  1. Vocal could've been stronger, but yes the second best unreleased track from the DJ sessions.
  2. Alanis Morissette on Janet “I have been obsessed with Janet Jackson for as long as I can remember,” she shared. “I remember having gone to see her perform when I was 15 in Toronto, and there was something about having watched her perform that day that just kind of put a spell on me, and I think I was with my manager at the time.” “I remember turning to him and saying… basically said something along the lines of, ‘I now am very clear about what I want to do with my life,'” she concluded. https://etcanada.com/news/683968/alanis-morissette-talks-musical-inspirations-and-the-first-song-she-heard-by-her-husband/
  3. Everything included, I think j. was bigger on a global scale. But stateside, an argument could be made.
  4. Whitney doing "Control" is always a good one. And the sax cover LWA by Alexander Ethan is really good. https://music.apple.com/pa/album/smooth-sax-tribute-to-janet-jackson/211726127?l=en
  5. That's one thing I can say about the debut. The "ehh" songs aren't bad, they're just not as good as the others. And for that reason, I hold that 20YO isn't too much better than the debut.
  6. Opposite. LAMBF and FY are snoozefests. Those two and CGYLTM are the only ehh tracks. Everything else is pretty good for what the songs are.
  7. It's the default greatest for casual fans. But real ones know it's the one with the most hits.
  8. Well, Slant didn't rank them. They did something, but it wasn't ranking them.
  9. I was hoping this was track by track thing. Totally disappointed.
  10. This list will change again a in a few years. So I'm not bothered. I knew Control was gonna be added, but TVR and RN1814 should be in the top half. The top 200 is outright laughable. Imagine thinking some of those artists have better albums than Stevie's classical period.
  11. And that's exactly why I said ya'll did way too damn much. Which is right on brand for you anyway.
  12. A lot of ya'll did far more than what was necessary.
  13. Her social media posts, namely Twitter and IG, are just embarrassing. I've had to mute her on Twitter because her posts are just annoying at this point, and whoever is running her account is not doing her any favors. It's been ten years and she still hasn't properly adapted to social media, and will continue to get left in the dust if she doesn't. With new music coming out, now would be the time to be promoting herself, but the team would rather give 15 mins of fame to random ppl. She's really useless on social media. Like why are you here if you're gonna be boring?
  14. With So Many Hot 100 Records Falling, Here Are 14 That Have Continued to Hold Strong Most consecutive Hot 100 entries hitting the top 10: Janet Jackson (18, record set in 1998) After "The Pleasure Principle," her sixth and final charting single off breakout album Control, peaked at No. 14 on the Hot 100, Janet Jackson went on an absurd run of her next 18 Hot 100 entries (from Rhythm Nation leader "Miss You Much" in 1989 to The Velvet Rope's "I Get Lonely" in 1998) all hitting the top 10. That passed Madonna's record of 17 straight top 10 hits from 1984 to 1989, and was snapped only by Janet's featured appearance on Shaggy's "Luv Me, Luv Me," which peaked at No. 76 later that year. (As a lead artist, Janet wouldn't miss the top 10 until 2001's No. 28-peaking "Son of a Gun [I Betcha Think This Song Is About You].") Most top five Hot 100 hits from the same album: Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 (seven, record set in 1990) While Michael Jackson's long-standing record for the most Hot 100 No. 1s from the same album (five, from 1987's Bad) was finally tied in the last decade by Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, sister Janet's similarly historic mark of seven top five hits from her 1989 blockbuster LP Rhythm Nation 1814 -- "Miss You Much," "Rhythm Nation," "Escapade," "Alright," "Come Back to Me," "Black Cat," "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" -- has still stood tall. Teenage Dream, and its six top five hits, has come the closest in the decades since. https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9433090/hot-100-records-still-unbroken-beatles-mariah
  15. Juice WRLD's 'Legends Never Die' & The 27 Other Albums With Five or More Top 10 Hot 100 Hits Janet Jackson, 'Control,' 1986-87 After two essentially unheralded albums, Jackson's new sound, courtesy of producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, helped her 1986 breakthrough rally a parade of Hot 100 hits, including the first of 10 career No. 1s. Top 10s: "What Have You Done for Me Lately," No. 4; "Nasty," No. 3; "When I Think of You," No. 1 (two weeks); "Control," No. 5; "Let's Wait Awhile," No. 2 Janet Jackson, 'Rhythm Nation 1814,' 1989-91 After Janet's fourth album tied the record of seven top 10s set by brother Michael and Bruce Springsteen, she surpassed them: Each of this set's singles reached the top five, an achievement still unmatched. She may have extended her record to eight, as "State of the World" was a top five airplay hit in 1991, but the song was never released as a commercially available single and was therefore ineligible to chart on the Hot 100 under chart rules at the time. Top 10s: "Miss You Much," No. 1 (four weeks); "Rhythm Nation," No. 2; "Escapade," No. 1 (three weeks); "Alright," No. 4; "Come Back to Me," No. 2; "Black Cat," No. 1 (one week); "Love Will Never Do (Without You)," No. 1 (one week) Janet Jackson, 'janet.,' 1993-94 For her next move, Janet pulled a hat trick. Six top 10s from janet. made the pop/R&B superstar the first act to notch five or more top 10 hits from three albums. Of her last 19 Hot 100 entries over the three sets, only one ("The Pleasure Principle") missed the top 10 (and it still rose to No. 14). Top 10s: "That's the Way Love Goes," No. 1 (eight weeks); "If," No. 4; "Again," No. 1 (two weeks); "Because of Love," No. 10; "Any Time, Any Place"/"And On and On," No. 2; "You Want This"/"70's Love Groove," No. 8 https://www.billboard.com/photos/6738611/albums-five-top-10-hot-100-hits
