I am so hyped for awards season - there are a number of great looking films I can't wait to dive into.

I love that Jennifer Aniston has finally done something with some serious buzz about it, but I'm hoping this is Julianne Moore's year.

I hope Cake opens more doors for Jennifer to get more serious roles.

Same page on Aniston, I LOVE in the 2010s especially she seemed to have gotten as tired of playing "Rachel" esque characters as we are seeing them, her character in Horrible Bosses, & We're The Millers & Cake are roles that we who know her work so well would not expect from her, and that's the best! Proud of her for these last couple of years, she REALLY stepped up her game, and I hope she gets rewarded for it

...........yet still team Jolie, don't let the praises fool ya LOL but I love both of them really....tho 1 a bit more lol

A good pack of nominees for a good year in film. Between Benedict and Eddie for Best Actor I feel so torn. Benedict turns everything he touches into gold, but Eddie was impeccable and showed more development as an actor in one movie than many others do in their entire careers. Julianne should finally get hers. I'm very happy to see Jennifer and Felicity Jones get noms, though. They were both fantastic. Best drama has to go to either "The Imitation Game" or "The Theory of Everything". They both stole my heart this year.

I think he's favored to win the Oscar. Do you think the nominees this year are kinda weak?

I would love that, although Miles Teller was just as good. Compared to last year I think there's less essential films and performances in the running, but there's also a lot which isn't out here yet so it's hard for me to form an opinion beyond trailers. The favourites seem to be Julianne and Michael Keaton, but I think Steve Carell could be the dark horse. We know how the Oscars love a transformation.

It seems like Julianne and maybe Michael Keaton are sure bets to sweep..I hope not because I would love to see the love spread to other nominees just to shake it up a bit.  And I'm sooooo ready to see "Foxcatcher".  I seen the trailer and Steve is unrecognizable.  I thought maybe Channing would get some noms, but Mark Ruffalo seems to be getting the love.  The SAG awards are usually telling for the Oscars, but you just never know.  I think the Best Actor race is going to be the most exciting to see.  Along with Best Picture..

I agree. I don't remember the last good shake-up during awards season. I love it because we get most of the best movies from the year around this time, but I also take issue with it because by the time the Oscars roll around we usually know who's going to win. Do you guys already get to see all of these movies? I know quite a few of them won't be released here until February/March. It's the same every year.

See it ASAP. My top contender for the year.

Like this! I'm dying to see it.
