Stunt enthusiast Ryan Dunn, the bearded bad boy who appeared in all three of the Jackass movies, died in a car crash in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania early Monday.

The 34-year-old daredevil, famous for shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first Jackass movie, was the driver of a 2007 Porsche 911 GTS that burst into flames after crashing at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen at approximately 2:30 AM Monday morning. Police say “preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.” Could alcohol have been a fact? It’s possible, just hours before his death, Dunn posted a photo on his Twitter account showing himself drinking with friends. The authorities are withholding the identity of Dunn’s passenger pending identification and notificiation of next of kin.

Roger Ebert Stirs Fury With Ryan Dunn Drunk Driving Tweet

Jackass star Ryan Dunn, who along with his castmates made Americans cringe and snicker through stunts in their TV and movie franchise, died in a fiery car crash in a Pennsylvania township early Monday. But sadness has given way to fury as Dunn’s fans and Jackass co-stars react to a Tweet legendary film critic posted shortly after the accident and allegations that Dunn was intoxicated and speeding when the Porsche he was drunk careened off the road, killing him and a friend.

Daredevil Dunn, 34, was killed in a horrific “high speed” car accident early Monday. According to police, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 3 AM on Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. Authorities believe Ryan’s $100,000 2007 Porsche 911 GT3,capable of reaching speeds of up to 190mph, slid off the road, hit a tree, and immediately burst into flames. Tire marks at the scene of the crash show where the Porsche careered off the highway, through a metal guard rail and into the woods. The stuntman’s body was so badly burnt that he was only identified by his tattoos. Pictures from the scene show the charred remains as a tow truck dragged the wreckage from the woods.

Eyewitnesses tell TMZ.com that Dunn downed at least three light beers and three shots between 10.30 PM and 2.10 AM at Barnaby’s of America Bar in the hours before the accident. Shortly before his death, Ryan Tweeted a photograph of himself enjoying a night out with pal Zac Hartwell, who also died in the accident, and another friend. Police reportedly had trouble identifying Hartwell’s body due to the horrific nature of his injuries. The photo has since been removed, but the info was all Ebert needed to light into the late Dunn on Twitter.

Ebert, 69, who won a Pulitzer Prize for Criticism, Tweeted: “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.” A link to a news story about the accident accompanied his comment.

One Tweeter responded: “That was in disgustingly poor taste…” While another wrote: “Why is this a joke? He is still a person. Have some respect.”

Bam Margera finally went to his Twitter to blast Ebert late last night, writing: “I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of shit roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents about a jackass drunk driving and [he is] one, fuck you!”

He added: “Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat fucking mouth!”

But Ebert stuck to his guns: “Perez Hilton’s readers agree with me and not with Perez about my tweet on Ryan Dunn…He drank, he drove, 2 people died,” the movie pundit wrote.

Dunn was, in fact, charged with a DUI in suburban Pennsylvania six years ago it has emerged. An autopsy is under way by the Chester County Coroner’s Office to ascertain whether alcohol played a part in the accident, but the toxicology results aren’t expected for another couple of weeks.
