And to think she hasn't been in the top ten on that chart since STCML, and most of those 23 come from 5 albums.

This is what so many people overlook. During Janet's dominance, both Madonna and Mariah released eight studio albums (not including Immaculate Collection, Evita, Unplugged, Merry Christmas, and #1s, all of which produced noteworthy singles/sales). Whitney released seven studio albums (including all three soundtracks and excluding the fact that she was still riding on her debut the Control era began). Janet's position among them with only five studio albums and one compilation is a true testament to her power and success.

Exactly. Just imagine if Janet kept releasing and releasing like they did...she would be the top female on all the charts.

Statistically, that would be true.

We also might not have had such quality albums though, so it works both ways. Mariah was all singles, save for two albums, and Madonna had some really shitty album material.

True again -_- I think the next album will have some great quality music compared to the previous two albums -_-

I can do nothing but cosign. -_-

And people overlook her chart stats too. Between 1986 and 2001, every song she released went top 10 (with the exception of TPP). 18 consecutive top tens on the Hot 100, 25 consecutive top tens on the R&B chart, and 33 total top 10s on the Dance chart with all of them going top ten with the exception of BC. Even with all of their releases, Mariah nor Madonna could match those stats. Such a shame all this gets overlooked. :sigh:

She's already at ~140mil records as we speak. Her record sales would be around 170mil if not more had she released commercial fluff in 1988, 1991, 1996, and 1999.

Exactly. Reminds me of this. Look at how many times her name appears (let alone where it should appear, such as second place for most number ones from an album and such). Five albums. Not thirty like Elton, twenty-seven like The Beatles, twenty-three like Elvis, thirteen like Mariah, eleven like Madonna, ten like Michael, nine like Whitney, etc. FIVE. And she's standing beside them all. Janet's power at her prime is unprecedented.

PREACH MY BLACK BROTHER! *Black Power fist*

And there's THIS as well. AND she ranked #7 on Billboard's All Time Top Artists, the highest for a Black female, with count them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 albums. And not only ranking #7, but beating out everyone above her in Billboard Awards.
