I mean, it's also rated higher than the last 3 albums they were heavily involved in, due to Janet actually giving a hoot and writing about things beyond her worldview. Which, I imagine, which will be the case for the new music, regardless of who's producing it.

I agree, Unbreakable had some patchy moments with the production. I think that if Janet is inspired and writing, she can make great music with anyone. The only person we've REALLY seen her write with besides JJ/TL was Jermaine Dupri, whose beats are bargain bin tin. I'm excited to hear how she does with a better producer!

No Sleeep was the perfect lead and a very intentional choice. If she had tried to get a radio hit with DB or BIU as the lead, the era would've been DOA. At her age, the smart move is to get UAC/HAC radio on board for that adult exposure and potential album sales. No Sleeep did its job and sold the album.

Aquaria LITERALLY learned the If chroeo. She was sloppy, but she still destroyed it compared to everyone else attempting to do Janet onstage.

Discipline was and remains garbage with about 5 redeemable songs. The only forward-thinking songs on it are Feedback and RWU. The article saying it's "the album she needed to release," lmao, as if there was some artistic impetus for it when it was clearly just thrown out there to fulfill obligations and attempt a weak chart return. And RWU would never have been a pop hit because 1) it's 100% whispered, 2) it lacks a catchy hook, and 3) it has one verse repeated. It's a dance hit and that's that. Not every EDM song becomes a smash in Europe, for that you need a real chorus.

Control is clearly her best cover. Iconic, memorable, aesthetically pleasing. It captures an era. janet. is arguably more iconic, but less visually appealing. TVR is the most appealing artistically but not nearly as iconic. Discipline is the one I turn down the brightness on my phone for.

What do you expect that she would say, that she really wants kids or that kids don't interfere with a famous woman's life/career? That doesn't prove anything--she's either being honest or she's really good at creating justifications and covering it up, because she's good at covering up everything in her life. We all STILL had no idea she married Wissam in this age of leaked/exposed/publicized everything. Janet knows exactly what she's doing. Not saying she has kids because we all have no effing clue. It wouldn't shock me, but completely hiding her children from the world for however long seems extreme even for her standards; MJ didn't go that far (although she's smarter than him tbh, and it's easier for her to avoid the media because she's never been so insanely famous and utterly followed).
