And what's really cool to me is that she did alot of the songs listed in the last 10 yrs & the last 4 tours, this is what I always wanted, her performing songs from her back catalog & acknowledging some of her eras years later just for us die-hards that have connections to the albums beyond the singles & videos & promo. I'm VERY pleased that she's performed damn near the whole janet. happy, I wish she'd perform the 3 songs on RN she hasn't yet. It's funny she's performed SO little from 20 Y.O
  2. Nah i count RWU as the start, cause thats when she started reaching back into singles (not album tracks yet). But think about it, for TVR & AFY she didnt really do past singles that weren't hits (with the exception of Throb on TVR). But RWU brought back You Want This & reached back for tour debut of the pre-control songs, & the live debut of Funny How Time Flies. To your point tho she only did the singles of DJ & 20 Thinking about that convo in Chicago with Gil takes me back to 1 of our Tinychat convos (those were the days) where back before the #1s tour he said basically he really wanted her to do album tracks, but said she always kinda had a "But only the die-hards would know that, everyone else would be confused" attitude....that...makes me so appreciative of where she is now! She gets it the casual fans that dont know it will be interested! Ive seen it! And SO many songs above we all as diehards doubted we'd ever see her acknowledge let alone perform live.
  3. Those are my top 3 of the album and I"d live for them all live, but I'd settle for JUST ENJOY, we came close at RWU, it was the closing credits to the screen. I asked Gil about it in Chicago during #1's he agreed, he said that he's been pushing that, and she loves it too, but it always ends up getting axed when they're shaping the setlist.
  4. I would love it if (like an example would be with that) she did lil moments and sections as breakdowns, like she did at the AMA's with some album tracks, some don't need a whole 1st verse & chorus, the way she did with You Want This for like 3-4 tours, throw a lil moment at us from a lesser-known track that has some moments un-used
  5. If there is 1 track off of 20 worth doing...
  6. I LOOOOOVE that she took the time out to talk about it. In defense of the "all the lyrics you see online are wrong"....remember when I said the songs production drowns her out? It'd be so cool if she re-worked it Just a thought, this tour & "era before the era" would be perfect timing to do q mass online re-release like alot of icons & Legends have been doing with their catalogs through the years. Diana Ross & New Edition albums (and their solo albums) on Spotify now have like between 18-30 tracks with b-sides, unreleased material, & official remixes....and unlike them, Janets tour supports that. But alas, everything shes performing can be found somewhere tho.

I liked this as a opening more than Come On Get Up honestly

I wish she or Jam&Lewis would do a new remix of Skin Game, her vocals are everything if you heard the acapella version (I have it but cant find it and its not on youtube anymore) , but the only problem I have ever had with the song is its production is WAY too heavy & too much period, its obvious Jam & Lewis were deep in their zone, but they drown out some really great vocals & lyrics Janet gives with having SUCH a loud, heavy & busy beat. I think it would actually make a amazing breakdown in like one of the socially conscious songs

Cissy Houston shades Janet in 1991

Eh, wasnt triggered or uneasy about it (If Whitney replaced Paula's name wit Janet I'd feel a ways), but with what I know bein a fan both Janet & Whitney for more than half my life, they both felt insecure about what they felt they lacked that the other thrived in. Whitney felt insecure about choreography & artistry in production compared to Janet. And Janet felt insecure about her voice compared to Whitney (as we heard her say in that audio documentary). They are both QUEEENS of different styles & flavors. What Cissy said wasn't even that disrespectful, I read it as "don't worry about her strengths, you got your own". The tone & wording was disrespectful.....but the point wasn't to me. What Whitney said about Paula was as disrespectful as it was 100% true tho

"Made For Now" Single Dropping Soon

.......I think we got the answer to "whats taking things so long" yesterday...her dad died & has been dying. We'll get the song when we get it, thats her dad, and what we know is at this time the family is going through it all & they're pulling through together, the song can wait. Summers just begun, and she has events & dates lined up, but lets give her her time.
  11. ........well FAUCK, RAVEN PRESENTED THAT LIKE A CHAMP, I GOT CHILLS WIT "YOU ARE THE ESSENCE OF ART, YOU ARE THE GODDESS OF PERFORMANCE, YOU ARE THE GROOVE QUEEN"!
  12. Deborah McDuffie was a product jingle queen in the 80's, and has this kickstarter to get her autobiography released with a accompanying CD/DVD with all the jingles, and apparently she worked with Janet for a Mountain Dew jingle in 1983. Working on My Janet Chapter! Janet Jackson was almost 16 when I first produced her for Mountain Dew. At that time her record producers had been doubling her voice because it was so thin. Doubling has a very distinct sound, which I personally didn't like. It gave the sound a digital, electronic feeling. I decided to record her in a pure setting and surround her with the best voices out there. Luther, James Ingram, Howard Hewett, Davis Lasely, Jennifer Holliday, Cheryl Lynn, Deniece Williams and myself all sang back-up on this Dew it To It Mountain Dew jingle I wrote for her in 1982. I produced her for Mountain Dew again in 1983. Janet Jackson's dad Joe called me one day saying the powers that be at A&M wanted to know how I got her to sound so good without doubling her voice. Ha! Ha! I'll never tell...maybe in my book! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1782025718/reign-of-the-jingle-queen-book-with-companion-cd/posts .....................................................I wanna pledge now lol. I wanna hear what that whole thing sounds like lol

"Made For Now" Single Dropping Soon

    "island inspired".........hmmmmmmm Rih Ri?
  14. Someone posted the 2nd Jingle Janet did for Mountain Dew. I think its a tad sped up & the end is clearly missing pieces THEM VOCALS!
  15. Oh shit.......what nobodies even brought up that just hit me listening to Bruno now Their harmonies together>>>>>>>>>>>
  16. Words......do no damn justice. Dance song, ballad, groove, pop, R&B, funk.....the possibilities are endless for this & the slayage is dripping from even their names together.
  17. All that xenophobia over Randy tho LaToya, Randy & Jermaine...... Anything coming from those 3 I cant take completely serious. Granted of the 3 Randy's not as bad, but what these 3 have in common is history exaggeration & extremeism. Im a Jackson-ologist & got a love/appreciation for all 9 (even Joh Vonnie) but those 3 are the ones who's words carry the least weight.

    #JJ12-Early Expectations/Speculations???

Same here, but truthfully all her best albums have this kind of life to them.

    #JJ12-Early Expectations/Speculations???

I meant to post here just randomly that most fans get way hype about tours & performances & videos more than anything else, but this is mine, new Janet music creams my corn like nothing else, and the prospect of new music ! I love the moments before the 1st release where its like "......whats this even gonna sound like?" A whole new album, new chapters to her bible, new insights, new questions, new answers, new lessons, new slayage.

Really, she didnt? So you found at least 1 source directly from her or her camp calling either of the 2 buzz singles released official 1st singles? Why have you sitting on such info... more bending the rules huh, time is "irrelevant" now keep on tryin cause that dont work either, cant compare a song released with tons of promo to a 2 week old release, thats like a beginner or bitter troll tactic song is "bad" according to who? You? What are Billboard & Rolling Stone & most critics saying? Sooo according to you, how any song charts is a reflection of an artists talent now? Yet the reviews are hyping her up for her voice, is that what all these reaches are about?

Ah continuing to make up the rules, yet again you brought up iTunes over buzz singles the DAYS after they were released So songs released and heavily promoted a month ago are the same as a song released 2 weeks ago now In your opinion, and what you're going by is suggesting a artist is only "the shit" if they dont flop. If she does or when she does nobody who think shes the shit is gonna stop over sales.

But Itunes charts mattered when it was about buzz singles somehow... Youre letgit admitting youre making the rules up as you go Plus what does the older songs positions have to do with anything, theyve been promoted heavier, that makes no sense, itd make more to compare to songs released the same time (why am I having to teach you to troll) Why do reach so hard for a chick you think so little of? Like damn she got a tighter hold on you than she does on any chart

    The Official Legendtina Aguilera Thread

I LEGIT love that you waited for this song to fall out of the itunes top 20 (which it stayed in until this weekend) to troll. That needs the explaining, your word on flopping hard isnt credible, if it didnt make itunes top 20 (or #1 on there period) and with it being the 1st single youd have a point, but since it did you having to wait weeks to say anything about its positions is all too telling
