She's testing the waters lol. She's doing an EP to see how she'll perform in the streaming era. If it performs well, she'll probably do a whole album down the road. If it doesn't, it can't be held to the same standard as an album because it's only an EP so the expectations aren't the same. Her image isn't tarnished by a poor performing EP, or she can be praised for a successful EP. It's literally a win-win situation for her.

It means they'll get tour dates sometime in the future. It'll probably be the "Christmas gift" to them. Tour will start there in March.
