  1. there is no sense of loyalty, it's a culture thing really, while young Whites are taught to carry on the traditions of the greats that came before and respect them, Black kids are not taught these same values, that's why it bothers me to have my mom ask for old music and I cannot find it in great quality because our music is not being preserved and some of it is lost. Meanwhile the Beatles are solid, Elvis will keep bringing in dollars, and even at a Madonna show the average fan is over 30 and then some. BUT the respect is there. Beyonce is on her hustle, her music sucks IMO, RiRi is really on her shit, her PR sucks but folks act like they forgot all Janet has done.

    NO

  2. When did this become a black and white thing?

I dont see how you all say black ppl BAIL on artists. When it comes to purchasing music...the buying public usually consists of more whites OVERALL anyway..so its only normal you're gonna see more of non blacks in attendance at a concert.

Look at neo soul acts. They still SELL OUT..so how do blacks bail?

I agree ... like do really expect a stadium in Norway to be filled with 3/4 Blacks .... urmm no

  3. My mother actually met Gaga in person last year walking around the wishire district in LA and my mother said she was very sweet and nice to the fans.

My mom called me and was like "guess who i met today? The girl who be wearing all them crazy hats!"

But yeah she said she seemed very sweet and she let people come up to her and everything. :good:

    LMAO

  4. You can see Gaga's work is demanding and when your headlining over 200 dates the pressure is on and it simply trickles down to everybody below her. At the same time nobody works for free so she's due her pay. Anyone with a brain who wants to be gagas assistant knows they will do more work than required. She's the worlds biggest star right now.

  5. The original is the best but I still love the duet version. I'll take Legend over Bieber anyday

    More great news... ^_^

Mariah Carey To Be Celebrated At The 2012 BET Honors

Written by Trent | Filed under Mariah Carey

After over 21 years since the beginning of her unbelievable recording career, Mariah Carey will finally receive the recognition that she deserves from the African American community when she is presented with a special tribute at the 2012 BET Honors ceremony. In fact, the top-selling diva will be celebrated at the event alongside her idol, Stevie Wonder.

Other public figures who will receive tributes for their lifetime achievement at the 2012 BET Honors event in February include poet Maya Angelou, director Spike Lee, the Tuskegee Airmen and track coach Beverly Kearney. Among the past honorees at the show were Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Tyler Perry and Mary J. Blige.

    —————————————————————

This is fantastic news! Few people have accomplished what Carey and the rest of the listed honorees have achieved throughout their careers so it is incredible to see that BET is finally ready to acknowledge their contributions to popular culture.

However, the question that will probably be on everyone’s minds is who will honor Carey? Jennifer Hudson and Kim Burrell performed renditions of Whitney Houston’s hits in her honor yet who has the vocal ability to tackle Carey’s catalogue? I vote for Leona Lewis to be on the roster to sing ‘Anytime You Need A Friend’ because that would make it a night to remember!

This is awesome! As for the tribute, Shanice would be one of my ideal choices. ^_^

THIS HAS WIG SNATCHER WRITTEN ALL OVER IT    GO'HEAD MIMI ! LEGEND

  6. Sammy Davis, Jr. once said that “everything Michael Jackson does on stage is exactly right.” The King of Pop indeed left some big leather loafers to fill, but judging by the crowd’s reaction at MGM’s Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour is doing an admirable job.

Among those in attendance for Saturday night’s performance: Cee Lo Green, as well as Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles. Seated within view of the reporters assembled to chronicle the show, the couple laughed and smiled as acrobats and dancers swirled across the stage–zombies popping out of coffins, contortionists emerging from giant books, even a performer dressed as a giant white glove–all while a live band blasted out the soundtrack beneath Jackson’s soaring vocals.

“We have all done our best to make this a celebration of his essence in his absence,” musical director Greg Phillinganes told me shortly after the show’s debut. “His passion for humanity … his commitment to excellence, his flair for the big show, we’ve tried to incorporate all those factors.”

Immortal is the highest-grossing live show in the country for the second week in a row, bringing in just shy of $2 million per night in Vegas. That’s over half a million dollars more than the next-highest earner, Taylor Swift, according to concert data provider Pollstar.

It’s all the more impressive given that the Jackson show has been parked at the 8,500-seat Mandalay Bay Theatre for much of December; Swift has been playing arenas more than twice that size, as Immortal will soon be doing when resumes its trek across the North America. An international leg is set to follow in late 2012.

A joint venture between the Michael Jackson estate and Cirque du Soleil, Immortal opened in October and is already approaching $100 million in ticket sales. That should come as no surprise, given the extraordinary spectacle that audiences witness with each performance.
