This is really hard. Bey and Amy brought their A-Game. Justin and Robin are in my second tier of favorites from this year. I also have Corinne's debut which I enjoyed, but not as much as the others. Between Bey and Amy, I'm going with Amy. That album was undisputed perfection.

4. B'Day (Green Light)

*Back To Black gets my vote because it's the least dated of them all frankly, but also it's just also and undeniably is the strongest album up there. I LOVE 20 Y.O. but I gotta give it to Amy

*I LIIIIVED 20 when it was new, I love that album to this day, despite my opinion that it has some hidden gems and it's upsetting how the ball was completely dropped on that era, I love the work, "ghetto" Janet Im not too here for but for what this album is, it's great and it kept me loving & supporting her.

*The Evolution is my favorite Ciara album, it's the only 1 where it's growth and a theme and it worked and she slayed at that time, I liked her ALOT at that time actually

*B'day is my 2nd fave Bey album, the weird thing I have with that album is I like more songs on it than I do on DIL, but the songs I love on DIL almost easily outrank the picks for B'day. And it must be said, it took a while for me to like most of the songs on this album, more specifically it took the video album to like most of these songs. I never paid for the album, but I did buy that video album and the tour DVD, was very entertained by both.

*The Evolution Of Robin Thicke isn't 1 of my favorite albums by him, his 3 followups to it were practically filler-less, but I love that in this album he was still finding himself and his sound, being a lil current but also sticking to oldschool mostly.

*CBR is my favorite album by Corrine & Testimony is my  2nd fave India album. Both albums I loved when they were new but don't use too much these days. I am not my hair is both my favorite India Arie & Akon song.

* I didn't like Ne-Yo at 1st, but I warmed up to the era in time and am today a casual fan of him and this album

* I think this'll be the highest you see me rank a JT album, and I think this is the nicest you'll here me talk about him musically. It's his best album, Sexyback, My Love, & the best song he's ever done in his life Until The End Of Time is all I use him for as a solo artist.

* Once again, John Legend, not too big on this era but I do love Save Room, But that's it.

It doesn't. It actually gets a lot of praise and is regarded as one of her best.

"I Am....17 Grammys Deep" is the album that gets the most flak from the Hive.

I'm the furthest from a Bey fan but i know B'Day had some bops (Deja Vu - very underrated imo and i really liked Green Light). If she didn't have a video for every song, i wouldn't have a clue about the album!

I Am...was a more mature sound no?

Yeah, I love B'Day. The live instrumentation is splendid and I feel like vocally it's very ingenious. She explored her range in ways she hadn't before and had very creative arrangements. I love it just as much as 20 Y.O but I had to choose one for the poll.

"I Am...Sasha Fierce" was definitely more mature lyrically and production wise. It's probably her most diverse sound wise, there's a little bit of everything on there. The gripe the fans have with the album is that it feels very non-cohesive and thrown together. I love it though! I feel like that disconnectedness really conveys the whole Sasha Fierce alter ego notion perfectly. That's more prominent on the Sasha side.

1. 20 Y.O. ~ a.k.a. 20 years of slayage--Easily the album of my Fall 2006 ("Enjoy")

2. The Evolution ~ Ciara did her thing here. I was actually impressed with this one. ("C.R.U.S.H.")

3. Back to Black ~ I'm one of the minority who prefers Frank, but this album is still a modern classic. ("Back to Black")

4. Once Again ~ Includes some of my favorites songs by him. ("P.D.A. (We Don't Care)")

5. The Evolution of Robin Thicke. ("Wanna Love You Girl")

6. Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship. ("I Am Not My Hair")

7. Corinne Bailey Rae. ("Put Your Records On")

8. In My Own Words. ("Sexy Love")

9. FutureSex/LoveSounds. ("Lovestoned/I Think She Knows")

10. B'Day. ("Deja Vu")

Honorable mentions:

1. Every Woman Dreams ~ Shanice. This album is so raw! It'd actually be #2 on my list. ^_^("Loving You" - 2005 version)

2. The Audition ~ Janelle Monáe. ("Lettin' Go")

3. Tennessee Slim Is a Bomb ~ Joi. ("Dance With Yesterday")

4. RizzWaFaire ~ Ralph Tresvant. ("Love Hangover")

5. 3121 ~ Prince. ("Love")

And I guess Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere is too borderline since it straddles different genres ~ so I left it out lol

Man, I couldn't stand "I Am..." when it came out. The non-cohesive issue was one of my complaints, but also because most of the ballads felt so underwhelming with the exception of, as TE mentioned, "Ave Maria". The uptempos were good, but the only two that were catchy without being annoying were "Sweet Dreams" and "Single Ladies". They grew on me faster than the ballads did, though. It took me a long while to eventually love that album. The recent album's ballads and a few of 4's made me appreciate them more. Her ballads really are in lane of their own.

It took me a while to fully appreciate the "I Am.." side too. I love how toned down and restrained her vocals were on those ballads. Coming off an album where she was hollering through most of the songs, it was a little jarring. I have a different appreciation for it now. You get to really hear her tone and the little subtleties of her voice on those songs.
