  1. Also - @Dal have you seen it’s official that Maroon 5 are the Super Bowl halftime? I’m not saying this to be an asshole but I really want everyone to realize how deep the super bowl affected Janet’s life. Her redoing it doesn’t feel like a win for her…it’s a bit traumatizing and she’s worked hard af for the last 14 years to distance herself from even being mentioned or correlated to that event at all.
  2. Janet saying she wants to work with Daniel Ceaser & H.E.R. Really has me hype that she’s even thinking in that direction. While a good amount of what’s “being worked on” is up tempo stuff. Those artists specifically would give Janet the RnB vibe I feel she hasn’t captured in awhile. No Sleeep great RnB but it’s not IGL, FHTF, ATAP...those staple tracks she has. I think those artists have very dope RnB roots. I hope they’ve inspired her to create within those lines.
  3. The talk definitely wasn’t between her & JT directly.
  4. She never said she considered it she said there was a conversation, and per her response the day before - you can tell she MIGHT have been asked & she said Hell No. Literally lol.
  5. Feel it Boy would be a nice lead in and mix to a Caribbean set.
  6. It doesn’t air on tv. The thing is, besides the tribute you wouldn’t want to see it on tv. It’s not that good & to MOST ppl they wouldn’t get it. Its a very industry and amongst your peers award show. Publishers, publishing companies, writers, producers, etc. are the ones being awarded. It would be boring to the general public. It also doesn’t fully move like the avg award show. Janet was honored as an icon…but this is such an honor because it’s actually for her writing and MUSIC crafting. The guy gave a CRAZY stat about her music, something along the lines of having 6 songs with over 12 million radio spins & 3 songs with like 18 million spins. To put it in perspective he said you would have to play those songs back to back on the radio 24/7 for 68 years. To reach those numbers. I’m going to speak with someone to clarify how that stat breaks down but that’s what he said.
  7. I attended tonight’s BMI awards - Honest to God, it was the BEST TRIBUTE Janet has EVER received in her entire career. It was FUCKING EPIC!! Janet said so herself. She was teary eyed & this wasn’t a “being nice” moment she meant every word - “I have had so many tributes over my career, and I am so blessed, but this was the best I have ever seen. I’ve never seen anything like that.” The tribute opened with Ciara, giving a speech to open the tribute up & introduce a group of young dancers. Literally about 50 kids ranging in age to about late teens. Then H.E.R. came out and performed Black Cat on a guitar, then she also sang Anytime Anyplace and KILLLLLLED IT!!!! Next, very randomly, they had Jessie Smollet, perform & he opened it up like the Doesn’t Really Matter at the VMAs, but just the dance opening. Then he performed That’s the Way Love Goes & a piece of Alright. Then they had, Normani perform PP with the mirrors and the chair and everything she KILLED IT! She didn’t pull the chair stunt off and nearly fell but her recovery seemed a part of the act. She did great. Like great. Next was Justine Skye & she performed Let’s Wait Awhile, KILLED IT!!!! Great vocals! Make up was reminiscent of Janet. Very much so. The mole the eyes everything. Then they closed the performances with TEYANA TAYLOR who performed IGL & it was everything you’d imagine it to be. She even had a wardrobe malfunction, little joke - they covered “all” of Janet’s highlights lol. Then Missy gave a final speech and introduced Janet. Janet’s speech was heartfelt & very beautiful. She looked amazing. All the artist wore variations of her look in some way or another. It was so epic. You could see Janet was taken aback and everyone there in the industry kept talking about it after it was over.
  8. I wonder if the video will be longer. Kway seems to have “something” big coming this evening at 5pm PST
  9. I learned she recently fired someone, I learned she got semen in a jar from a “fan”. I learned she still has an admirable space when it comes to JD. It’s not much, and these interviews aren’t made to be much but that one seemed like they were cool in the radio world of relationships. That bit he tried to pull off was just not going to work & childish. Janet’s soft, gitty, & shy persona still has her coming off childlike…so every once in awhile she has to remind she’s grown & doesn’t want to play along.
  10. People respond to you harshly because you are condescending your opinion - Solange does not have Janet’s fan base no...but the formula works the same. A large fan base that you’re struggling to bring out INTERNATIONALLY means nothing in dollars & cents. Everyone in the fan base is under the misconception that Janet just isn’t touring the world, don’t you all think she’d LOVE to maximize her money? They think Janet is so huge she can do whatever she wants, also not true. She is a legend forever and always, but the business is a business…an unfair, harsh, & fickle one. People in general are not buying music, then add to the fact that people are not really buying Janet’s recent music - she has to pivot the approach. Leaning on your accolades and repeating the cycle for fans who still are not enough to satisfy your agreements is not smart. An EP is going to give her more leverage than just haphazardly dropping an album. I’ve been saying it for years it’s much smarter than just throwing albums at the wall when only your diehards are listening.
  11. Music, from business to budget to Janet’s global fan base, was different during those eras. She could do whatever she wanted and was signing the biggest recording deal in music history. It’s not the same approach. A lot of people see Janet as the “aunty” Janet - artist. You just don’t see the value in EPs but they work more than you realize. Not from the reviews of people but from what it does for the artists and how they can leverage it for the business on the inside. Many fans crave more from artists after an EP thats great. Solange’s True is a perfect example.
  12. You’re someone who advocates that shouldn’t live in the past or discuss much of what “they remember”. So her doing an EP while it is new (for her) it’s the equivalent of her having b-sides to her old music. With the major difference being, she can/should test the waters for her ultimate goal. To explain best I can, no matter how much money Janet has/makes with touring the states or wherever in order for her to be a viable music partner in business she has to show she’s still marketable…she has new music partners & team & label. That I know she wants to grow in many ways. The EP is like a trampoline, I promise it will make sense, when you drop albums dismally & can’t pull back in your international fan base enough to tour like you want…you’re losing in the end. So give them something bite size, do visuals with it, put enough power into it with collars/presentation & start more tour dates. It does well, now you have traction again…give them even more because they’re hungry again. If they don’t receive what you did, cool…it’s only 5 or so songs…pivot a little. It’s a way to invest at a medium size package yet see big package results. Part of it I’m sure is to grab a little bit of an audience that she doesn’t currently have due to age gap etc. but the other part is because a mainstream interview should be saved until she is ready to drop EVERYTHING. It would start a snowball effect that would burn out shortly after. This process is small & mighty. The interviews aren’t really about shit but the single & that she’s coming - I had a baby, he’s so lovely, I’m working on something - it’s in motion, I am a legend - I’m being awarded, & I’m not done with music. Btw, yes I still look good. Breakfast club, ABC, etc they don’t want those details they want - you got married & divorced, what happen, what’s with the religion transition rumors, was there any kind of abuse…what has made you relationships go this way, let us see your son...then the “she’s back” is just a benchmark of the interview.
  13. Not necessarily - see it this way an EP is inconsequential. You’re presenting an appetizer like someone said, and it’s not about sales. It’s not about recouping it’s about promotion, awareness, testing, & creative experiment. An album costs more not just financially but once it’s released you are not testing you are providing. If people don’t connect with it there is no where to move you have given them a full project. Doing an EP + visuals is like a reminder & a way to see if the team’s direction is on course. Now - costs is not just about Janet being rich there’s new partners involved. Also no matter how well UB was done it wasn’t a decent seller…most will say because of promotion and baby, partly true but there’s STILL another group of people she will want to wrangle in. Watch her work, it makes a lot of sense. MANY artists do EPs.
  14. It is true that Janet’s decision to do an EP will have nothing to do with the availability of another artist. She’s been in the game forever and is a legend herself she wouldn’t rely on the collaboration of another artist to stop, change, or redirect the type of project she’s doing. So you’re right in the fact it wouldn’t be the REASON for an EP. Where you’re wrong, like I said to you before, an EP is not a waste of time. EP’s can be very strategic, affordable, & smart moves to test your sound.…give visuals for to bring people back in the fold & create a ramp up buzz. I’ve always said Janet needs to drop an EP. As it all rolls out it will all make sense. There’s no reason that cant be possible. That is a very realistic strategy, but the Bruno situation is not they why or how behind it. Remember there’s artists bigger than Bruno she’s considering/planning on working with.
  15. Lol, to each it’s own lol. Ive listened to him consistently, didn’t care too much for him until after the Dame Dash interview. I started seeing him grow & now I fux with him heavy.
  16. That’s completely untrue he has been who he is over the last few years. It’s easy to prove this true by just going and looking at content from that time frame. Not to mention that allegation was proven false by DNA & yet ppl will still believe and spread it because they don’t like him. It’s kinda like the Janet & her first child rumor. Ppl like to hold whatever feels good for them to believe. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.www.complex.com/pop-culture/2018/07/charlamagne-tha-god-dna-test-from-rape-case-revealed Not to mention one of the women twitter tried to claim he “admitted” to raping was his current wife. She called the station & she cleared that story & rumor up as well.
  17. Nah he has been making changes, and that’s not to try to sway your opinion. I just can tell when ppl stopped listening to him a long time ago and hold on to that thought of him. A person can’t have been listening to him within the last 2 years and have the same opinion of him they had 4 years ago. Literally polar opposite and the problematic stuff was long before his public career, he was vindicated, & his personality currently is a reflection of obvious growth over the years.
  18. It’s not to say you won’t get an album it’s to say you’re about to definitely without a doubt get an EP. That’s not a rumor that the truth. Janet at UB vs Janet today are completely different life spaces. Completely different. She is making shifts & brand changes sonically to build her audience internationally again & it’s without the taxing work, financially & otherwise, of doing a whole album right upfront. This is NO SLIGHT TO JANET but outside of Janet fan world, her music has not been highly anticipated by general public & actually doing numbers & giving her the footing she needs to ultimately make a solid global tour push. Also - EPs are projects. She’s never done an EP before so she’s calling the EP a project as all of her works are projects…movies, music, videos all are considered projects.
  19. CTG has been branded a certain way and some think of him still that way but he’s had some major changes in how he approaches things. What I respect is that he’s going to ask real questions though. I think Janet doesn’t often get asked anything that matters.
  20. IMO Janet’s interviews are very cookie cuter when she’s on promo tour. Never anything fans can learn or walk away with anymore. She hasn’t had a good promo tour interview since VR. Her EXCLUSIVE interviews always are great but BFC - Would have ambushed a little just because Janet is like a music industry journal over the last 45 years. She has all the answers so yes they would have wanted to ask her damn near any and every thing. BUT, one thing about being asked deeper questions and even questions on some rumors you get the chance to tell your story and clear them up. You get to see the real Janet and her perspective on life more deeply. Just answering generic questions, it’s like you don’t get to FEEL her.
  21. Breakfast club is bigger than radio. They’re show is even on television. Their interviews often get millions of views online. It’s so much bigger than radio.
  22. The fact that you guys don’t know what breakfast club is…really giving side eyes. Anyway, unfortunately looks like it won’t be an interview. She just stopped by:
  23. I actually want this to be a less controlled and authentic interview. Janet is 52 and been in the industry for 45 years. Charlamange is an excellent interviewer for getting to things either people want to know or addressing rumors & getting things on the table. That should happen. Fans will actually appreciate it if Janet allows it to be natural, because there will be nowhere else where these questions would come from.
