  1. As you guys have been stating, there have been so many things she could have done to lift this era up to a new level. Her lack of promo has been a huge mistake and I don't understand why her team hasn't forced her to correct this. When she announced the European dates, I was nervous for her (I saw something like this coming). I mean, she booked dates in places like Prague! Why?! Why would she do that? To not have toured arenas in Europe since the late 90's and then have announced all these dates at big arenas with no promo was such a bad move on her part.

Another thing, she really hasn't been communicating with fans. She usually just quotes her song lyrics and calls it a day. Why not actually speak to us through Q&As or discuss the album in-depth with Jimmy and Terry. I keep seeing all these articles of JJ&TL regurgitating the same story of how Control came to be which is so odd to me seeing as how we already know that story and they haven't really revealed anything we didn't know about Control's development. She didn't do anything for Control 30, so why would JJ&TL focus on that in interviews? Tell us more about all these songs on Unbreakable: the samples, the lyric concept, the theme, this "Conversation in a Cafe" which was dropped as a hashtag pretty early on in this era, I think.

I've read that she's gotten a new team since the #1's era. Maybe she should revamp her team again after this. Even after her missteps, I'll still be here for Janet's announcements, albeit with skeptical feelings. I am looking forward to this new video, hopefully the dancing, costumes and set design are all on-point

    nice read there.. Agree

I have the bitter shouda, coulda, woulda, stan in distress attitude. I hate being pissed off at Janet. But I really wish she would have performed at the BET awards. Can you imagine the hell she would've caused if she were to perform Burnitup at the BET awards?

Piggy backing off of that, I really wish she would have given Burnitup a proper video. Especially since the video for No Sleep was nothing to scream about. I think I wathed that video, a total of five times.

I would hav been satisfied, and defending her on here if she would have at least given us that, and a few promotional performances.

Now, I hope Damn Baby is colorful, and dance heavy. One of my biggest wishes would be if she would do a behind the scenes of Unbreakable. The creative process, studio sessions, etc... I also hope Janet does a few appearances, and performs. SNL would be awesome!

it's been so long since I've even thought about her possibly performing on the BET awards.. But yea what a kickoff this era that would have been.. Imagine the ticket sales after she straight KILLS it at the BET awards with a song like BIU or DB.. Comeback queen! At least the tour did relatively well here in the states (hard to hear for euro fans, I'm sure ?)

  2. I wish Janet would work with Saam again. His videos with his hero were priceless pieces of art!!

I also enjoyed both of his videos.. I think FB could've been a little better tho, at least more dancing and not so dark..

But I loved the vision he had and how it was high-tech but in a practical way.. I appreciated that contrast..

  3. gay dynamics are different from str8, for example I could ask what is a date? since its been that long...a lot of gay dudes hook up which means the intent is to screw at first meeting...and maybe never meet again.

Right now you could charm the pants off me by asking me to dinner....that's how bad it is out here, I can get sex all day but the worst thing is I don't get as excited anymore from just sex

I feel like when you talk sex gay vs. str8 is like apples and oranges, a woman controls the sex, if she says no the sex aint going down....two dudes though? they all about fucking so

    ok I see your point..

Take it like this then.. If you're looking for a LTR (not a one night stand), do you smash on the first date?

idk if that is any different but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say.. Obviously if you're on Tinder or Grindr and your patrolling for some sex, then I wouldn't necessarily consider that a "date"... But if your goal to find a partner/bf/gf would you be ok with giving it up day 1?

  4. What I think would be amazing FREE promo on her part is to maybe make a 2 minute video of her talking to the camera about every track from the album... Basically a "mini-StoryTellers" about how each song came to be, the motivation behind it, etc etc.. She could put a new video out daily or weekly and really spark up convos about the album again..

it is beyond me why she hasn't done anything like this.. Instead we get 15 second videos of her saying how excited she is to perform for fans all over Europe and then....well....ya know already..

  5. I understand both sides to this argument.. I know that it can mess up a new relationship, or even help it..

I'll start... I've definitely smashed on the first date a handful of times.. Some of em were just a one-time thing and never spoke to her after, and one of them I ended up marrying..

    who's next?

  6. The solo Wonder Woman movie is being filmed now. And it's set 40 years before superman batman. They are basically going backwards trying to rush Justice League. Solo movies after the big screen intros.

Personally I don't know if I want to see a Wonder Woman discovering the world of men story. If you are introducing her fully into her power just continue in the solo movie. But whatever. Either way they have to upgrade her villains to be interesting cause her roster is garbage. Bitch gonna be fighting cheetah or circe . I guess

from what I understand it actually takes place through hundreds of years... WW doesn't really age at all.. I think she's around 700-800 years old and the new WW movie coming out next year is majorly taking place around 1918 (world war 1 timeframe).. Her line in BvS where she tells Bruce at the end of the movie "100 years ago I gave up on humanity" is basically going to be fleshed out in the WW movie next year..

DC is doing the opposite of what Marvel did.. DC is introducing all their characters either in BvS or Justice Leage Part 1 coming November of next year also.. We'll see if it pays off, but I know damn well the little teases we got of The Flash and Aquaman (and even Cyborg) in BvS made me HELLA wanna see them in their own movies like yesterday!! So they got my money already, regardless!

  7. You know dictator, Gameshia Trump is not going to be able to resist. I don't even mind rebuttals. The problem is, people like Game, who immediately get snarky, and start calling us "fake fans" for not loving everything about this perfect era.

well hopefully we won't get called "fake fans" or whatever in here.. Here's to hoping that certain members won't even click on this thread knowing it's just going to be complaining.. It's a two-way street..

  8. Lol I'm just saying folks.. Obviously you can do whatever you want and post where ever you want.. But reading the suggestions that we need a venting thread led me to create this one..

I've already posted my feelings about the lack of promo.. it clearly shouldn't be any financial reasons that's stopping her from setting up a televised performance or interview, as some have suggested may be the case..

If Janet were slightly more transparent with her supporters then a lot of these feelings wouldn't be happening..

what are some other things that we (her fans) wish we could see her do?

  9. so I was reading in the "Secret Video Filmed?" thread how everyone was suggesting there should be a separate thread dedicated strictly to those of us who love/admire/appreciate/worship Janet but feel the need to express our opinions without worrying about our thoughts getting thrown back at us in a not-so-friendly way..

    This is that thread folks!

Here, we should able to express our not-so-popular (among certain members) points of views.. Hopefully those certain members will leave their rebuttals and opposing opinions out of this, so as to not create another revolving door of arguments/debates/etc..

To start this off, I'm going to re-post my most recent post I made in the aforementioned thread (if you've read it already, feel free to skip ahead and post your own rant):

(This is a looong post but it has a point!)

We're all YUUUUGE fans of Janet, otherwise we wouldn't be computer nerds and typing away on some internet messageboard stating how much we wish we (and everyone else we know) could see her more in the public spotlight..

I get that she wants/has to do things differently.. I get that.. I really do get that.. I totally get that..

My only legit question regarding the roll-out of this album/era is why isn't she able to do any type of formal promo? I get that she's not signed to a huge record company anymore...but ultimately she's a Jackson... A legend in the industry.. Someone who could still be a force to reckoned with..

Some think that she wouldn't be able to do a TV performance (Ellen, Kimmel, Fallon, etc) because she would have to pay for her dancers/crew and flights and hotels and all that.. But it's my understanding that these types of shows (the Ellens, Kimmels, Fallons, etc) that would actually be the ones paying the bill.. Whatever performance she did would be for their show, therefore, they would pay the expenses.. Hell, even guests that go on these talk shows for a 7 minute segments promoting some random cable show they're on get paid! Nobody does those shows for free...

And just to play devils advocate for a minute, even if Janet were the one who would have to pay the expenses of her crew/dancers/band/etc to perform on TV, wouldn't the return she would get most likely be worth the expenses? Meaning, if she went on Ellen to perform Dammn Baby and Ellen was all "nah Jan you pay for it all and we'll just broadcast it," the expectation would be that her performing would garner more public interest, therefore resulting in more album sales, therefore putting more money into Rhythm Nation Records'/Janet Jackson's pocket (therefore making said performance/expenses worth it)..

I know damn sure Janet Jackson didn't pay for anything that BET awards did for her when they gave her that award last year.. You know BET picked up the tab on that..

So, in the end, I can't help but wonder why she is refusing (if that's the case) to do any sort of promo.. It can't be for financial reasons as some have pointed out before.. I get the no interviews thing, although I'm sure people like Ellen or Fallon wouldn't start asking if she's Muslim or if her mom was kidnapped or if she hates the MJ Estate or whatever, so I guess I almost don't get the no interviews thing..

I think it all boils down to the fact that she isn't hungry anymore.. She point blank doesn't want to do any of these things anymore to help her brand.. She's over it.. She's only doing the tour to please her fans (and just that is a lot of work, I'm sure).. She put out her best album since TVR, but unfortunately it's most likely going to be one of those albums that are discovered by accident far down the road by most of the general public.. And I feel that's just too bad..

Still excited for the new video though.. Maybe once that comes out, she will try to relaunch this era and do things the old-fashioned way (at least a little)..

    FINGERS CROSSED!!

  11. Why is you playing?

    playing..??

He is the dark, brooding, violent Batman most fans of the character have been asking to have in film ever since The Dark Knight Returns story arc by Frank Miller came out in the 80's.. His take is inspired by that Batman ...

The general consensus among fans was that Ben was the best part of the entire film..

but you are entitled to your opinion..

  12. Ok so I was slightly disappointed with this movie... KEYWORD: "Slightly"...

dont get it twisted tho... I LIKED IT a lot! Can't say that I loved it though..

ben as batman was PERFECTION!! He fit the role like he was born to play Bruce Wayne/bats.. Every time batman was on screen I was on the edge of my seat..

Wonder Woman is so fkn hot! She can sit on my face with her Amazonian-700-year-old self! And she kicked major ass too!!

the negatives.. The first hour feels sooooo long imo.. Sure, I understand they have to set everything up but come on, I wanted more action! Lex was miscast (and I REALLY like Jesse esienberg!).. He didn't ruin the movie tho, just a curious choice.. Some are thinking he's not even the actual Lex Luthor, but more likely (SPOILER) his son.. Interestiiiing ?...

my only MAJOR problem this movie had was the fact that THE TRAILERS GAVE AWAY (almost) EVERYTHING!!! WW's entrance, Doomsday, the fact that Batman/Superman will team up, so much more..

they left so little to be surprised about.. Big mistake.. Imagine watching it with never seeing WW in action (her entrance would've been MUCH more powerful)..

ultimately, I liked it and ill be seeing it again soon...real soon... Like tonight soon prolly..

    I give it a 7.5/10..

PS - I wanted to see more Aquaman thoooo!! He looked dope!

  13. Not gonna lie, I'm worried folks... I knew it was going to be a congested sort of film just based on the amount of new characters being introduced and the building of a brand new cinematic universe, but I was hoping it would be all tied up in a ribbon by the end of the movie, but from the "non-spoiler" reviews I've read so far, it sounds like it leaves the viewer with more questions than answers and a weak setup for the Justice League movie...

But I will happily find out for myself tmrw morning!

  14. Whenever I think of Tidal, I think of how ridiculous that press conference was.... Especially everyone signing their names or whatever they did and how Madonna threw her leg up on the table.. Yea like let's help make these multi-multi millionaires even more $$!

    Nah I'm good..

    but maybe that's just me.
