Escapade
Bruno Mars: He's had a string of hit songs and collaborations with some of music's biggest stars. Even legends like Janet Jackson want to work with him. "I've been in love with Janet Jackson since I was seven years old so, Miss Jackson, I'm here waiting for you", said Mars. TwistedElegance™
Jessica Mauboy inspired by Janet for her latest album: “I’ve really grown a lot and that’s feeding my songwriting. I’ve kinda twisted it a little bit with the music. I still want to keep the R’n'B sound but we’re adding a little bit of rock to it too. I’ve always loved classic rock like AC/DC, U2 and Coldplay, and I grew up with people like Janet Jackson, who always used electric guitars and stuff so I’m excited to try that.” http://www.theprophetblog.net/jessica-mauboy-inspired-by-rock-music-and-janet-jackson-for-sophomore-album
Escapade
Eliza Doolittle is the latest British songbird trying to break out in the U.S. Who were some of the musicians that you were watching? I used to watch Michael Jackson videos all the time. And obviously my music’s not like that, but all the music I was listening to when I was little is really different to what I do. Destiny’s Child I loved, Beyonce, Janet Jackson – and when I was really young, I was into the Spice Girls. http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2011/02/24/eliza-doolittle/
cnd
Stephen Colbert: "In Libya this could be the end for strongman and exhausted Lionel Ritchie impersonator Moammar Gadhafi. With any luck we'll get to see citizens storm the Palace and Moammar's posse of 40 to 50 female bodyguards defend him. "That news footage will be golden. The menacing click-clack of razor-sharp 5-inch stiletto heels. Choreographed waves of 6-foot amazons spin-kicking protesters in the jaw. It'll be like a Janet Jackson video." http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/02/26/2092881/laugh-attacks-humorists-comments.html

Accordingly, we are profoundly honored, and believe it is most fitting, that her performance in the Louvre Museum will be yet another masterpiece captured under our glorious glass Pyramid (the iconic Louvre addition designed by I.M. henrietta.
Floperi on her influences: In her video for "Pretty Girl Rock," Hilson takes on some of her biggest musical influences -- from Josephine Baker, to Diana Ross, Janet Jackson and TLC -- but says that despite the nature of her lyrics, the intent of the video was to reflect on the stories of these groundbreaking women. "It was important that we show women who are not only physically beautiful, it was less about that and more about their story," she says. "When you look at what they did and who they were and how society went through a period of shunning them for being who they are... they made no apologies and were just themselves." Adding, "That made them more beautiful than any physical feature could have." http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/02/keri-hilson-talks-pretty-girl-rock-inner-beauty-and-her-dream-collaboration.html ----------------------- There was an interview she did where she said Janet was her biggest influence, but I can't find it anymore.
