In complete darkness we are all the same, it is only our knowledge and wisdom that separates us. In a world of non-believers and anti-Janet fans, Witnesses were placed on this Earth by our creator to spread the gospel of Janet and rejoice in her many blessings. MTV JDJ Entertainment taps into the lives of Janet's disciples and explores the everyday life of what it's like to be a Janet Jackson fan/stan.

In this episode of True Life, Janhova's Witnesses will share their everyday Janet related events, conversations, sightings, and stan moments in this installment of

Hello...my name is Henrietta Jo Jackson, and I stan for Janet Damita Jo Jackson.

Each morning, I pray to the almighty Janhova for giving me another day to spread the word that she has laid down as the law of the "Rhythm Nation"...*cuts to me praying*

After eating breakfast (if I feel like it), I'm walking the streets, knocking over Jehovah's witnesses with the Holy Bible: True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself Edition in my hands...which is in stores btw

I wanna say I was hooked on Janet as a baby. My sister told me whenever I would cry not only would I go to her to be held, but I would instantly stop crying whenever they played Janet. The song that got me hooked on the sweet nectar of Janet was "Together Again". My grandmother was in the hospital and on the drive there, we heard "Together Again" on the radio. After seeing and speaking to her for a few, we went into the visitors' room, which is where I saw the "Together Again" video for the first time, and that's when my soul was instantly open to her gospel. After that, the doctors informed us that my grandmother passed, and that's when "Together Again" became my favorite song of all time *gets tissues and makes sure my makeup is okay*

One of the first albums I purchased was Janet's All For You album (I purchased it along with 2 other irrelevant albums). During that time, I noticed the chicks in school were trying their best to pull off the Janet Jackson "All For You" cut-up jeans and jacket look. I even saw someone with a cut-up Members Only jacket with a bad bleached weave  Shortly afterward, I got the Control and Rhythm Nation 1814...needlessly to say Janet quickly became my favorite entertainer period. A few years later, I got the janet. and The Velvet Rope albums on a rainy Saturday...I didn't like TVR at first, but ended up loving it after I went through some things later on in life. I couldn't find her very first two album at the time, but purchased them on iTunes years later also.

In high school, everyone (friends, associates, teachers, people I didn't like and still don't care for today) KNEW I would quickly put someone in check if I thought they were trying to make a slick comment about the Goddess. I got all her video and tour DVDs and spent hours dancing along to them instead of doing my homework (school was easy so I slept in classes and came out with As and Bs minus my Chemistry, but the crow's feet teacher and I didn't like each other from day 1 and that was proven when she kicked me out the class the first day of my junior year). My mother caught me dancing along to "Throb" one day...I was so embarrassed, but I got over it since I was glad she didn't catch me doing my own "Rope Burn" and "Would You Mind" routines

*after the break...HJJ will talk about his reaction to the SB, waking up early in the morning to catch the debut of the "Call On Me" single, calling the radio stations to request Janet songs and so on*

Next on....

*sits back down* Okay where were we...yes the SB. One thing I have to make clear is that she's the only reason why I tuned into the watched the SB...I tuned in for the halftime show and tuned out after it. When she started, I was happily squealing more than a heavily fat kid in the Golden Corral buffet line. She killed that "AFY" part...that walk towards the end of it informed me that her fierce strut was the key to life -_- Some no names performed after her so I quickly ran to get some kool-aid. When I heard "RN", I was like oh okay because I kinda thought she would perform a new song or something...and she went into killing the routine. When she started with the "Prejudice....NO!!!..." part, I was screaming "NO!" along with them. To cut a long story short when I first saw the ending, I was like "did her titty pop out? ", so I went back to watch it and was like "YAS! :excited: ".

The next day in school, Janet was the hot topic and I was loving it  But it meant I had to defend her too. I don't remember how one fight started, but I remember snatching someone by saying "what the fuck do you know about Art and rock stars? You're a fan of a heifer singing about meeting her in a ghetto laundromat :umm: ". The bitch didn't have anything to say B) I even had to get in on my dusty ass Chemistry teacher a year later when she tried to make a slick comment on the whole class failing one of her tests, but she tried to be even slicker by saying to me "Maybe I should have been studying instead watching Janet's breast." I stood up and said, "Well bitch maybe you should fuckin' learn how to teach a damn class instead of worry about what the fuck Janet Damita Jo Jackson and Henry Douglas Foreman do on the weekend :flipoff: ". She instantly busted out crying and sent all of us to the college fair. The assistant principle and I had a long convo about it, and she told me not to worry about it.

When I got home, it was all over the news and I was like "WTF...really  Don't they have more important stuff to get worked over about in the news :umm: ". The performance made one of my best friends love her more so I let her borrow my CDs for a few days (I was itching like a crack addict without them)...I went with her later when she purchased them. Years later, I woke up probably around 4am to make sure I didn't miss the Doug Banks Morning Show debut "Call On Me". I instantly liked the song and would take walks to it later when I purchased the album. I called the radio stations a lot of time to request "So Excited". I lied to one DJ and told her it was my birthday and how I was a huge Janet fanatic so she played it B) One DJ I knew because a friend was sleeping with him and he played it a lot for me along with "Show Me" (I didn't ask him to play it :umm: )...with the way the station kept playing it, I thought it was the next single. One DJ told me that they don't have any Janet songs. I knew what was going on so I said "So did all the music you use to play before the SB mysteriously disappear?" He said what and I said "You heard me. WTF do you even show up for work if you don't have real music to play"...then he hung up on me.

Over the years, I continued to support everything Janet has done...music, movies, books....you name it. Let's fast forward to my first time seeing Janet (sorry...I got lazy and decided to copy and paste my experience I posted):

As I put on my Facebook status, words CANNOT explain how it is seeing her alive. Before the show started, I figured out where she was going to enter through (I was already there anyways), so to get closer I found this chick who appeared to be tipsy and traded seats with her by lying and saying Janet's coming through this way <ahttp://planetjanet.invisionzone.com/uploads/emoticons/default_excited.gif' alt=':excited:'> Once Janet came in, I was sooooo blown away. Before going onto the stage, she was flipping that hair (thank God she couldn't find Jermaine's hair gel), she pointed in my direction, took a bow and strutted...right then and there, I felt my spirit just leave my body and I almost fainted :excited: When she first left the stage, I went back to the drunk chick and talked her into switching seats with me again (I know I would have a better view from my original seat so I lied and said "You haven't seen the youtube videos? Janet's going to come back through the crowd  ). When it was time for the ballads, in my head I was doing a Christina Ag. soulful scream of the lyrics, but since I just recently gotten over a cold I KNEW in reality I sounded like this but I didn't care. While she was performing, she pointed again in my direction and I will testify in court that I saw my wig along with head chips, pieces of my skull and a chunk of my brain floating to the back to be a part of her collection. I stayed on my feet the entire time she was out. I was screaming and chanting my ass off (I started the "Janet" chant when she left after "RN"). When she introducing the dancers, Ramone did some vogue move and I screamed:

ybw.gif

She skipped some songs, but I truly didn't care. After it, I stood in line for damn near 30 minutes just to get 2 shirts (I got the tour book right before the concert started and good thing too, because they got sold out at the end). When I stepped outside, I had to smoke, because it felt like I was worn out from sex. I don't give a fuck what anyone says about her slowing down a lot (TOF <_< )...don't mix slowing down with being more smooth with the moves. And when she was hitting them hard, she was hitting them extra hard (she was dropping it, popping it and working those hips like no other) :excited: And her arms look so ripped  And I will say she truly does look way better in person than on TV and in pictures. Even Gil's jerky choreography looked better in person. If you believe those fools that say she didn't dance much and were disappointed by that then all I can do is...

janet18512.gif

To this day, whenever I'm talking to someone about music, somehow it ends up with me bragging about what Janet has done and how she's still able to dance when the new artists are stuck on repeat or can't even move a hair strand along to the beat like Janhova. Do I think I have a problem? Nope B) Being a Janet Damita Jo Jackson stan is the best thing life can give you B) It's safe to say I support the real Janet stans/fans, but will be quick to call out the fake ones like ThatOtherFan. Janhova placed me on this planet to spread her word, and I will...even if I don't like some of the stuff that she does since it's my duty:

That was beautiful, Hendrika! +1 :good:

Let's me know you actually have a heart underneath all that evilness!:wub:^_^

Having read this I can truly say you are a true stan! lol

Though you'll never be in my league since I've been a stan since the "Control" era. :coffee:

Shit...I fought to mention that I called a radio station and dissed Ciara and promoted Janet at the same time back in '06. Oh well...that will be a bonus scene -_-

Tell us the story.

I am a PROUD Janet stan. People already know the deal with me and Janet. I purposely bring Janet up and dare somebody to say something slick about her. I have her Google Alerts sent to my email and everything. I think she is the absolute most beautiful woman in the world and her music is just

Because I'm not good st going into detail like that.

What's your excuse? :coffee:

You don't have to give a full story silly rabbit. It's the same concept as when I first did this thread on JJ.net. All you have to do is share your Janet related stories and anecdotes.

FOR SHE IS OUR MOTHER!!!:wub:

I can go on all day why Janet shits and will continue to shit on the gals, boys, and lessers. I literally grew up on Janet. Yeah, I remember her as Penny, Charlene, and Cleo. I remember her first two albums, which didn't sell well. But once I seen the "What Have You Done For Me Lately" video, my eyes were forever opened. Janet had spunk, attitude, humor, and a fresh sound. Gone was the girl who let her family tell her what to do; here was the woman who DEMANDED control over her life, career, and relationships! At a mere 8 years old, Janet had me outside jamming to her songs..tm1-vi912.gif

Once "Nasty" was released, I was a certified nut.142bytw_jpg-vi202.gif I couldn't take the video or the most iconic saying ever: My first name ain't baby, It's Janet, Miss Jackson if ya NASTY..2wqd8qu1-vi992.gif

My fave song from the album "Control" was "When I Think Of You"..This just happened to be her first Hot 100 hit. Ugh, when I tell you that this was the fucking jam!!wmn3-vi149.gif The lyrics, melody, production, and video SHAT! Although Janet was a bit chunky(1182iht_jpg-vi937.gif), she was still slaying the choreography.. More to follow!!
