I don't see how anybody can argue against Jimmy and Terry being heavily involved in this new project ...y'all up here acting like Unbreakable wasn't her best album since 'All For You'...like JJ/TL are not a vital part of us stanning for the Queens timeless music...chile...

They should be, but not majority is all I’m saying

You could argue the the production was better than Unbreakable

    It’s not up for debate.

but they’re two different types of albums. UB’s biggest strength is it’s lyrical content and diversity. Caution, production.

I used the album as an example of mixing the modern with signature traits. That’s it.

I think the point is a producer being current or hot is irrelevant...it will either work (as it clearly does with JJ/TL) or not. Darkchild is one of the few times she stepped out and it worked so why anyone should be so against it I dunno. Its really subjective to be honest and this tired ass topic has been done to death

They can have all the chemistry in the world and still use old beats

exactly! Ain't nobody worried about him? When's the last time he produced something hot cause I ain't heard it :umm: She needs to work with Calvin Harris and/or David Guetta and pump out a few hot dance tracks

    Ew @ David Guetta.

But there’s A LOT of talent out there. Idc how any of you feel about Mariah Carey or ‘Caution’ but she managed to sound like classic Mariah but sound current. Lyric and content-wise Janet has it because she’s writing, but production-wise there’s significant room for improvement...but a lot fans seem to think that working with anyone besides JJ/TL is desperate and microwave music. It just shows their taste and how much they actually know about what’s out there. The point, for me, is that janet doesn’t even have to pander to the commercial side...I just want an updated sound.

No one really wanted an EP anyway. I think I can speak on behalf of all the fans when I say that we prefer Janet taking like 6 months more to release an entire album instead of just 6-7 songs.

I was cool with an EP

It's so interesting seeing Janet learn a routine in her early career. She did make mistakes here which immediately stuck out to me because I'm so used to Janet always being perfect. Looking at this, it's amazing how much progress she had made in terms of choreography, confidence and overall dance ability by Rhythm Nation, just 3 years later.

I saw Janet mess up numerous times and having to be corrected by Paula. Janet started off with the wrong hand which is why she apologized and Paula said “it’s okay.” At 0:10 she wasn’t supposed to put both hands on her head, one was supposed to be on her hip, which is why Janet said “oh shoot.” At 0:30 Paula has to correct Janet by saying “audience,” meaning look at the audience when you dance. She was looking down while dancing which is one of the biggest no-nos in dance. At 0:42 Janet’s legs were too spread apart. The weight is supposed to be evenly distributed on both legs. That’s easily 4 mistakes Janet made in this one sequence. And when you look at the finished product you see how Janet listened to Paula’s advisement. Janet’s was literally 19 here. The arrogance to suggest she danced better than someone older and had been professionally trained for 20 years at that point.🙄
