Mr. Wonder
I remember one rule where if you've been in the Top 50 for x period of time, once you drop beneath 50, u drop off from the Hot 100 altogether but i duno if that applies to the songs above That's probably what it is. A lot of Janet's songs during the RN and janet. eras were in the top 50 even after 20 something weeks. That's dumb because that effects the songs chart life and accuracy of how big a hit was. Btw, do u know what u studying this semester? Same law stuff as before.

---
Also just read this: For many years, a song had to be commercially available as a single to be considered for any of Billboard's charts. At the time, instead of using SoundScan or BDS, Billboard obtained its data from manual reports filled out by radio stations and stores. According to the 50th Anniversary issue of Billboard, prior to the official implementation of Nielsen SoundScan tracking in November 1991, many radio stations and retail stores removed songs from their manual reports after the associated record labels stopped promoting a particular single. Thus songs fell quickly after peaking and had shorter chart lives. In 1990, the country singles chart was the first chart to use SoundScan and BDS. They were followed by the Hot 100 and the R&B chart in 1991. Today, all of Billboard's charts use this technology.

If that's the case, some of Janet's singles should have 30+ weeks on the chart.

---
RECURRENT RULES Songs are removed from the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 100 Airplay simultaneously after 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and if ranking below No. 50. Songs are removed from Hot Country Songs after 20 weeks if ranking below No. 10 in detections or audience, provided that they are not still gaining enough audience points to bullet or if they rank below No. 10 and post a third consecutive week of audience decline, regardless of total chart weeks. Songs are removed from Mainstream Top 40, Rock Songs, Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop, Rhythmic, Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts after 20 weeks if ranking below No. 20. Descending songs are removed from Adult Contemporary, Adult Top 40 and Adult R&B after 20 weeks if ranking below No. 15, after 26 weeks if ranking below No. 10, or after 52 weeks if ranking below No. 5. Descending songs are removed from the Alternative, Triple A, Active Rock, Heritage Rock, Christian Songs, Hot Christian AC Songs, Hot Gospel Songs, Hot Dance Airplay and Smooth Jazz Songs charts after 20 weeks and if ranking below No. 15. http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/charts/charts-legend dunno what the rule was back then
---
he older songs are still tracked on a recurrent chart, but if they were not removed, eventually the Hot 100 would clog up and there would be little chance for newer songs to gain a berth on the chart. Songs that are still bulleting on the chart are exempted from the removal rule. A bullet indicates a song is gaining in airplay and/or sales Edited September 12, 2011 by I'm Janet

Mr. Wonder
^^^"Feel It Boy" gets overlooked and I don't know why. It's a good song. Some of the chart runs aren't complete cuz Billboard doesn't list all the weeks for Janet's older albums per se, and some of the singles too.
