Bailey
Nah, don't really care about the itunes charts, I saw how it fell on the Hot 100 (the chart that matters most), do you see that

JoeJoe
No you said: those are two opposites Coming in with that "sex sells" thing is crap. Xtina sold sex for her entire career and now she's hosting a talent show with no grand prize (you can replace Xtina with nearly any diva who debuted in the past 20 years) I think Nicki is just having fun. I dont think we should take what she says seriously. Oh is that what the Back to Basics era consisted of? Sex? Nah, don't really care about the itunes charts, I saw how it fell on the Hot 100 (the chart that matters most), do you see that WHAT? When did this happen? What's this show she "host's" with "no grand prize"? I thought she was still being a judge on The voice, where you win money and a deal Yeah I saw just that along with how I saw Iggy's album speed racing to the bottom of the charts as well and still not gold

So you're saying it's not in the top 20 anymore?

aed05
I think Nicki is really pushing a point that says let's throw out the traditional standard of women being bean poles, here she is looking fucking hot with a big ass..that tells people if you got a big ass shake it I see where you're going but i disagree. J-lo and beyonce already pushed that point, and both did it with better videos and music. Nicki's buzz singles weren't creating any buzz so she pulled out her best "assets" and now she's the hype. From a business standpoint she was smart....i guess. artistically not so much. Ultimately the song and video are a send up to "Baby got back" which actually lyrically took to task the ideal standard of beauty. Nicki's video is still the objectification of women, which is an old hip hop standard and cliche. If she really wanted to flip the script she would have made a video objectifying male body parts. Especially since the song is called ANACONDA.

It's just what we talked about that J.Lo use to bank off of, the samples of old school classics, that's automatically gonna get attention. Well played, bad song, but well played move. aed05
disagree, you're saying Nicki should objectify men? and that makes objectification right then? No objectification is not okay, but your argument was that she was challenging the ideal "skinny" beauty standard. My opinion was that was not what she was doing. She went porn to sell records. But since she was gonna sell sex, why not flip it and objectify male body parts the way sir mix-a-lot did phat asses in his video? Instead she objectified herself. Which she has a right to do. But don't try and give her credit for more than that
aed05
JLo just did that with I Luh U Papi And she did a good job with it too. Too bad the song was wack. But the video spoofed hip hop culture very well.

Rock & Roll Hall of Game
I love this song...although the end part ruins it a little Me too at first but then I can't help but laugh at her ignorant fucking laugh FINALLY, after all that trying and trying and flops after flop after flop she finally came back to the top 10, who knows maybe she'll be the longest rapper at #2 I'm going to ignore the shade since you're clearly upset that Nicki did what no other female (real) rapper can do.. Have a solo #2 hit in this country Taylor Swift is #1 I hate to love that song
