The tour isn't for casual fans now? When did she tweet this?

IDK where they that get that shit from but it sounds dumb :lmao: If anything the "Unbreakable" album was for the fans but she tours for everyone. This State of the World tour is for every damn body.

I just frequently notice how y'all tend to assume certain things when it's convenient for your argument. Any other time it's "...from her lips." No matter how "obvious."

Exactly! They were down our throats for assuming stuff about Janet but now they're assuming this tour isn't for casuals.

If the tour was for "everyone" not only would she go out of her way to promote it, so everyone can know it exists, the setlist would not have as many album tracks from every album from RN-DJ whilst the hits that everyone knows are only featured. It's common sense that she's not here for the casual fans this era, if she was she'd have done alot of things that she's done on her own before. She didn't have to say it she shows it.

Assuming whether or not she's actually pregnant, assuming her marriage wasn't happy, & assuming she wouldn't continue the tour isn't the same. Knowing that everything from Unbreakable to right now isn't for everybody isn't assuming, it's evident in what she does and how she does it, it's for the fans  that would appreciate it most, not the ones who need reminding.

They said Dallas was sold out tonight.

2 of my friends were there tonight. I guess my friend got his wife surprise bday tickets. We'll see. Even if it wasn't it was definitely a lot of people there. She went a little extra hard going off to Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" lol

She named the tour State of the WORLD, not state of the fandom. She's playing for the whole world.

She hasn't done interviews or much of a promotion in years and I don't think staying out of the public and social media has much to do with to whom this tour was meant to. I believe that at this point in her life she doesn't care what people thinkShe has obligations for LN, she's fulfilling them while having a blast and whoever jumps on board is welcome to join in the fun. I think she's singing songs she enjoys singing now and it doesn't have to be deeper than that.

You do know that’s a name of a song and not some random title  ??????? wow. SOTW is a social conscience song. And she’s only performing in Canada & USA (for now) You sounded so confident in that bull shit answer.

The setlist alone is enough proof that this tour isn’t for the casual yet I’m sure they will still enjoy it. Just not as much as her real fans

Ok we need to get some more Texan perspectives in here...

First of all, the crowds in Houston and Dallas were solid. Austin and San Antonio are two metros that are 1) about half the size of Big H or Big D and 2) much closer together.  For all the noise about Austin being a music city, a lot of bigger acts skip playing there outside of SXSW or ACL which is when celebs take over the city.

But what performing in Austin can do, even if you take a ticket loss?? Get some cred with the college crowd. I know for some fans that's insulting to say, but keep in mind that Janet is still being discovered by younger generations thanks to the ridiculous industry blackout.

One other note... they closed off the top tier of Frank Erwin which reduced her available seating from 10,000 to probably 6500 or so. So she took a small hit in Austin, but recouped in SA and Dallas, and made some lifelong Texas fans along the way.

So I'm back! I had to step away so I didn't get any spoilers and I'm so glad I did that! She killed it last night in Dallas. SOTW has shaped up to he my favorite for a few reasons. By far this is the best put together set list she has done. She remained VERY on theme with this set list. To me the opening of this show is the most impactful & when she walks out like a GENERAL I couldn't contain myself. Also, NO ONE can tell me there is no value in fans consistently asking & pushing for things. The "don't complain be thankful" mindset would not have gotten us - 24PLAY, Island Life, The Body that Loves You, New Agenda - LIKE WTF!! I love the relevance of the concept & this is the Janet I fell in love with. The one who sttacks things head on. ALSO there's so much meaning in it. The Bodak Yellow is performed during WHYDFML - knowing her relationship status the lyrics "You couldn't fuck with me if you wanted to, I don't gotta dance I make money moves, quick to cut a Nigga off so don't get comfortable" mixed with WHYDFML is a direct shot.

I have so much I want to say but I know this post can get long, but I'll say Janet delivered the best she has delivered in MANY years.

Honestly idk if fans will like this said or not but the truth is, the "breakdown" & cry is a part of the act. She's not breaking down every night because it's too emotional. She's performing it like she did on VR a& like she used to "cry" during Again back on the Janet tour. She literally cries on cue, says the same thing, & mixes it with the show. So MAYBE some nights it does hit her hard, but every show seems to get the "this is me" & covered face and break down. So I don't think this is her not being able to naturally contain herself. The dancers & band even seem to know it's coming & wait for it & know when to move after it. The lighting is even prepared for it. IJS

I do know it's a song. It was a joke, but you take everything here so seriously that you didn't get it. Sorry I forgot to add "just kidding".

My point was that I think she's performing songs SHE likes singing at this point in her life, not necessarily picking them based on what fans like the most. But what do I know, I'm not part of her creative team.

Rigggght it was a shit joke

No. She’s performing songs her deep base knows. Casual fans don’t know Well Travelled, Island Life, Spending Time... Knowledge, New Agenda, etc

And you seem like a shit person... attacking other fans when they don't' agree with you on something and acting like some kind of a superior fan.

Fine, you think that way about the setlist, I can understand that point of view too, maybe you're right, I don't know. But unlike you, I'm not going to start calling you a fake fan just cause I don't necessarily agree with you on some matter.

Hi! I’m King Game! And I’m the forum’s asshole; defender of the Goddess for 17 years and counting

Sweet!!!!
