the confusion lives.... the contradictions melt... we're left alone with Jimmy and Terry They are all I need... They are the breath I breathe... Chile... I'm not saying that Janet can't be great without Jimmy and Terry. My argument is that when the three of them are in the studio, the entity known as Janet Jackson is elevated to a higher frequency. A frequency that transforms Janet's music into a mirror and I can see myself in it. When she was working with other producers, nothing was reflected.

Michael K. Williams Has a Story You Need to Read to BelieveThe Emmy-nominated actor from The Night Ofon The Wire, Star Wars, and how Janet Jackson changed his life. In that case, it makes sense that Williams’s artistic awakening came courtesy of Janet Jackson. In 1989, while in his early 20s, Williams had seemingly righted his career path. He had gotten the drug addiction that derailed his teens under control, and had a stable job managing blueprints for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Then he saw the music video for Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation.” “My spirit was stirred by the visual images that were shown . . . different people, some tall, some short, male, female, light-skinned, dark-skinned,” Williams told NPR last year. “It wasn’t just everybody was pretty with perfect teeth. You saw some jagged edges . . . and when they all came together, they moved like one.” “The message of the song—about getting rid of color lines, not judging—I just identified with it across the board, and I was like, ‘I want to become a Janet Jackson background dancer,’” Williams has said. “‘I think she will understand me.’” Williams quit his job managing someone else’s blueprints, and started drawing his own. He fired up his VHS player, recorded all of Jackson’s music videos, and watched them until he learned how to count steps. He calls himself “a hack,” but he mined a seven-year career dancing in music videos and on tours for Madonna,Missy Elliott, Crystal Waters, andGinuwine. The informal education did have one early drawback: “A friend of mine challenged me to a Janet Jackson dance competition, and I made a complete ass out of myself because up until that moment I’d watch her, and I’d go the exact same way with her as the television,” he laughs. “When you’re dancing with her, you’ve got to go theopposite of the fucking TV. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/08/michael-k-williams-emmy-interview

Michael K. Williams' interview with Vanity Fair... https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/08/michael-k-williams-emmy-interview “From some of the characters I play now, you’d probably think I was about The Godfather [growing up],” Williams says. “But the movies that inspired me early on were weird—like Saturday Night Fever, Purple Rain, and Grease. I like musicals.” In that case, it makes sense that Williams’s artistic awakening came courtesy of Janet Jackson. In 1989, while in his early 20s, Williams had seemingly righted his career path. I wanna know why in the hell are y'all discussing KKK and Nazi's in the Janet section of the forum? If you don't like what we're discussing here then simply leave out of the topic and go to another. WTF is so hard about that? Take that other stuff to the free-xone where it belongs

Ugh!!! That interlude leads me into my favorite song on the album. I'm gonna buy Damita Jo on itunes right now

Smh. Critics don't define what is good or not. They're opinions that don't matter. Funny you go through the forum telling ppl their opinions don't matter yet you're here trying to validate yours with some other people's. This will be our last exchange on this topic...because your lack of intelligence is kinda embarrassing to even engage.

Exactly! Janet is Janet with Jimmy & Terry.. They have worked together for years and knows Janet inside and out. They are a family, a family that may have house guests but not JD and a party. Thats what makes classic Janet... That’s what listeners fell in love with. Coke-a-Cola is amazing... Coke-a-Cola with a hint of lime.. ehhh

Well this is a Janet forum so On the Free Xone section of this forum there's a thread to talk about that which we've done already. You can go there if you want to discuss politics lol. I see the media has you too. These people have been around for decades and have been having marches or whatever. The media is doing that shit to take away from what's going on in the white house but I ain't falling for it #staywoke

Exactly! They need to stop thinking everything Jimmy and Terry touch turns to Gold when it comes to Janet. Who said quality equals sales? I said if the album would've sold more no way y'all would be bashing it like y'all are now Boom! I'm one of those people. I'm gonna buy a Janet album regardless and I don't look for "quality". I know she's gonna have at least 5 songs on there I like which is enough for me to buy an album. I listen to the album a couple of times straight through when I first get it without trying to see if it has meaningful lyrics as if that's gonna stop me from buying a Janet album. Oop! Thank You!!! Mind you Janet's last hit "Feedback" had absolutely zero to do with Jimmy and Terry so to think she needs them is asinine It made Billboard Hot 100's top 20 and sold almost 1 million copies. But All Nite was also written with the help of Jimmy and Terry lol OMG I hate that part and I don't even like Janet's vocals in the song. Originally when I got the album I listened to the song but now I skip it almost all the time. Yeah the same song you said has no substance but was written by 2 great song writers Kanye and Babyface. It had no substance because you say so? Nope. You and Jimmy are the only ones who complain about Janet having too many cooks on the album. When she had other cooks on "Discipline" it got her a top 20 even after she was still partially banned from radio.

I can't believe we only have one episode left of this season. I'm kinda mixed about how this season was..it's not better than season 6 imo, but that will probably change with the season finale. Anyway, Tyrion has really been a low point for me this season. It's not like he's engaged and I think the writers haven't fleshed out his character this season. Sansa/Arya storyline is so stupid. I can't believe they are letting Littlefinger play them like that! Hopefully, they get it together and get of his ass! And where the fuck is Bran? I'm still not shipping Jon/Dany as a couple. I don't want them together, but I know it's going to happen. And the Night KING stay winning. The true ruler of the seven kingdoms.

I'm a teeny bit annoyed that I bought my tickets before knowing about the Groupon deals. but at the end of the day, the most important thing to me is that these shows are successful. Seems like a smart decision to have shored up the under-performing cities so Janet and her crew don't have to worry about performing to empty venues, and the bad press which would result. Since I sprung for floor seats, the Groupon wouldn't have saved me much anyway.

Girl I Want You > 75% of Unbreakable. The public agrees. Get over it. and idc what you call it but it was Kanye's sound hun. Don't care about your genre semantics and how obvious samples are "stolen" Get into it. And yes Jimmy Jam & TL are certified icons and very talented hence everyone in agreement about the top 5. Where in my post did I call them untalented? Wake up out of fantasy land and how about you join the rest of us here in the real world? Aretha Franklin is a talented music icon, but I'm not gonna call her in 2017 for a record.

anyway this argument is moot, no one has even heard unbreakable besides the critics that that game boy so desperately holds on to and it isn't a substantial enough record or memorable enough to be apart of her bigger legacy! Excited for the next project tho!
