  6. They calling Willow the new Michael Jackson and she has upstaged Beiber at his own concert. Hollywoodlife : Willow Smith performed for the first time on a major stage Oct. 25 at Justin Bieber’s concert in Los Angeles — and she was INCREDIBLE! The crowd went nuts! There’s no denying Justin Bieber is a rockstar! The 16-year-old mega performer sang, danced, played the piano, drums and guitar — and even rapped during his My World 2.0 concert at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles Oct. 25. I was one of the nearly 20,000 screaming fans in the packed stadium dancing and singing along to the Biebz, but the highlight of my night was by FAR was the guest list — Usher, Jaden and Willow Smith all made surprise appearances! I feel honored to have witnessed 9-year-old Willow’s first big live performance. She’s already blowing up the charts and will, without a doubt, be one of the biggest musical artists in the world within a year. Although I could only make out a little blur from my seat in Proactiv’s suite, Willow’s presence was unmistakable. During the encore, she started rapping a verse from her single, “Whip My Hair” and the crowd erupted into wild applause. Then, when she started doing “the dougie” with Justin, I almost spilled my drink. That little girl is straight up genius! Her older brother, Jaden, made an appearance earlier in the show and he’s also genetically gifted. Justin introduced his backup dancers, who were all breaking, and then Jaden came out and started doing tricks as well! Will and Jada Smith have groomed these kids perfectly for show biz. SIDE NOTE: Usher, who’s Justin’s mentor, also performed briefly during one song, but he went almost unnoticed — the little kids totally upstaged him! Overall, I give Justin’s concert two-thumbs up…although, Jaden and Willow definitely earned at least one half of the thumbs! Sure, I’m a Biebette, but now I’m also a whipette!

  13. Can Tyler Perry Give Janet Jackson a Ride to the Oscars? By Anonymous Created 11/03/2010 - 10:33 Can Tyler Perry Give Janet Jackson a Ride to the Oscars? By Steve Pond Published: November 03, 2010 @ 10:33 am Janet Jackson wants to make it back to the Oscars, and she’s hoping Tyler Perry can help her get there. Crazier things have happened, right? The likeliest vehicle to get Jackson a seat at the Kodak Theater isn’t Perry’s “For Colored Girls,” in which Jackson is part of an ensemble cast of African-American actresses, though. Rather, it’s a less-heralded Perry movie, “Why Did I Get Married Too?” for which Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have written a song called “Nothing.” “I’m not going to lie, it would be a dream,” Jackson told theWrap about the possibility of a nomination. “But I can’t let myself go there and focus on things like that. If you do that, you’re just building yourself up for a major letdown.” If the Academy’s famously unpredictable music branch recognizes the sparse ballad with a nomination, it’ll be second Oscar nomination for Jackson, who also got a nod for the song “Again,” from “Poetic Justice,” in 1994. Here’s the official video for “Nothing”: When it comes to the song’s Oscar chances, the movie itself is hardly Oscar-bait – but 14 of the Best Song nominations over the past decade have come from films with no other nominations. The last time Jackson was nominated, voters in the category were famously drawn to celebrity. When she was in the running for “Again,” from “Poetic Justice,” her fellow nominees included Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Dolly Parton. Now the process is trickier – voters score all the eligible songs after watching clips of the scenes in which they appear – and the results less predictable. But it can’t hurt that Jackson and Dupri wrote the song drawing specifically on lines and characters from the film, in which Jackson also appears. “We basically took things from the characters and put them into the song,” she said. “The movie is about four couples, and we gave half a verse to each couple and even used some of the things they talk about in the movie. “Basically,” she added, “it’s about cherishing every moment like it’s the last moment.” The song was her second attempt at writing a theme: she said that the first version, which she and Dupri recorded and mixed before deciding that they could do better, wasn’t as sparse and had a different melody. “This one felt right for the film as soon as we recorded it,” she said. “We wanted something that was sparse and slow, but something that kept a steady rhythm, a steady beat.” In Jackson’s other new collaboration with Perry, “For Colored Girls,” she working entirely as an actress. Too young to have seen the groundbreaking play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf,” she took in the work for the first time when she was in Atlanta with Perry after working on “Why Did We Get Married Too?” “I really liked it,” she said, “and afterwards he told me that he’d been asked to direct it, and he’d like me to play one of the characters. I said, ‘Oh, is that why you brought me here tonight?’ “And he said, ‘Why else do you think I’d bring you? You didn’t think this was a date, did you?’” If Jackson was drawn to the idea of interacting with a large cast that also includes Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Kimberly Elise and Loretta Devine, that’s not exactly how “For Colored Girls” worked out for her. She plays a rich, driven magazine editor – think of a younger urban version of Meryl Streep’s character in “The Devil Wears Prada,” just as imperious – and figured that meant she should keep her distance from the other cast members, all of whose characters live in the neighborhood her character worked so hard to escape. “She’s a tough cookie, and very nasty,” said Jackson. “And I figured that I should try to stay in character, so I kept my distance from the rest of the cast. “I could hear the other girls talking and having a good time between takes, and I so badly wanted to be a part of that. But it was better for my character that I wasn’t.”
  14. http://www.billboard.com/#/news/ke-ha-to-crash-hot-100-at-no-1-with-we-r-1004125178.story And you slutacious bitches thought she was a one hit wonder. Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" is set to become just the 17th song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 when the chart is officially released tomorrow (Nov. 4). The track is the preview single from Ke$ha's forthcoming "Cannibal" album, set to be released on its own on Nov. 22 in addition to being packaged with her debut album, "Animal," in a deluxe edition titled "Animal Cannibal." "We R Who We R" shifts 280,000 downloads in its initial week at retail, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to easily rank at No. 1 on Digital Songs, knocking Far*East Movement's "Like a G6" (178,000, down 13%) to No. 2 on both that chart and the Hot 100. "Like a G6" topped the latter list for the past two weeks and had led Digital Songs for three non-consecutive frames. Ke$ha's track is also making an swift impact at radio, debuting at No. 49 on Radio Songs (up 81%) and jumping 36-23 on Pop Songs (up 124%). "We R Who We R" is the second title this year to start its chart life at No. 1, following Eminem's "Not Afraid" in May. Prior to Eminem's debut, Britney Spears had been the last artist to enter at No. 1, with "3" in October 2009. Ke$ha is no stranger to the top of the Hot 100. Earlier this year she became the 11th solo female to collect at least four Billboard Hot 100 top 10s from a debut album. First single "TiK ToK" topped the chart for nine weeks starting with the Hot 100 dated Jan. 2, 2010, followed by "Blah Blah Blah" (No. 7), "Your Love Is My Drug" (No. 4) and "Take It Off" (No. 8). In addition to those titles, Ke$ha had a top 10 appearance on 3OH!3's "My First Kiss" (No. 9) in May.
