  1. I don't know if this is what Vaquero meant but Geri was the focal point of the image of The Spice Girls, tho she definitely is the least talented (which I don't know if that applies with Harry & 1 direction, like from what I hear he's also the most talented), but Harry definitely is in terms of looks the way Ginger was.

    I wasn't referring talent wise

    but popularity

Geri was the most popular one of the group

and from what I have seen, Harry is the most popular one from One Direction

When  Geri left, it was the downfall of the Spice Girls.  With Zayn leaving, its hard to say how the rest of their tour and their albums will sell

  2. One Direction's Zayn Malik Officially Leaves Group

Zayn Malik has officially left One Direction. The band made the announcement on their Facebook account on March 25, one week after he made headlines for leaving their current tour due to "stress."

The band notes they will continue on as a "four-piece."

You can read the full statements, including a statement from Malik, below.

"After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year."

Zayn added, "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

One Direction released their own statement: "We're really sad to see Zayn go, but we totallyrespect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we've gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We're looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour."

As did Simon Cowell, who discovered the band on X Factor UK. "I would like to say thank you to Zayn for everything he has done for One Direction," he said in a statement. "Since I first met Zayn in 2010, I have grown very, very fond - and immensely proud - of him. I have seen him grow in confidence and I am truly sorry to see him leave. As for One Direction, fans can rest assured that Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band."

I know we have a few 1D fans in the group so wanted to know your thoughts. Personally tho I don't consider myself a fan I must say they do have good music and are at least talented. But I don't know them well enough to really know of his importance, so I ask the fans here, is this like The Spice Girls losing Ginger in that he was a focal piece of the image and it can end up hurting their popularity, basically do you think this'll matter for them or will this have a impact on them?

To me at least 1 D fans had him for 4 albums. I tell you right now I wish Ging waited until album #5 before leaving, ugh #DontEvenGetMeStarted :filenails:

I think Harry is the Ginger one of the group.  Meaning he is the focal point of the group as Geri was.

  3. Geri had said that the group got too big too fast.  She craved the fame way more than the other girls.  Granted, the other girls wanted the fame too, but Geri "needed" it more.  Even after she left, she kinda turned looney just to stay in the spotlight.

She was the leader in the beginning, but once the girls became global, each member started to gain their confidence as businesswomen/artists and Geri said herself that she felt they didn't need her any more.

Zayn wasn't the leader of the group and I don't think he craved the spotlight the way Geri did.  Geri still wanted to be in the spotlight and Zayn wants to just go away.

  4. I want one!

well I should say that I like the IDEA of one but I am very indecisive

Being a chef, I wanted to get one culinary related. But it seems every chef has one like that and getting a chef's knife, chef tools, food tatted is already outdated.

I thought about getting Salinas on me, but I cannot stand people telling me ANYTHING FOR SALINAAAAAS!!! if I were to show it to people

  5. According to a well-placed source, Janet Jackson is leading the race to become Time magazine's Person of the Year in 2015. But while the singer's fans are thrilled with the news, many people hold a very different opinion.

UPDATE 16/02/2015 : This story seems to be false. (read more)

Why not Jackson for Person of the Year?

The list of nominees for Time magazine’s Person of the Year is always an eclectic mix of world leaders, pop culture icons, buzzworthy names, and human rights activists. The unexpected inclusion of the 48-year-old singer, as a 2015 nominee has therefore sparked controversy and debate.

“What makes Jackson so important is the potential and influence she now has, rather than anything she has already done,” said a panelist who preferred to remain anonymous, adding that earlier this month, the singer have already been named ‘American Of The Year’ by some major American newspapers and even ‘Gary Citizen Of The Year’ by the readers of a local gazette in Gary (Janet Jackson's hometown).

Social Reactions to TIME’s Person of the Year

A representative for the singer was not immediately available for comment, but the announcement generated immediate reaction on Twitter:

“Janet Jackson Named Person of the Year Is No ‘Surprise’.”

    — @TheNewsEditor, 15 Feb 2015

“Great choice! Long overdue recognition for his talents. #LoveJanet”

    — @BarbaraHeyboer, 15 Feb 2015

“Past recipients include Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler ... then why not Janet Jackson?”

    — @TheClassicObserver, 15 Feb 2015
    :umm:

Could 2015 officially be the Year of Janet Jackson?

Still, TIME’s editors will make the final decision about who will grace the magazine’s cover as its 2015 Person of the Year.

  6. Made it :). I put it on high heat and browned it all over and then lowered it to a medium flame, covered it and allowed it to simmer in it's own water it produced for a while. It cooked all the way through but was a little chewy. Is that normal for beef? I've never cooked or eaten beef until this week lol.

You could of cooked it a little longer. But yes beef can get chewy sometimes
