ok so assuming the theory that it was a stunt, you post a photo to prove it but please explain to me the look on Janet's face. That look is not one of "haha it worked", it's a look of "shit, what just happened". And then there was the photos of her being taken away in a towel and the rumours from dancers she was seen crying back stage. Explain please?
I suppose she put saline in her eyes to fake cry and the shocked looks was acting even though the lights were already off?? Lol
she is an actress!! Lol and those "rumors" about her crying.....merely rumors.. The point was to get people to talk, but not in a bashing way... It backfired, plain and simple.. Even Justin admitted the idea wasn't thought out carefully and it was dumb...

No need to "try again", because you didn't get the point, doesn't make it less valid, I said the inside could be black (which it is) and the outside can be all completely red, with no visible hint of black, seen it done with all kinds of colors, So no, I never said "red & black" I said red with black under, it's a costume thing, which is why for me where that's kind of my world right now even, nothing about it being a accident sounds or looks far fetched, and there's been no smoking gun (including the pic posted) that's radically changed my opinion.

At least explain what the point of showcasing her bra would've been (if that was really what was meant to happen) to 100mil viewers...

The fact that she was wearing that ridiculous nipple ring (or whatever the hell it was) tells me that their little stunt was intentional. Obviously they never anticipated just how much backlash they would receive for it, but oh well...
Anyway, I pretty much agree with everything in the original post but this really could have just gone into the venting thread.

Btw I don't give a fuck about what she did at the Super Bowl.. Sure it was a dumb ideas by whoever came up with it.. But remember this occurred about 5-6 months after the Britney/Madonna/Christina kiss at the VMAs (when they shoved the camera in Justin's face to get his reaction the moment it happened)... Clearly this was a pre-orchestrated stint to try and top Madonna and it failed miserably.. Whoever came up with that stunt should've been fired.. And Janet did not help herself one bit in the months to follow by avoiding the topic as much as possible.. And even when she did talk about it, she was even more vague than she's been just in the last 3 months.. She could've saved her career, but she chose not to.. And she's been dealing with the aftermath ever since unfortunately..
my point is, you can be a Stan of a fan and still understand that Janet made mistakes in her career and lied about them ("I lived through my mistakes, it's just a part of growing")...

You do know the inside of the bra could've been black, like it obviously wasn't just a random bra you get at Sears (like all costume clothing isn't) but I've seen many bras that were hand created (friends with like 2 designers) and they have designs on the outside but are jet black or sometimes white on the inside, moe so that if you're just wearing that it's not see through.

The official statement was that there was meant to be a red bra left.. Not a black bra.. And even if it was meant to be a bra left there (in any color) wtf was the point of doing that..?! Don't u think that stunt alone would've been enough to tarnish her career..whether there was a bra left in place or not..? (At least it would be enough for her to receive some sort of backlash) Plus wouldn't have her nipple shield most likely shone through..?!

I also have to remind myself that Norm is still in his 20's and I'm already well into my 30's.. I remember a lot of "Janet" all the way back to when the RN video was first released and I asked my mom who she was, and when she told me she was Mike's sister I was immediately a fan..

I don't get why fans feel the need to question Janet's personal life as if what they say matters. I don't understand this sudden rise out of questioning her. I don't understand why people think her US dates were suffering (they weren't). I don't understand why she isn't congratulated for her achievements in this past year (look in those threads about her achievements.... I don't understand why so many of her so called "fans" thrive on the negativity but ignore the positive (the fact that her first US leg & album were very successful). I don't understand why American fans are upset that Janet canned her European dates (still very very confusing). I don't understand why certain fans think Janet should have promoted her album when she dedicated it to her fans. I don't understand why fans aren't getting what the "new movement" is. I don't understand why fans are lingering if they're that upset over Janet deciding at her fragile age to start a family (let alone question her motives)
Some fans feel fortunate that they have this here messageboard as a platform to air some of their grievances they maybe feel are worth speaking to other fans about.. It's not that crazy of an idea..
Just as I have a right to speak my mind (so long as it falls in the rules of this forum), you also have the right to not click on any forum you deem below your own opinion, let alone type an essay as a reply..

so is she, or isn't she an admitted liar about her marriage to Rene? What does it being Rene's idea (if true) have anything to do with the fact that she lied about that...? And remember, I'm not saying she was wrong for doing so in that scenario..
also, you feel that since Janet said it was an "accident" that she told the truth about the SB?? Justin did not accidentally rip her breastplate/cup off.. Calling it an "accident" is not the truth, be real bruh..
As for the "etc"... I do recall her saying that she was suffering from "vertigo" in 2008.. Lots of shows postponed and later cancelled.. You believe she had vertigo back then..?
and I totally forgot about what she said to fans in 2014, but still that's understandable.. She truly may not have even been working on the album at the time..

You guys, I don't think it's that radical to question this whole "planning a family" situation.. I love Janet and have done so since I first saw the RN video when I was 6 years old.. But Janet is an admitted liar.. Not that she lies to be malicious, but she has lied about several things in the past (marriage to Rene, Super Bowl, etc)..
For someone as private as she is, she may very well believe that since nobody knows hardly anything about her current private life, that she could just claim to be "planning a family" (and really what does that even mean...?) and get out of doing the tour for at least another year, and instead of getting ridiculed, she'll get praise and congratulations!! Way to take a move right out of Mike's old playbook (and I looove Mike, folks!!)..
I just don't buy the family excuse she's given..
Put it this way.. If 2 years from now she still hasn't returned to touring/performing, and there has never been any type of confirmation that she's a parent (pics, statements, tweets from her family, etc), will anyone still be as big of a fan as they are now..?
And that's an honest question..
Of course she's entitled to live her life the way she sees fit, there's no denying that.. But at the very least, if in the near future there's no other sign from her about having the family she claimed she and her husband were planning, would that at least leave a bad taste in your mouth regarding the support you have shown her during this time..?
And I'll happily eat crow if in a few months time we spot some TMZ pics or videos showing a full-on pregnant Janet with baby bump and errthang... But for now the question remains..-

I'd agree with that.. There are def looney MJ fans out there, just as there are nutjob Janet fans too.. I think that Mike's crazy fans are more vocal than Janet's though, simply because the size of his fan base dwarfs the size of hers by a light year..

"Control" was a landmark album. From the production, to Janet's delivery, the videos, the imagery. It did shape what music would sound like upon it's release(contemporary rnb as we know it)..No female was doing what she was doing around that time..which gave her massive exposure.."Control" imo, is so underrated..although critics love it, I think in the fan community, people prefer RN or TVR..which is fine..but if it wasn't for "Control", I don't think we would have gotten those albums..
I agree that RN, Janet. and TVR(to some extent) should have been nominated as well. Such a travesty they weren't.

I mean, the title of the album says it all.
"Nasty" and WHYDFML are feminist anthems. Accidentally, imo. But nonetheless impactful. Women and some men found their voice once those gems were sent to them from heaven.DEAD @ Control not having meaningful substance. It pretty much shaped the music industry after it was released.
Women weren't afraid to speak up for what's right..men were called out for their messiness..Teenagers FELT the need to express themselves from overbearing parents..I mean, it was so fundamental for that time and beyond..sure I agree with most of your points.. And like I said, Control was still the shit! Great overall album..
But I can't say that I feel Control "shaped the music industry" once it was released.. It shaped Janet's career from that moment forward, no doubt.. But up until its release, and even years before it, there were innumerable "feminist anthemic" hit songs.. Off the top of my head Chaka Khan comes to mind (I'm Every Woman), Gladys Knight (I Will Survive), Aretha Franklin (Respect) and etc and so on..
Sure, Control hit more of the younger generation at that time because Janet was young (like the black Taylor Swift of the mid-80's), but out of all of Janet's best albums, RN1814, TVR, Unbreakable and even janet. (even with all its filler tracks) would be a better candidate for AOTY.....imo

But it remains her only album nominated for AOTY. And rightfully so.
great songs, of course, but the subject matter on a lot of those tracks are not substantial enough to warrant such blanket praise that would come with an AOTY year win (or even nomination).. Songs like Control, PP, and even LWA could've been featured on RN1814 and pretty much fit the scope of the entire project..
But songs like Nasty (where she's singing about gross men) or WHYDFML (where she sings about not going to out to dinner anymore) don't sound like material worthy of such recognition..
in fact, I didn't even know that Control was even nominated for that category.. And if you had said only one album of hers had ever been nominated for AOTY, I would've easily presumed it to have been RN1814... An album that showed much more meaningful substance for an entire generation than the Control album did..
not that Control isn't the shit, cuz it is..

I am able to realize and a recognize when people I admire make mistakes.. I don't make excuses for them..
MJ was the leader of his own public demise, that much I do understand..
What I don't understand is how you can be so unable to pull away your Janet fan goggles and see things from an objective point of view..
if that's something you're unable to do, then yes you are clearly a sheep... Baaahh!!
