I know I'm paid dust here on the forum, but in the real world how do I respond when people message me randomly saying they love the music n stuff?

I say thanks, but they always want to start a conversation and I never know what to say.

well what conversations are they trying to start dummy lol

It's not that hard Eph (not thread worthy...in fact it comes accross as bragging, but we expect this from you tehe) but how the hell do you want to be adressed by people you're a fan of? Answer their questions, plug other things in your answers and if you really want the fans to really stay, act like you care about them when talking to them, its not hard, you are a Janet fan, we have a great example of this. :coffee:

Hmm ok never thought of it that way.

Same applies if they're hot and I wanna use the opportunity to get in their pants? ^_^

Fan: How's you're music going

Me: Going well, thanks for asking.

Fan: You're welcome. I really am a fan of your work.

Me: Thanks!

Fan: I like dancing or just listening to it

Me: Cool

Then I pretty much lost them

Instead of just saying "Thanks" you could try engaging them more. If they say they're a fan of your work you could ask them what their fave track is, or how they discovered you. Even if you're not interested it's probably important to them, and it makes for good PR.

At least expand it to "Thanks, I appreciate that" ~ that's what they usually say. (in my twitter experience anyway *saves rhyme* lol)
