Bailey
Nothing wrong with Vegas, but seems she's not headed that way.If Celine's a has-been with all her success, so is Janet.Celine is a poor comparison they built an entire building for Celine's residency, it was obvious that hers was a much more lucrative deal. Besides I want Janet to see the fans that are in fact out here wanting to reconnect. Not everyone is going to fly to Vegas for Janet, and when I did so for UCAP there were people in the audience that werent even fans they were just taking in a show

Janet gets her money from "people just taking in a show" that's the game. Fans selfishly want her to cater to them but hardcore fans don't fill up multiple stadiums. The fans "out here waiting" are not enough to pay for the sound, rig, stage, band, wardrobe, make up, travel, food, hotel accommodations etc. Personally, I hope if she goes back on tour soon it sells out. But she needs more than hardcore fans to do that. A residency might not be great for hardcore fans, but on a business level it works. Lastly, it would be believed a good number of hardcore fans will travel for a show - they do every tour season. Some seeing 3-5 shows in diff states. Other concertgoers attend out of convenience. 1

Obviously we don't think she's going to sell out Kanas arenas but she'll do fine in major cities. Its not about catering to her fans... If the tickets are in a solid ballpark, Janet will do fine on tour. She doesn't need the money or convenience like Celine, Brit, and/or Jennifer. Edited April 18, 2017 by KellyGame

wayneashleymusic
Just some honesty hour here... As we all know, Janet SHOULD be selling out large stadiums and arenas like Madonna, Cher, etc. because that's the level of superstar/icon/trailblazer that she is.  But when you suffer a decade long blacklist from radio and tv, it really impeded her ability to keep that relationship going, and grow new fans for the next generation.  All of that said, the few dates Janet did do for Unbreakable prove that she can support a great tour.  If she launches a similar format to Unbreakable (small core of dancers, less elaborate sets, etc.) and just trade out for some smaller venues (5,000-10,000 seats per city, upsize in select locations), she'll have a very successful tour, and make more than enough money to cover costs and turn a profit.  I went to the Unbreakable tour in New Orleans (driving in from Houston) and the Smoothie King Center was about 90 percent full... at least 15,000 fans there.  In a smaller venue, she'd sell out all of the initial shows, and maybe even consider multiple dates in each city, which cuts down on back to back travel.

I have a friend who says she can't afford a large scale production anymore, but don't think that's the case at all.Janet is on the A-list... One of the top performers of all time! She deservers and have so much more potential! I look back at the Rock Witchu Tour... That's the structure I'd love to see again! I love that show, the sets, video interludes, the way the show tells a story. I love those things!Same for the janet. World Tour... The stage was so beautiful and imponent! Anyway... I don't know she's afraid of something, insecure or if its a creative thing... But although I love some stuff they did on the Unbreakable Tour, it's definitely not my favorite.

That's late and tired. Anyway, the purpose of that tour was to rebuild her touring career, so that she could do bigger things touring wise. She just needs to promote and not postpone again...prove that she's reliable, because many are starting to think that she isn't. 1

Your catty ass post was that they need the money, and Janet doesn't. They have the money - that Janet doesn't have. You're attacking moot points just to seem like you're some die hard fan. Shut up lol you sound stupid. It has nothing to do with us thinking JLo is hot - we think she's been successful, & her fan base has kept her that way. Whether vocalist or pop artist the business acumen is the same. Janet's touring rep has struggled because of inconsistency whether her fault or not. That's the facts.
Bailey
I didn't find the stage for Unbreakable disappointing, I did think instead of projection she needed video screens because the one she does have seats back behind so much else. The lighting of Unbreakable was phenomenal. I just think of some of the shows Ive seen and the things they can do with tech now, I saw JT and his whole damn stage lifted up, and he had that massive screen in the back that fired lasers and shit. The thing with Janet is she's known for elaborate shows and that's included costume changes and sets that were huge.

Who cares how much money each one of them has... Which one has build a legacy by themselves? Not Celine.. not JLo.. not BritneyJLo is successful mostly in the acting field.. especially in recent historyGrand. And plotting her in Pop Retirement Home will not do much to deter that image. You see why you're such a joke around here right? Claiming a new mother doesn't need "convenience" means you much rather put her & her child through up & downs of flight travel - which is torture on a child. Ears popping every other day for the child & different exposure to different elements. Their immune systems are not that strong. So......Instead of the catty bragging rights you're trying to make a standard for Janet - if ANYTHING right now that "convenience" would be ideal for parenting. Your so fucking weird man lol. It's ridiculous.
