Janet is included on Spin magazine's top 50 albums of the year
kaeh1213 replied to kaeh1213's topic in All About Janet
Unbreakable is also on The Guardian's top 50 list: http://www.theguardian.com/music/ng-interactive/2015/dec/02/best-albums-of-2015 -
I know... I don't think she cares too much about singles. But I'm just saying Night would be a good performance for promo for the album. It's also a song that doesn't seem to require much extra (dancers, special effects) production. I'd be happy with seeing her perform any song from the album televised somewhere! (I'm just being selfish, and want to see some sort of new performance to tide me over until she comes to Brooklyn in Feb)

I feel like we're just waiting on her to give us something else to "keep the conversation going..." I know I'm definitely ready for another video. Or even a talkshow performance of "Night" since she started doing the song in her show...

Janet Debuting TWO Songs in Hawaii!!!!!!
kaeh1213 replied to Rock & Roll Hall of Game's topic in All About Janet
sooooo... did she do two new songs? And where was that original photo from? I'm not seeing it on her Instagram (the font looks off, anyway) I would guess that if she does introduce two new songs into the setlist, it would be on the second leg. I'm really hoping for less medleys and longer songs for the second leg... but I have a feeling she's not going to change too much of the show. -
Thanks!

She did ask for people to post videos of them dancing to the song.... Maybe they're going to do something with that?

It's kind of buried in this new Billboard story, but there is a mention of Janet possibly recording/releasing holiday music: http://m.billboard.com/v/News/JanetJacksonsNo1 seems a little odd to me, since she didn't celebrate the holidays growing up... But holiday music is usually a best seller. Just ask Mariah. ;)

Haven't seen anything official about the song being an official single, but did come across this review: http://ppcorn.com/us/2015/10/27/janet-jackson-2-b-loved-single-review/ Maybe it's just a fan hoping that by putting this out there, the song will become a single? Thoughts?

Warning: Janet will cause your Instagram to be deleted

From her lips: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snmrap Hey you guys, I have been listening... I love and appreciate my fans. I want you to know that I enjoy watching short video clips of how you are Burning It Up at the Unbreakable shows. Please keep posting them.My team is passionate about protecting the intellectual property we are creating for the tour and possible future projects. It was never their intention, acting on my behalf, to have social media accounts removed. Permitting the use of long clips does present a contractual problem for these projects. I hope you understand. I trust the fans will use their short recordings for their own memories and to share on their social media networks of choice.I have asked my team to change their approach and allow you to engage socially with these videos.I know I wouldn't be here without the love I stand on. -
Aw, knowing Tina was there makes me really happy.

According to Twitter, Beyoncé, Oprah, queen Latifah and more are at the Unbreakable show in LA tonight. Love that Beyoncé is a true fan too....

I thought she said the n word in BURNITUP! too. I feel like they thought the same thing in that Sean Hayes lip dub video, too. Same song, I thought she sings "all it is is loving my boo" but it's "all it is is love on the move." ?

Janet Jackson Surprises Fans by Pretending to Be a Statue
kaeh1213 posted a topic in All About Janet
OMG... I hope she does this at the Brooklyn show in Feb: http://www.etonline.com/news/174039_exclusive_janet_jackson_surprises_fans_by_pretending_to_be_a_statue_watch_the_adorable_video/ -
I kind of feel like if there was a video for this song, it would've been released by now... Right? Anyone have any intel?

If follow mymusicvip on Twitter, you'll see they're posting "Janet" photo booth pics with fans... Maybe that's what they mean? :/

okay, so we know No Sleeep and BURNITUP! (Where's the video?!?!) are the first two singles. But I'm having fun guessing what the next ones will be. Assuming she'll release 4 or 5 singles/videos total (fingers crossed... I want at least that many videos!), what do you think they'll be? Here are my predictions: No Sleeep BURNITUP! 2 Be Loved (it sounds like Janet but also like something that would do well with a mainstream audience. It's not my first choice as a standout on the album, but feels accessible. Aaaaand it's been growing on me. Also, for some reason, gives me a random Because of Love feel, which was the third single from Janet.) Shoulda Known Better (she needs to release one of these socially conscious-moment songs, and this one seems like the best candidate for success. Would probably need a radio edit, but the video would be so powerful, and the fact that she already performs it on tour is a good sign.) Dammmn Baby (it seems to be the fan favorite. Kind of feels like a Pleasure Principle moment to me, for some reason. ( I really don't know why I'm drawing so many connections to past janet songs with these) We need a video for this one! And I feel like it's a good song to sum up the era: has a major groove but talks about her new movement to focus on love/respect for one another) ps: ugh. Just remembered I also feel like The Great Forever would be a strong single. This is hard!

Janet Hits #1 for the Seventh Time!
kaeh1213 replied to Rock & Roll Hall of Game's topic in All About Janet
When is Billboard gonna make it official and post it?!?! -
Love that people are really talking about and analyzing her music/career... And finally giving her the respect she deserves! But get the songs right! Missy is on BURNITUP! (Duh) not Dammn Baby!
