During her extraordinary career, Janet Jackson has achieved ten number one Billboard Hot 100 singles, 13 number one RandB singles, and 19 number one hits on the Hot Dance/Club Play charts. She made history with Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 14 which is the only album to produce seven top five hits.

1. 1993 - "That's The Way Love Goes"

In 1993. "That's The Way Love Goes" became Janet Jackson's fourth number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first platinum single. it sold over three million copies worldwide and earned a Grammy Award for Best RandB Song.

2. 1993 - "Again"

"Again," composed by Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis for the movie Poetic Justice, earned an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. She starred in the film with Tupac Shakur

3. 2000 - "All For You"

The title song from Janet Jackson's album All For You became her tenth number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000. it remained at the top of the chart for seven weeks more than any other song that year. "All For You" earned a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording and an ASCAP Award for Song of the Year.

4. 1989 - "Miss You Much"

"Miss You Much" became Janet Jackson's first platinum single in 1989. The song spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and was the longest-running number one of 1989. It was also the second-best selling single and the biggest radio airplay song of the year.

5. 1986 - "When I Think Of You"

In 1986, "When I Think Of You" became Janet Jackson's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. 20 year-old Jackson became the youngest artist to top the chart since Stevie Wonder hit number one at the age of 13 in 1963.

6. 1989 - "Rhythm Nation"

The title song of Janet Jackson's 1989 album Rhythm Nation 1814 received numerous honors, including BMI Pop Awards for Most Played Song and Songwriter of the Year, and a Billboard Award for Top Dance/Club Play Single. The Rhythm Nation 1814 film also won a Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video.

7. 1986 - "Control"

The title song of Janet Jackson's 1986 album Control won a Soul Train Music Award for Best RandB/Soul or Rap Music Video. Her competition included Michael Jackson, and her victory in the category symbolized that she was not longer in the shadow of her famed brother.

8. 1986 - "What Have You Done For Me Lately"

"What Have You Done For Me Lately" was the first single from Janet Jackson's third album Control and began her emergence as a music star. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best RandB Song and Jackson performed it at the 29th annual Grammy Awards in 1987.

9. 1995 - "Scream" with Michael Jackson

"Scream" in 1995 was the first single from Michael Jackson's ninth studio album, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, and his first duet with sister Janet. The $7 million video won a Grammy and three MTV Video Music Awards.

10. 1990 - "Love Will Never Do Without You"

"Love Will Never Do Without You" from Janet Jackson's 1989 album Rhythm Nation 1814 became her fifth number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

11. 1997 - "Together Again"

"Together Again" from the 1987 Velvet Rope album was Janet Jackson's eighth number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

12. 2000 - "Doesn't Really Matter"

Janet Jackson hit number one in 2000 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Doesn't Really Matter" from the Nutty Professor II: The Klumps soundtrack. it was also included on her All for You album. Jackson starred in the movie with Eddie Murphy.

It was ninth number one single, making her the first artist to have a number one hit in three separate decades.

13. 1987 - "Let's Wait Awhile"

"Let's Wait Awhile" from the 1986 Control album was the first song Janet Jackson co-produced. She recorded the song with her frequent collaborators, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. it reached number one on the Billboard RandB chart and number two on the Hot 100.

14. 1990 - "Black Cat"

"Black Cat" from the 1989 Rhythm Nation 1814 album represented a new sound for Janet Jackson, and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. It won a BMI Pop Award for Most Played Song. Alternate versions of the song featured guitar solos by Dave Navarro from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction, and Vernon Reid from Living Colour.

15. 1994 - "Any Time, Any Place"

"Any Time, Any Place" was the fifth single from Janet Jackson's 1993 album, janet. It remained at the top of the Billboard RandB chart for ten weeks and peaked at number two on the Hot 100.

16. 1990 - "Escapade"

"Escapade" from Janet Jackson's 1989 Rhythm Nation 1814 hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100, RandB, and Hot Dance Club Play charts. it was the third of the historic seven top five singles released from the album.

17. 1986 - "Nasty"

Janet Jackson won a MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography for her "Nasty" video in 1987. The song also won an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/RandB Single.

18. 1993 - "if"

"If" from the 1993 album janet won a BMI Pop Award for Most Played Song, Best Female Video and Best Dance Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, and a Billboard Award for Dance Clip of the Year.

19. 1990 - "Alright"

"Alright" from Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 received 1991 Grammy nominations for Best RandB Vocal Performance, Female and Best RandB Song. It also broke Madonna's record as the fourth consecutive single from the album to reach number one on the Billboard dance chart.

20. 1998 - I Get Lonely"

From Janet Jackson's 1998 The Velvet Rope album, "I Get Lonely" was Jackson's twelfth number one hit on the Billboard RandB chart. it was also her eighteenth consecutive top ten hit on the Hot 100, setting a record as the only female performer to achieve that feat, and only the third artist ever following Elvis Presley and The Beatles. The song earned Grammy Award nomination for Best Female RandB Vocal Performance.
