Let's not pay Halo dust. Beyoncé was lacking a big solo hit ballad up until its release. And it still sounds as striking today. I think it was a turning point for her.

Now that you mention it, that's really true. :lol: I didn't give it a lot during earlier listens. I liked it, but it didn't grab me. Not until I heard her sing it in Michael's honor during her tour. :tear: It is certainly gorgeous, though. :wub:

I was there when she dedicated it to Michael. Next time I saw her she was dedicating it to Whitney. :tear:

"I Am...Sasha Fierce" was definitely more mature lyrically and production wise. It's probably her most diverse sound wise, there's a little bit of everything on there. The gripe the fans have with the album is that it feels very non-cohesive and thrown together. I love it though! I feel like that disconnectedness really conveys the whole Sasha Fierce alter ego notion perfectly. That's more prominent on the Sasha side.
