  1. RIRI SCORES DOUBLE DOMINATION ATOP BILLBOARD 200, HOT 100

As Rihanna soaks in the success of Unapologetic,” which, as previously reported, becomes her first Billboard 200 No. 1 album, bowing with 238,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, she maintains her No. 1 ranking on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with the set’s lead single, Diamonds.

Rihanna is just the second artist this year to lead both of Billboard’s signature album and song rankings simultaneously. Adele doubled up atop the tallies, respectively, the weeks of Feb. 4 and 11 with “21″ and the set’s third Hot 100 No. 1, “Set Fire to the Rain.”

Diamondsshines again atop the Hot 100, fueled prominently by its 8% gain on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, where it holds at No. 2 with 126 million all-format audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. It tallies a third week atop On-Demand Songs with 1.08 million on-demand streams (up 3%) (and 1.24 million overall streams), according to BDS. “Diamonds” dips 1-2 on Hot Digital Songs, although it increases by 3% to 176,000 downloads sold, according to SoundScan.

Diamonds (atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for an eighth week) handily wins the race to No. 1 on the Hot 100, leading Ke$ha’s “Die Young” (3-2) by approximately 5,000 chart points. “Diamonds” gains by 5% in overall points, while “Young” surges by 7%. The latter title pushes 5-3 on Hot 100 Airplay (115 million, up 7%), while remaining at No. 4 on Hot Digital Songs (151,000, up 14%) and slipping 2-3 on On-Demand Songs (870,000, down 4%).

  2. Alicia Keys 1st Week album sales predictions are in

Shockingly, Alicia Keys is set to encounter the lowest first week sales of her career with new album ‘Girl on Fire.

‘Girl on Fire’ is on course to enter the Billboard 200 at #1 next week with sales of 150-175k copies. Such numbers showcase a huge decline from the 417k units that her last album ‘The Element of Freedom’ sold when it debuted at #2 on the chart in December 2009.

Even her debut album ‘Songs in A Minor’ (previously her lowest first week album seller) did better having amassed 236k copies during its first week on the Billboard 200 in June 2001. That album went on to sell over 6.3 million copies in the States overall. It’s been a very bad year for R&B acts this year. Damn.

  3. Rihanna Taking Over The World With New Album & Single

That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!”

RiRi is dominating charts from all over the world with “Unapologetic“, her 7th studio album, and “Diamonds”, the first single. Here are a few numbers

    • “Diamonds” has reached No. 1 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Luxembourg and Austria.
    • “Diamonds” is No. 1 on the World Singles Top 40, which means it’s the most popular track worldwide at the moment. The track is her 10th worldwide No. 1, making Rihanna the artist with the 4th most #1s (shared with Beatles), only behind Madonna, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
    • “Diamonds” has also reached Top 5 in Ireland, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and more.
    • “Unapologetic” has debuted at No. 1 in the United States, United Kingdom and Switzerland so far. The album has also debuted into the Top 10 in Ireland, Germany, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands and Austria so far.

Rihanna Scores 12th No. 1 Hit With 'Diamonds'

Rihanna is shining extra bright on the charts. The pop princess scores her 12th No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with “Diamonds.”

The song, produced by Stargate and Benny Blanco, jumps 2-1 based on airplay and digital sales, displacing Maroon 5’s “One More Night.” Rihanna now has 12 No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 including “Umbrella,” “Disturbia,” and last year’s chart-topper “We Found Love.”

“‘Diamonds’ is @Rihanna’s 12th number one, at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Single chart this week!” tweeted her label Def Jam.

The 24-year-old singer surpasses Whitney Houston (11) and Janet Jackson (10), and ties Madonna for most No. 1s on the Hot 100 by a female, only trailing Mariah Carey (18).

Meanwhile, her album Unapologetic is set to debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 with 240-260k copies.

  5. Interesting you say that because my friend says I play some songs too quick...... but then she turns around and says that she never gets bored even if she plays the mix 100 times.

Of course when live you have to feel out the crowd a bit more.

Although over all I think old days of the extended club mix are gone. Where the 12" single was 6-7 minutes long, with two breakdowns in the song. Yes, even hip hop had extended club mixes. Where people wanted to dance 4-5 minutes of the song. That gave the DJ lots of time to sift through the record crate and cue up the next record with your EAR. Then do some coke (not that I did any) in the back of the DJ booth, lol.

Nowadays, the DJs are quicker mixers. Unless the song is new, I rarely play it in its entirety. These 18-21 years clubbing in 2012 ain't trying to hear the same song for 5 minutes.

i'm not saying play a song for 5 mins or more but please a min in a half u know that's 90 seconds  but hey keep up the good work man u doing something right
