Mr. Wonder
Just asking, but why do you think Anita isn't a legend? What ingredients do you think she doesn't have? People have really gotten into the mindset that if you've been around for a long time, you automatically transition into legend status after some time. There's a difference between a legend and a veteran. Anita is the definition of a successful singer who has been around for a while. She never really innovated anything into the pop landscape, hell neither has Sade imo. This is also why ppl debate on whether Mariah is a legend or not. Austin is being paged.

Thank you for saying something, just so I can see where people come from with their opinions. However, music doesn't begin and end with pop/top 40. Neither Anita or Sade were anybody's pop. But that didn't stop them from reinventing soulful R&B by incorporating jazz and attaining sales and mainstream success. They managed to have control of their works of art and careers, while a bunch of unsung singers are whining about "I couldn't do this, they didn't let me do this." KlaSh-E
Hold up..you really feel like that about Sade.. i don't think any are seen as legends....not here anyway... Sade is the bigger star obviously, not many even remember Anita Baker Sade is seen as a good solid artist that had a great come back after being almost forgotten for so many years... but legend?
