  1. Got my vinyl today. That's a single release done right! Awesome mixes. The credits are fucked up tho. No mention of Jimmy & Terry, who produced the vocals.. I had no idea Randy was the other executive producer of the song tho. Loving the transparent red color too. Def one of my favorite singles ever just cause of the artwork and amazing mixes.
  2. I dunno about streaming but radio was eager to play the song in Europe and a dj even mentioned how good it is on air, but they were not able to play because it wasn't available via official channels. So there def was potential way more than some of you claim. Even The Great Forever had a promo single for radio. MFN did not.
  3. BMG has failed with pretty much every artist they've signed so far, so I think their business isn't doing too well.
  4. Made for Now was hyped as hell when it came out and would've done much better had it been released on time instead of missing the radio premiere. I'm not crazy about it now, it's been a year and I've played the song to death but it was on repeat for months at my household, so what do you expect lol
  5. Great! UMe or UMG whatever it's called nowadays is rly the right channel for all out feedback.,
  6. Haha knowing Jimmy and Gil we'll probably get told we should be happy with what we got etc. We need to figure out a nice way to ask
  7. Oh absolutely agree. I originally asked for remastered albums on CD, but we got what we got. And the YT situation is ridiculous. I don't wanna pop in a DVD every time I wanna watch Together Again for example. The TVs nowadays scale it down to a messy looking lq video anyway. Rhythm Nation deserves an official remastered CD + Remixes CD release. Hell, throw the RN Short film in there too. The concert is on YT but a blu ray release bundle with the CD would've been epic too.
  8. We all know Janet.. She might have 3 different albums ready to be released and might end up not doing any of them lol.
  9. Mp3? I'd trade YAR if you got something I don't, but mp3s ain't stems. Unless u did with FG already
  10. No he didn't. He had no idea TA had leaked. I helped him out by giving him YAR to prove himself. Got a few things in return that I didn't have. The guy who he traded with is not exactly a nice person, and doesn't keep his end of the bargain. I almost got scammed by him a few days back. As for leaks, yeah they fking suck. Mainly cause Janet could've done something cool with them at one point but now they're out there, so I've stopped trading and holding on to the ones even those who pay for the stems are looking for. Ya'll can have MYM and stuff but the rarities stay locked up lol.
  11. Haha just a fan. I emailed Jimmy last year before Made for Now as I had a Reissue Janet-campaign on Change.org that made a few headlines and that was his response. He doesn't reply a lot so I would've preferred no response over that. I was smart enough to direct it at UMG instead of Janet & Jimmy alone, cause I knew a big label would see the potential vs. her team seeing the potential. And it worked.
  12. Totally agree with it being partially Janet's own doing - she just doesn't care for making a huge comeback and huge budget music videos. But at the same time her team is celebrating a dance no 1 like it was a global smash which makes it weird to me. I had to work my ass off to get those reissues out there, and to convince everyone there IS a huge demand for it. Jimmy told me he doesn't care about reissues and sees no point in doing them, but now he is celebrating the success of the releases. So I'm glad something I did had an impact and it was positive. But I always feel like I have to argue against, not only her core fan base but also her team to get something obvious across. Like a reissue. They're crucial in order to keep the legacy alive and to get those songs played so people don't forget. As for her outfits it's really not a huge deal but cmon. You could make a lil bit of an effort. That 90s jeans and shirt look is not gonna happen. I'm just happy she is performing and seems to be enjoying it again. Cinq made a mistakes by screwing up the release of Made for Now and it didn't have a global radio premiere for that reason. And got left out from radio play. And their team only wants opinions of certain fans, not all. Which is elitist as fuck. I know Janet could easily release another big album but European success is hard for her to achieve at this point. Even with an obvious no 1 song, the promotion would have to be aggressive as hell to break thru. But here's to hoping a new album is coming soon.
  13. I would agree with you but Janet's career has not been the same after 2004. She made several efforts to get back on the charts globally but it just never happened. There is no budget for big shows and visuals. Rock Witchu Tour proved that she couldn't break even with a big production show. Then all that stuff with Wissam, having a baby etc.. Her mind isn't exactly at breaking records right now. She's still changing things up on tour, performing songs we never thought she would. Her wardrobe has been very wtf since the new tour started but that's just what it is. Made for Now was a step in the right direction, meaning she finally stopped catering for a handful of old skool fans and went with current sounding music instead. Ask Cinq and their amateur team why it never took off. And yeah her age plays a huge role in this as well. She can't hit those high notes anymore (she said this herself in an interview), and she obviously cannot dance like 20 years ago. We can all agree we were left thirsty for huge success and global tour after her career took a fall. But it's time to move on now. It's not gonna happen. Back in 2009 it could've been possible but she left and disappeared and that alone alienated European fan base. Her team has been working overtime to try to remind people of who Janet Jackson is. And they've had success doing so. But how many times are you gonna rely on Control and Rhythm Nation? In 1998 Together Again was the second biggest single in the world. Nowadays casual music listeners don't even remember that track and radio hasn't played it for a decade. And that was her most successful single to date. It's time to move on from the illusion of her somehow going back in time to 2010 and reclaiming her throne. It just isn't going to happen. I love every single show, and song she puts out. I appreciate and will always cherish each Era. But those times are long gone. Comparing her to Madonna, who still has global appeal and success while on tour is silly. Janet does not have the same appeal anymore. Half of music listeners don't even remember her. Everyone knows who Madonna is and her team has kept her legacy alive and going. Janet's team is only now trying to remind people of who she is. IMHO the only thing I'd change is the short edits of AFY and Together Again. Especially, when performing at award shows. One or the other should be performed fully, and that would def have a bigger impact than doing a 30sec recap of both.
  14. Girls Make Beats Remix! I'd get it just for that remix. Damn! It's kind of hilarious how they admitted to screwing up the release, and when I sent them an email saying why is there no vinyl nor anything they replied with some meme and ridiculed the issue. Now that the reissued albums have proven to be successful they're rushing in to make some cash lmao. I truly hope Janet changes labels again.
  15. I'm glad the admin did the right thing. Game had been banned from every other damn forum ages back for destroying any proper conversation and bashing differing opinions, resulting in a bullying and hate. This forum is nowhere near as bad as some others, especially the one Janet's team lurks. I've left all forums but this. It was enough for me to be called an idiot and straight up bashed for making a petition to reissue Janet's albums on vinyl, which was long overdue. 99% of the feedback I received was negative and I got ridiculed. Now those same people are ordering every single reissued album and spending their money on something I started. I didn't have Jimmy, Cinq nor anyone else behind me for that matter. Quite the opposite. Jimmy never gave a damn about reissuing anything, his email reply made that much clear when I asked him to share my petition. Now he is retweeting every single positive article on how well the reissues have done in the UK. Like whatever. How did I make it happen? I knew who to direct my petition towards. Not Janet's team, especially not Jimmy and Def not Gil. Knowing Gil, he would've probably bashed the fuck outta me for even trying. I directed it at UMG that owns the rights to her music and who've done her best of releases so far. I knew they'd see an opportunity to cash in, so I went for it. A few blogs and papers mentioned the petition and here we are. I'll never get cred for making it happen, and I'm fine with that. In fact I can't even afford buying one of the vinyls myself. But it did happen and knowing that is enough for me. She made headlines by charting in the UK again due to reissues, and all the hate and "she would never do that/there is no market" bullshit has been proven invalid. People like Game are toxic to this community. But sadly, her own team is a part of this kind of elitism and supports it. After Made for Now, some PR people of Janet's team contacted selected fans to hear their feedback on what they'd like to see Janet release and do. Selected group of fans. When I found out, I created a thread asking everyone's opinions and mentioned they actually don't even want to hear from all of us, just a few elite fans. That's insane and incredibly disrespectful. And YEAH I will get down voted for speaking the truth, as always. But it's still the truth.
  16. Again, Janet was doing really well outside the US and nobody cared about her boob but Americans. JALW received more airplay than AFY. You could not miss it. Every station played once an hour, at least. Once it was deemed a flop in the states the bandwagon effect happened and radio didn't play much of the other singles, tho All Nite was a minor dance hit in Europe as well. The media might've had a field day on her situation but she was making a shitload of money at that point. As Janet herself said, it was the music. Jimmy said he thinks she should've not been making new music when she had nothing new going on in her life. Members here calling naysayers delusional are calling Janet delusional.... I personally like a few songs on the album, but my own opinion has nothing to do with this. DJ did much better than expected, especially overseas. 20 YO is when it truly was the music to blame.
  17. I don't think this applies to Europe at all tbh. Fans tend to forget she is a global superstar and Got till it's gone received heavy rotation on MTV UK and did well on the charts.
  18. Hell no. The amount of nitpicking and arguing is on another level.
  19. It was a minor hit in Europe. All nite got played a lot as did Just a Lil While. Probably the most radio play she has ever received. But overall the theme was a mess and it just didn't connect with her audience globally.
  20. Well it made her widely known globally and she was highly respected in the EU after that album. And TA is her biggest selling single of all time so I wouldn't call it a flop. Got till its gone sold like 10k in the UK. That's huge.
  21. Oh the real fan card. lmao. Nevermind then.
