Britney Spears May Have Just Gone from Princess of Pop to Queen of Shade

It all started when a fan made a remark to Iggy regarding her and Britney’s springtime collaboration ‘Pretty Girls.’

The girly anthem, which came with an accompanying video and all, only peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 100. That’s sort of a dud when you go halfsies with the princess of pop on a track, and it appears fans noticed too.

The fan wrote:

Even if PG (Pretty Girls) flopped a little but [it] still got a lot of views on YT (Youtube) and it’s the summer anthem of 2015, so whatever we love you!

In which Iggy responded:

Its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. Unfortunately Im just featured.

Iggy Azalea Claps Back for Britney Spears Comment About Pretty Girls 2

We’re not sure if by ‘featured’ Iggy is implying that the song is more Britney Spears’ and less Iggy’s, but according to the song credits, it’s a 50-50 collaboration with both women mutually owning rights to the song.

Meanwhile, B-fans and media ran with what they felt was shade from Iggy’s way addressed to Britney. Once Iggs got the word that her comment went viral, she did what she did best and added a little fuel to the fire:

My comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans asshole 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls.

Here we go!

pretty much let it be known that Iggy was bumbling with the wrong ‘B’ with this shade-filled tweet:

Can’t wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe

Britney Spears Responds to Rapper Iggy Azalea for Comment About Pretty Girls

The slick comment referencing being booked was most likely a jab at the Aussie rapper for calling off yet another tour this year. Although critics speculated that Iggy cancelled her ‘Great Escape Tour’ due to low ticket sales, the newly engaged rapper expressed to Seventeen Magazine that she simply needed a break after an intense 2-year run in the industry:

Mentally, to be honest with you, I just feel I deserve a break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day…I need a break from everything to just enjoy what I worked so hard for, and I don’t really feel like I’ve had a chance to do that.

It can kind of wear on you, too, when you’ve been doing the same material for a really long time. I feel like I’m at the end of an era now. To go on a tour in late September and to stay in that mindset of what I’d envisioned for that tour, I feel like that would stifle me.

The interesting part about all of this is that, some artists’ names are big enough that their singles –if good– just sort of sells itself. Britney and Iggy may only be but a few years apart, but reality is, the singer has been in the business for nearly 2 decades, and has a solid fanbase. The question is whether or not her name can still sell the records without the additional promo . ‘Pretty Girls’ had a cute video but the track was definitely mediocre. (The song only peaked at #29 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with 79 million views on Youtube.)

Although Iggy probably would have been better off keeping the comment to herself to avoid any unnecessary drama, one thing she was right about is that it does take a lot of work to get a record to climb to the top of the charts. For instance Miguel first introduced the track ‘Adorn’ on his Art Dealer Chic, Vol. 1 mixtape in February 2012, and he also released in an accompanying video. The song didn’t really pick up and start charting until August of that year, and Miguel released a second video for the track, included the song on his Kaleidoscope Dream album, and Wiz Khalifa hopped on the remix. It went on to be one of the biggest records of that year and the only song in the history of the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts to sit at number 1 for more than 20 weeks.

50 Cent also recently revealed that Jeremih’s record ‘Down On Me’ wasn’t getting the right push in 2011, so he stepped in and did a viral video with Youtuber Keenan Cahill that was featured on Chelsea Lately and eventually garnered over 51 million views on the web. That helped push the track to #4 on the Billboard and it sold over 2 million digital downloads.

The moral of the story: It takes more than a hot video to push a record and every record isn’t going to chart at #1. (‘Feeling Myself’ had a hot high-profile video and only peaked at #39 on Billboard). In this day and age of short attention spans, and the word ‘flop’ being thrown around without really knowing the numbers, it’s almost impossible to measure the success of a record in just a few weeks.

It was pretty much a replica of what Rihanna said to Ciara back during their beef ... unoriginal

Naw boo boo, Rihanna's diss to Ciara was more of a read and its expected from her.  This is some pure unadulterated shade and I love it. Im wondering what kind of queens Britney has surrounded herself with to have her feeling her pussy like this. -_-
