMO. Janet interviews are seen as exclusives. Having her perform on your late night show or daytime show would be a little substandard. I remember during Discipline I couldn't stand her live performances. They were lackluster in appearance & did not justice for her as a real performer. I remember feeling she was beyond it then, & ironically the RWU tour was miles beyond any of the live shows. The last amazing live Tv performance from Janet was scream 2009.

Honestly, I think it's tour announcements. Maybe her saying how she promised to reschedule & then doing it. I remember when she first went away Jimmy said in an interview they were already working on new music...but I feel maybe the new music will be coming soon too. Maybe an EP or a few songs & probably a Bruno track. I even believe we might actually get some kinda "interview" maybe in print with pictures of her & Eissa but that's to come. This has all been so calculated & on purpose.

Exactly!! It gets old at some point. Madonna looks gross every time she's on stage pushing sex and forcing herself on some new artist. Janet has been there and done that. The "need" people have for her to be "sexually free" is more about them than it is her. Let her evolve. Janet has become so shadowed in being a sexual artist her socially conscious work has fallen by the wayside for many people. People know little to nothing about the New Agenda, Can't B Stopped, Truth, What About Janet. It's equally repressive to push a sexual image on someone as a brand under the guise of freedom.

This is bull shit. Janet was just with Randy last night at the concert. We always see her with an assistant when she's out. Before the separation headlines came out we would spot Janet out and about at Baby stores and flower shops. Janet has been doing hella stuff....these rumors are genuinely ridiculous. I'd have to be a fan that doesn't have eyes in order to believe them. Like I didn't see the pictures of Janet myself.
