  1. THIS is the song that (multiple) journalists were comparing to "Bohemian Rhapsody"? Just as well, for me; I can't stand Queen but perhaps I chose the wrong career. I was really hoping for a 180° from Deviled Heart but instead we got a complete 360°. Explaining myself would just be redundant; you guys have said it all over the last page. I'm not trying to be negative - I desperately want to be proven wrong! - but this is shaping up to be her third trainwreck in a row. Hard Candy sounds amazing these days y'all.
  2. Was RN really edited for its original vinyl release? I don't own it but I always assumed the interludes were intact, just not credited, and that the songs were unedited. I always thought double albums were unnecessary but if that's the case... What I'll definitely be buying is the Control: The Remixes reissue. Pretty colors!
  3. I love all of AFY but "Love Scene" is the only one I don't care for outside of the context of the album. The sequencing needed some shuffling + one or two more dynamic songs for the extra oomph its missing. Anyway, super excited for the EP!
  4. Got 'til It's Gone All for You That's the Way Love Goes What Have You Done for Me Lately Runaway No Sleeep Feedback Miss You Much Made for Now Young Love Call on Me Just a Little While Make Me Won't Stand Another Jackson
  5. I can't believe I have to watch another season of this piece of shit show now
  6. So jeal happy for you!! We had upper level seats but they upgraded us to the floor it was one of the best nights of my life; I share your optimism!
  7. Has she dropped “Truth”? I was really looking forward to that one Anyway I’m seeing her tonight and I’m so excited

  11. I was bummed about the lack of encore but this isn’t my first time seeing her so it’s not that big a deal for me. And I will CRY during "Truth"
  12. Is she saving "Escapade" for the encore or did she finally say fuck that shit?
  13. Bye I just caught a little of "What's It Gonna Be" and bought my tickets
  14. I'm just happy to have her releasing music more consistently.

    Serious topic

Sorry to bump an old thread but this is a really important topic. I've struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember and I was depressed for a good few years. I discovered that writing was a really helpful tool for me to clear my head but it wasn't enough to get me out of my funk. The only treatment I've received was short-term and in a group setting, which turned out to be a really valuable experience for me. It gave me a great deal of insight into why and how I'd built certain barriers throughout my life that were keeping me from achieving some sense of normality I'd desperately craved. The hardest pill for me to swallow was that a lot of it was my own doing, but what that meant for me was that I had the power to change it, which was, well, empowering. I still have work to do (after all, we're all works in progress) but I'm in a far, far better place and I'm capable of managing the day-to-day stuff now. My friends have been an amazing support system these past two years, and I couldn't have made it this far without them. I'm a mental health professional myself (I only just graduated so it's still a really weird thing to say ) so obviously I'm going to recommend seeking help to anyone going through it. There's all kinds of treatments for different issues, and all kinds of personalities working in the field, so I suggest doing your research to try to find the best fit, if you're motivated enough to. Mental health in the States is kind of in a precarious place right now but you'll find that more and more therapists are implementing sliding scales to reach anyone who might be otherwise shut out. And I apologize for sounding like a PSA but I just want to add that the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is open 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255 for anyone in immediate need. You can also text HOME to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line if you prefer. I know I said a lot but if there's anything to take away from my post, it's that life is fucking hard and support is crucial. I bumped this thread because I think it could potentially be a great outlet for us or anyone in need to see that they aren't alone.

    OK USA April 2

I hate this!!!!!!!!! I’ve been thinking about this ever since I read it
  17. omg that clip about 20 Y.O. dark times for us. Really enjoyed the documentary! Hope to hear more unreleased takes someday.
  18. That setlist has me ELATED. I can't wait to see her again.
  19. All of the singles from Control and Rhythm Nation ended up on Design of a Decade; I say skip it because you'll end up getting around to listening to those albums anyway. You can buy "Runaway" and "Twenty Foreplay" individually, can't you? I can't remember but I know the history of their digital availability has always been, well... I think Rhythm Nation is the safest place to start since it arguably has her most essential songs on it (actually it's where I started myself) but starting from Control onward chronologically is probably a more rewarding experience, as long as you actually intend to continue exploring.
