For all those who may be interested, I was scrolling through my Direct TV menu and seen that MTV will be airing the very first season in its entirety! As well as the Las Vegas and San Francisco seasons!! They will be shown throughout the weekend. I haven't seen any of these since they originally aired!! I won't be home for all of it but I do have my DVR set for all 3 seasons. I hope this is a new trend with MTV, if it is, I hope they re air Los Angeles, Miami, Hawaii, and Back to New York.

Miami is my all time favorite season.

Anyhoo, just thought I'd share... :)

R u gonna watch this season? It seems like the first decent one in a while.

I didn't realize a new season was coming up....I may, when does it start?

I've been more into the challenges, rather the actual Real World series... The past probably 5 or so seasons of The Real World have all been a big blur. The last one I enjoyed I think was Denver...and the one after that which was Australia, I think. Oh, yea I did enjoy the 2nd Las Vegas as well. Not sure what season number that was.

Miami is my all time favorite season.

I look back it now and I realized that Miami was the start of the ratchedness! :yep:

It was a very good season but it was built on drama. The fights, the business that could never get off the ground and the threesome. It was a foreshadowing of what the show would become. Las Vegas was the shows popularity peak. It was a hot ass mess, but you still cared about the housemates. Now I can't name anyone from the last 7 seasons. This used to be must see TV when I was in college.

Las Vegas was when the show started going downhill, the cast just portrayed young adults too cynically. But it got became a mess when they started repeating cities and doing resort cities. Now that they finally found a new city, I'm actually looking forward to watching.

The story of The Real World is quite sad actually.

I am a huge fan of the first decade. Nothing can touch the magic that was New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Honolulu, and New Orleans. Back To New York, Paris, and San Diego were London was OK, but miles better compared to the last 10 years because it was still authentic, believable, and didn't rely so heavily on alcohol and sex.

I miss castmates like Eric and Heather (New York), Tami and David (Los Angeles), Pedro (San Francisco), MY GIRLS Cynthia and Flora (Miami), and pretty much the entire cast of Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, and Back To New York (it gave us Coral, my boo).

Notice how all of the cast members of the first decade were college students or graduates with ambitions and goals. Once Chicago and Las Vegas came, it changed too drastically. The only seasons I enjoyed after that were Hollywood, Sydney, Key West, and Philadelphia. Austin and Denver were boring. I have not watched the Virgin Islands and the 6 seasons before that were all pretty boring and repetitive.

I tried to hang on..but it seems after Vegas (Alton and them) Ive parted ways...something is just not the same. I think since its so common having reality shows with drama now its easily being overshadowed. You dont hear anyone talk about the real world no more. No, the one with Dustin..who did gay porn is actually the last season i watched in full. Im really tryna hang in there wit the CHALLENGE shows they still be having. This last one was the first time I didnt make it thru the whole season...it was drawn out..wayyyyy too much. I use to really enjoy mtv"s reality shows they just seem so dull now

Los Angeles was my fave too, and it didn't hurt that there was Janet music played in it too (well TTWLG & Again if I remember correctly).

Janet's music was used a few times during the early years of the real world. But that would make sense since the show was created at the peak of her success in the early 90s.

I heard "Someone To Call My Lover" on Back To New York. And Kaia went to see The Velvet Rope Tour live at the Aloha Stadium in the Hawaii season with a date, it didn't show any of Janet's show, but had Kaia and the date walk into and out of the stadium. She was praising Jansus!!
