Scooped my tickets thanks to a friend. It was a mess though.
Hope you have a great time! I'm hoping she releases some US dates soon. I'm assuming I'll end up driving to Georgia. I doubt she's doing many dates here.

I'm thankful for my family, friends, a (hopefully upward moving) career, Janet's return, and hopefully a good end to 2015.

Anyone that doesn't anyone is curious as to what she's like as a performer should watch her Live at the Royal Albert Hall DVD. I was entertained from beginning to end. She does move about on stage but she also takes the time to explain each song, and with her personality, I was in hysterics throughout. She's just so fucking hilarious.
I would also say watch her perform Someone Like You at the Brits. Never have I seen an audience absolutely captivated by a voice to the point that there was complete silence throughout and then rapturous applause at the end.
I love that dvd. I thought of her performance like a bigger, better vh1 storytellers. As for her singing, it always sounds good to me, and it helps that she writes her own music. She knows how to interpret the emotion. But even she admits, she doesn't go full in all her live performances. She can't sing one key in "someone like you" like the studio version because it strains her voice. And she's been giving more "refined" performances since she had surgery and came back to do "Rolling in the deep" at the Grammys.

I stand corrected. ?. I really didn't think she'd do it. Congrats to Adele.

"No Sleeep"

I'm really excited to see the final 1st week album totals. She's a talented beast. I'm expecting 1 million+. But those expecting it to beat Britney and Nsync's numbers . . . Idk.
-
"No Sleeep" rebounded to #1 on adult r&b for its 10th week. "Unbreakable" has jumped to #10 on the same chart. Kinda wishing they'd send BIU or DB to mainstream pop, dance radio, and clubs soon.

Anyways, I am super excited about the video...Joseph Kahn has a great eye and I cannot see what he has in store for Janet. I hope there is some kind of play on the whole fire aspect of the song. Should be a cute video once its revealed in 2016.
at 2016. I hope before Black Friday. I love Joseph Kahn's videos, too. He's done great with Taylor this year. And I still adore the "Doesn't Really Matter" video and some of his older vids.

The ABC music lounge Twitter is promoting the song/album as seen on greys anatomy, too.
-
"Unbreakable" on the radio now.
-
Am I hearing "Lick Shots" or "Gossip Folks" on the end of this? It sounds like one of her older songs but I can't place it.
-
I love the video, and that puppet danced just like Pharrell. The song is cute. I think I was expecting her to change up, though.

Maybe we'll luck out, and they'll debut a video at the AMA. We know she won't be there, but JJ and TL can pop on stage since they're this era's spokes people. Some pre-black Friday buzz wouldn't hurt.

Always thought he was cute. And he's a very good actor. Can't wait to see this. Btw, was he in quasi drag in that clip?
-
Not today. It's on municipal where I live, and my city doesn't have anything to vote on. Next year will be loaded with president, congressional, and state related stuff.

Hot Bling is being played by Adult R&B Stations?
It was The Weekend "Earned It."

I STILL can't get over the fact that Terry of all people is doing interviews but not Janet. I almost thought he didn't speak.

So, are these unofficial, or did they actually send these to clubs? I miss hearing Janet on the dance floor.

That dj obscene mix with the rap had me feeling sexxxy at work today. . I didn't care who was out there watchin' as I did my burnitup bop.

There was definitely TONS more promo for the last 3 albums (4 including #1's) but what's clear through the music & tour itself she definitely cares. It's in the words, it's in the melody's. This is something Im dealing with too, it's very different for her, But how much promo did Tina Turner & Prince do for their last albums? She's playing a whole new ball game, her purpose clearly isn't to just sell music anymore. As I've said repeatedly, she knows EXACTLY what she could've done to get this albums numbers bigger (maybe even bigger than AFY & TVR opening week), Im too sure she's aware performing No Sleeep at BET could've made it huge, performing at the VMA's and AMa's could've made alot more things bigger, but she chose not to for reasons unclear to us, but we gotta know they're obviously clear for her. I don't know if you'll be wrong, I don't really care, I want more videos, I want more interviews and performances and photoshoots and looks, but this era is clearly about what SHE wants, and we just gotta accept what she gives us....or don't
I don't think I really started getting an idea of what (I think) she's doing until yesterday. It was the first time I had heard "No Sleeep" on the radio. It was in the afternoon sandwiched between Patti LaBelle :You are my friend" and Brian McKnight "Back at One." The only people that really had R&B chart dominance like Janet were R. Kelly and Aretha, but that was mainstream. They still play her biggest hits classic pop and R&B. No one can deny she has influenced popular music, video, and culture. But could you imagine 15 years ago Janet being lumped in with Patti and Brian on adult R&B? I think she's cementing her legacy as well-rounded singer AND entertainer. Even the handling of this tour makes me feel like she's moving more from being like Madonna/Britney with spectacle and/or dance to being more like Aerosmith/Tina Turner: classic acts you know sing live, have a dependable catalog, and may not move like they did at 30 but are still giving more energy on stage than people 1/2 their age. There is a plan in motion. I want more videos and performances myself, but I'm still interested in where she's taking it.

No Sleeep [non-single version]

Who is that?
I think it's Derrick Barry . . . Las Vegas Britney illusionist/drag queen. He was on America's Got Talent one season.
