Bailey
according to Roger Friedman's Showbiz in a last minute showdown, the soundtrack to "Empire" comes in at number 1 http://www.showbiz411.com/2015/03/17/charts-madonna-misses-number-1-for-first-time-since-1998-as-empire-scores-a-victory

Aquaria
I'm actually getting into the album more. Holy Water is my current "bop"
TwistedElegance™
Let's not pretend this is anything to scoff at. Madonna had to contend with a three-month-old leak and there was no hit single to carry her. Plus Empire is killing it right now. This is not bad news for anyone. Btw that stat is incorrect. None of Madonna's albums charted at No. 1 in the '90s. And just so we're clear, Madonna actually sold 10,000 more than the Empire soundtrack. I'm sure some of you will spin that into another ageist one-liner.

She had to contend with a leak that she probably orchestrated herself. She was on Ellen for 5 days straight. She was on the grammys, Blew up twitter with her brit awards performance. No excuses here. TwistedElegance™
But she's the queen though. Correct. She was also the queen when, as I said, she didn't score a No. 1 album in all of the '90s. A No. 2 debut changes nothing, particularly when she sold more. She had to contend with a leak that she probably orchestrated herself. Fact-based arguments only, thanks. She was on Ellen for 5 days straight. No, she's on there this week. She was on the grammys, Blew up twitter with her brit awards performance. The Grammys were over a month ago and the Brit awards are an international production. And besides, it was her fall that blew up on Twitter, not her performance. janetDAYZ
It's respectable? Eh If it was one of your favs I guarantee those numbers would be considered respectable, infact I have seen you say 100k is respectable for other acts. She had the odds up against her.. so yes it respectable. What other 80s artist is doin it? Its 90s/00s artist who arent even doin it. Other acts as of late have been disgustingly performing under 100k

But for a living legend with sold out tours? It's not respectable as it is expectable. Maybe if her flop didn't leak 3 months in advanced and if she didn't say the N-word and/or if she didn't break an iPod Touch and posted it on Instagram then maybe it would be considered 'respectable'
