Nicki strategically waited until just days before her album is released to finally speak up on the Lil Kim situation. No surprise there. Nicki is falling the same path Drake took. Drake had hella hype when his album came out, and he just recently finally scanned platinum. The problem is, when the hype dies, people lose interest in the artist. Sadly that is probably gonna happen to Nicki. Her hype is fallowed up with a disappointing album, based on critic opinions. I listened to the snippets and well.... .... . It wasn't bad, on a scale of one to ten, it was like a 5 or 6. The songs sounded the same. Her features and her shows are ten times our pay, but her features are better than her own material. And her shows are should be free admission. And unfortunately Nicki has already over saturated her market. She's been a feature on just about every pop artists' records. It's going to be a surprise when her album is released to 200k first week sales, and then plummets down the charts faster than Lil Kim running around talking about pay homage. She doesn't have any hits on the charts to sustain her album on the charts. As for Lil Kim.... . No one is here for your "old shit" right now. Although it does murder Nicki, right now we are focused on the present and the future. Either put out or sit back and maintain your rap legend status and shut up. And please let's not start this "ghost writer" shit because EVERY rapper has had a ghost writer at some point in their career, esp during rap beefs. The problem is, Kim feels the need to reassert her dominance as the leading female of rap. It's like she feels the need for the lessors to praise her. It would be like Janet and Madonna coming after Gaga, Usher, Britney, Beyonce, Legendtina, Ciara, Brandy, Ashanti, Aaliyah, Monica, Katy Perry, Chris Clown, Kesha, etc () demanding them to pay homage, rather than letting their influence speak for themselves. I think Kim can still come with something because if she's lasted this long, she has to have some kind of skill. IDK, I'm ready for it to be over.
