  1. Rihanna to perform on American Idol Finale Rihanna will perform her latest smash hit “Where Have You Been” on the American Idol Grand Finale Wednesday, May 23 (8:00-10:07 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX, when the newest winner is crowned. American Idol will host the series’ two-night grand finale from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE Tuesday, May 22 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) and Wednesday, May 23 (8:00-10:07 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. After weeks of performing on the American Idol stage, the two remaining finalists will perform live Tuesday in front of a theater audience of more than 7000 as well as millions of viewers watching at home. Then, on Wednesday night, at the end of a two-hour music celebration, host Ryan Seacrest will announce the next American Idol. With only three performance shows left in the season, tune in next week, Wednesday, May 9 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the Top Four – Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez – return to the IDOL stage to sing for America’s votes on a “California Dreamin’”-themed performance show. Don’t miss the live results show the following night, Thursday, May 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the Top Three finalists are announced and get set for their hometown visits to see family, friends and fans. In addition, global superstar and American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez, will perform her hit new song, “Dance Again.” Season Seven American Idol winner David Cook also returns to the IDOL stage to perform “The Last Song I’ll Write For You.” “Where Have You Been,” from Rihanna’s Island Def Jam album “Talk That Talk,” released last November, is the artist’s latest single. Rihanna made Billboard history last year, when “We Found Love,” another single off of “Talk That Talk,” became her 11th No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 and her 20th Top 10 hit. She collected her 20 Hot 100 Top 10 singles faster than any other solo artist – six years and four months –and places second only to the Beatles. Additionally, “We Found Love” gives Rihanna her 16th No. 1 Billboard Dance single. American Idol is produced by 19 Entertainment, a division of CKX, Inc. and FremantleMedia North America. The series is created and executive-produced by Simon Fuller, CEO, XIX Entertainment, and executive-produced by Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia North America; Ken Warwick, Executive Producer, FremantleMedia North America; and Nigel Lythgoe, CEO, Nigel Lythgoe Productions. See what happens every Thursday when the show ends, but the cameras keep rolling, as the eliminated finalist says an emotional goodbye and exits the IDOL stage. 3. Rihanna’s “Battleship” Makes $170M BEFORE U.S. Release! Monday, April 30, 2012 From Forbes.com: “Battleship” is now up to $170 Mil worldwide without US release until May 18th. “Battleship,” Universal Pictures’ big summer entertainment, cost over $200 million to make. You know it’s cheesy and not very good, so why subject the studio to American reviews? Very wisely, Universal has been opening “Battleship” around the world in advance of its May 18th U.S. landing. And the result: already $129 million in the bank. And more to come. These numbers are from Boxofficemojo.com.

  10. Actress Janet Hubert is directing her venom at someone OTHER than Will Smith now.....picking Wendy Williams as a target. She lashed out recently at Wendy and called her a bully due to the things she said about Whitney Houston over the course of their careers. Read the letter inside..... Janet Hubert thinks Wendy Williams is a big ole bully and should stop spreading rumors about celebrities. She thinks Wendy was especially cruel to Whitney Houston throughout the course of her life. Here's an excerpt from the letter written after Wendy broke down during her show about the death of Whitney: Dear Wendy, This past weekend was a very difficult time for so many of us. I watched the funeral service with the rest of the world, and cried time and time again with each story that was told. I felt like I knew more about this amazing woman than ever before. We all watched her as a little girl, center stage, singing like a bird, she was destined for superstardom. To watch her center stage full circle in death was a feeling no mother should ever have to feel. I applaud Ms. Warwick, the pastor, and all others who formed a police line of love and protection around her that was impenetrable only to those who really knew her. We, the public accepted their decision to keep it private, but they allowed us to witness her Home Going ceremony, I don’t know if I could have been so gracious. WE felt like we knew her and we knew nothing about her except what we read and hear from people like you and other media outlets. I listened to her interview with you and was compelled to say out loud. “Go on Whitney tell her like it is,” when you pried into her life back then. I had my son in the same year as Ms. Houston; we did Ebony Magazine that same year, she introducing her baby girl and me my son. I am trying to be dignified, but here goes. The Internet has become somewhat like the 10 commandments, and this is why… whatever is posted or commented on… is forever written in stone. Neither I nor anybody can stop anyone from making up stories, reviews, lies etc, cutting and pasting whatever they decide to put together like a bad buffet breakfast. I have had some horrible meals shoved down my throat on the web that I had no parts of. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from a recent cut and paste meal from your beloved TMZ (THE MUDSLINGING ZONE). I believe you said once “If you heard it on TMZ then it must be true,” really Wendy? The Internet is indeed the information highway, but it can also be “a Forum of Hate.” Though I never knew Whitney Houston, I felt a profound sense of loss and sadness. On Sunday morning I took my dog for a walk in the park across the street and still could not shake the sadness I felt. I wondered if what I was feeling was perhaps related to losing my mother and brother this past year, but then I thought no, it was something else. You (Wendy Williams) said that morning with tears in your eyes, that you would not discuss Whitney any further, but you crucified her the whole time she was alive, as you do so many people on your show. I want to ask you why? What do you get out of this besides money? How do you sleep at night knowing that you are one of the biggest bullies in the world disguised as HOT TOPICS? Celebrities are not topics we are people, just like everyone else, we hurt and we hear and we bleed real blood, not fake blood, just as you do. How do we as parents teach our children to honor each other, treat each other with kindness when all they see are images of people like you who condone and promote meanness, rude reality TV stars, and your opinion as you berate world renowned people like Janet Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others you slam on a daily basis. I keep asking myself why no one is saying anything about this. What the hell are they afraid of? Where are my sisters out there who feel as I do? Well Wendy, I try to teach my son to stand up, shout, and scream when there is injustice. Yeah yeah, I know, I have been screaming for years and will continue to do so as long as there are images that depict black women as neck shaking, over bearing women who can’t get along. A sister, a mother, a daughter, a star, left this world way too early; she was loved by the world. The world mourned, I don’t think that we needed you to try and take down another brilliant sister on that following Monday morning. (Your rude comments about Janet Jackson) You started right back up without hesitation or pause… you need to stop Wendy. We need to stop, and the world needs to stop. I need to stop as well. There will be no more quotes from me to be misquoted. We need to join together, wrap our arms around our children, everybody’s children. Remember you have a child who will suffer every slingshot and arrow that gets thrown back at you Wendy; our public lives greatly affect our children. I know I am going to suffer some arrows for writing this letter to you, I know you are loved by many, but remember this Wendy; they love you when you are up and they love to take you down. You will not always be up, you will not always be on the A list and attend all the parties. Ride the wave sister girl, but make sure you know how to swim when the ride is over. Artists are survivors, we work hard to build our crafts and careers and I ask that you simply remember that in the future. I’m just sayin’ it like l mean it too. Janet Hubert Thoughts?
  11. Next week's Billboard Digital Songs and Hot 100 charts will be brimming with massive debuts, surging sales and some intriguing newcomers. A host of songs -- new and old -- will be vying for a position within both charts' top 10s. Katy Perry's new "Part of Me," which was released digitally to retailers on Monday, Feb. 13, is heading for a debut sales week of around 400,000 to 420,000 downloads by week's end on Sunday, Feb. 19 -- so say industry prognosticators. That would mark the pop diva's best debut sales frame and the highest opening week for any act since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" sold 448,000 on the chart dated Feb. 26, 2011, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Perry premiered "Part of Me" in a performance on the Feb. 12 Grammy Awards ceremony -- much like how Gaga launched "Born This Way" a year ago on the Feb. 13 Grammys (two days after the single hit digital retailers). So effectively, Perry's "Part of Me" will sell around the same amount in seven days as Gaga did in three. Adele, who was the queen of this year's Grammy Awards -- taking home six trophies -- should also find herself with multiple singles near the top of the Digital Songs tally. "Rolling in the Deep," which she performed on the show and earned both record and song of the year awards, could sell over 250,000 downloads. Meanwhile, her most recent single, "Set Fire to the Rain," may move around 220,000 while "Someone Like You" could sell 170,000. The late Whitney Houston will likely be among next week's top 10 selling songs for a second week, as "I Will Always Love You" could sell in the range of 250,000 to 300,000. fun.'s "We Are Young" (featuring Janelle Monae) is still reeling from its positioning in Chevy's Sonic TV commercial, and is aiming for a 250,000 sales week. Nicki Minaj's new "Starships" is on course to sell perhaps 150,000, while Chris Brown's also just-released "Turn Up the Music" is heading for a start near 150,000 to 170,000 as well. Another new single, from British vocal group One Direction, "What Makes You Beautiful," may debut with 120,000 or so. The top 10 of the Digital Songs chart will be revealed on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
  12. Jennifer Hudson Tapped To Tribute Whitney Houston At Grammy’s As the world mourns the loss of the iconic Whitney Houston, Grammy producers have been making frantic changes to tonight’s show, so as to honor the late, great, superstar. Hence, in a move we can only commend, vocalist Jennifer Hudson has been drafted in to tribute the singer. Speaking to the media this morning, Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich said: “Our plan at this point, I’ve asked Jennifer Hudson to come. We’re really, at this point, talking about what she’s going to do, but it will be something respectful. t’s not going to be a full-blown tribute, to me that feels like it’s too early, it’s too fresh at this moment, so we’re working on something that will be really respectful and appropriate to Whitney’s memory.” There is also strong suggestion that Chaka Khan will be involved. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air tonight on CBS. Pending then, watch Jennifer soar in her tribute performance to Whitney at the 2010 BET Honors. Colossally sad to think almost two years to that day, she’d be paying her respects under such tragic circumstances: SHE HAS THE NUMBER 1, 5 AND 6 ALBUMS ON ITUNES AND HER SONG I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU IS AT # 2, WITH AN ADDITIONAL 32 OTHER SINGLES IN ITUNES TOP 200.
  13. Set to hit stores on March 13th, the retooled set -dubbed ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’- will include new tracks. And while the name of the cuts are presently unconfirmed, ‘Dressing Up’ and ‘Part Of Me’ – two new Perry tracks which recently “surfaced” – have been wiped off Youtube in their entirety.
  14. On February 14th, Nicki Minaj‘s sophomore album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ was set to hit stores worldwide. Now, in an unexpected turn of events, the Rapper has pushed the LP’s release date back, announcing the news online minutes ago. She explained on Twitter: New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of surprises before then . Love Always, HB. Sure to rub some sects of her fan base the wrong way, this news comes hours after her latest video ‘Stupid Hoe‘ emerged Let’s hope that this new date will see Team Minaj tighten up their promo campaign to ensure the LP generates the attention it needs to best the sales of ‘Pink Friday’ and any other album due out on the same week.
  15. “Talk That Talk”: 2 million copies sold worldwide Less than 2 months after its release, Rihanna’s sixth album “Talk That Talk” has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. In other news, Rihanna’s hit single “We Found Love” is #1 worldwide for 11 weeks! Congratulations, RiRi!/
  16. When you are two of the most respected vocal divas of your generation, it is difficult to evade comparison. Such has been the case with most artists who, despite varying levels of similarities, find themselves in the same age or genre bracket with stars like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna. Such comparison has garnered its fair of protest from pop’s other elite vocalists and you can now add ‘Long Distance’ diva Brandy to that long list. History may have seen Miss Norwood make waves almost a decade before many of her comparatives, but she still finds her name listed versus some of the noughties reigning diva set. Speaking with our friends over at TrueExclusives.com, B-Rocka runs down the notion of ‘stan wars’ and rivalries between herself and Monica, among others mentioned.
  17. Rihanna has revealed that she will be performing at The Grammy Awards 2012 with UK rockers Coldplay. The Bajan babe took to Twitter to make the announcement, stating that she will join Chris Martin and Co for a special performance of their Mylo Xyloto collaboration, Princess of China, at the ceremony next month. RiRi tweeted: “My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!” The You Da One singer later added: “WE reached 2BILLION views on @youtube !!! THANK U!!! I’m in a great mood, and I got some GREAT NEWS!!! PRINCESS OF CHINA #GRAMMYS2012.” As well as their planned performance at the Grammys, the 23-year old and Coldplay are also allegedly taking to the stage together at The Brit Awards on 21st February at London’s O2 Arena. Adele – who is confirmed to play The Brits – is also rumoured to perform at The Grammys, making her return to the stage since having surgery on her throat. The 54th Grammy Awards hit the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on 12th February, and will be hosted by rapper LL Cool J.
  18. She said in this interview she's taking it back to the first album, but make it current..
  19. Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ Scores A Perfect 10 Atop Hot 100 Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, remains atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a milestone 10th total week at the summit. The song, which already represents Rihanna’s longest stay at No. 1 on the Hot 100, becomes one of just 11 boasting a solo female lead billing to have ruled for at least 10 weeks in the tally’s 53-year history. “We Found Love” is the first such leader since Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” logged 10 weeks on top in 2006-07. Here is the complete list of songs by women to achieve strangleholds of at least 10 frames on the Hot 100 (including two tracks in which other acts share lead credit and one in which two women trade lead vocals): Weeks at No. 1, Title, Artist, Peak Year 16, “One Sweet Day,” Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995 (*the longest reign of any title in the chart’s history) 14, “We Belong Together,” Mariah Carey, 2005 14, “I Will Always Love You,” Whitney Houston, 1992 13, “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy & Monica, 1998 11, “I’ll Be Missing You,” Puff Daddy & Faith Evans featuring 112, 1997 11, “Un-Break My Heart,” Toni Braxton, 1996 10, “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, 2011 (to-date) 10, “Irreplaceable,” Beyonce, 2006 10, “Foolish,” Ashanti, 2002 10, “Physical,” Olivia Newton-John, 1981 10, “You Light Up My Life,” Debby Boone, 1977 “We FoundLove” maintains its Hot 100 dominance by spending a ninth week atop Radio Songs (150 million audience impressions, down 1%, according to Nielsen BDS), while slipping 4-6 on Digital Songs (140,000 downloads sold, down 24%, according to Nielsen SoundScan).
