In February, [Kwasi] Asare solicited a $20 million investment from the undercover agent for an alleged concert tour headline by Jackson, the filing claims. On March 8, the agent wired $25,000 from New York to an account number provided by Lamica as a down payment on the Jackson tour. On April 7, the agent met with Asare, Lamica, Ganiere and fourth defendant Kevin Carricker in Las Vegas, where the agent was pressured to pay an additional $2 million “as soon as possible,” the complaint alleges. A week later, Randy Jackson, the brother and manager of Janet Jackson, told FBI investigators he didn’t know the defendants and that his famous sister had not committed to a “2019 JJ Concert Tour or any concert.” The defendants were expected to go before a judge in federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
