Thanks for the post.

... I'm reserving judgement.

I think I can speak for most fans in saying her religious beliefs past, present and future are irrelevant to us.

Janet's accountants are out in full-force here, it seems...

She didn't. You all THOUGHT she was going to releasing multi-videos... On an independent budget. Talk about delusional
Im not even referring to a multitude of videos, even though they just shelved Dammn Baby.
I'm sure her barely-there promo was dictated by a slim budget. What exactly was this new movement? What's next for Rhythm Nation Records? Why did she cancel iHeart radio again...? Ah yes, it's costly.
She practically just cancelled her funding mechanism for it all(the tour) because this whole time she was secretly planning a family. Look, I'm happy for her (a great #1album & a baby) -- but this era was piss-poor in terms of management/organization.

Ok, we get it. Janet's on a shoestring budget this era... She shouldn't have hyped it up from the start, having her/her team writing checks her ass can't cash.

Sad that Janet's distance and vague statements have left us guessing, perhaps indefinitely... Maybe she wants her fans in the dark as much as possible? At first I thought it was intriguing -- a bit of mystique. Now, it just feels shady and unprofessional on her part.

... I always knew Janfam were low-key freaks.

some acts get nominated over and over and never get in....Im talking like 10 times ....this year Tupac will be eligible and he's sooo in
Not convinced onTupac. Hes deserving though. Doubt hell be nominated this year. When he is, it's a done deal.
Janet's just had a #1album, they should respect her longevity & staying power.

Nice article. Gotta love Stevie. I'm actually feeling optimistic about her odds this year... Question is, would she show up?

Beyonce doesn't need to be MLK. She's a fucking legend and we are lucky to be living in her era.
Sorry, I didn't mean to slight your lord & savior...

Choice of words.
Yes, ironic with her announcement..Of course nothingmeant by it. Thanks for pinting it out -- a real saver you are.

I can't believe she's gonna give us nothing until maybe next year. She made a big deal at the outset that this era is for the fans. If so, it doesn't speak well of how she views them. Getting the silent treatment, indefinite postponements, and the bare minimum in terms of an era before being aborted.

Umm Beyonce's tour is supporting the Flint water crisis so I'm assuming that means a certain % will go towards that cause. That shows commitment to me.
Signing a check, or addressing these grave issues just when its time to make your grand return to the spotlight doesnt display that kind of commitment. By all means, what she's doing for Flint should be lauded -- let's see where her commitment is in a couple years. She's no MLK, and the fact that I have to be defend that statement is troubling.

That's not evolution. You realize what you said is why this era has gone the way it has. You kind of proved my point. Thank you. Her husband is running thangs but like I said before I knew that when she had her backed turned at her birthday party in Paris.
I call what is happening in Mississippi problematic but others call it a joyous tradition. So no one should tell those people in Ole Miss to change their no gays allowed law then since its their tradition. All those protestors should just go back home. Those people in Ole Miss love their tradition and feel whole with them. Thats what you just said.
Martin Luther King wasn't a politician either. He didn't rule over any laws and neither did anyone following him but they did not stand for it. Nothing you mention can compare. Beyonce has spoken out against flint. 50 cents has visited jails along and spoken about jails being over populated with black men. Again you can show me the whole constitution. We still have the right to say no and contest these laws. No lies are being told here. You want to defend this so much because this is Janet related. Wrong is wrong and standing by wrong and not speaking against whats wrong is even worse. Imagine how that woman he fired is living now with herself. Knowing she was raped and cant do shit about it because of law. Man made law.
Please...50 and Beyonce have shown no real commitment to these issues. Where are they now? Dont put them in the same breath as MLK jr. Can't believe I just read that...

You know things are bad when people start re-litigating Nipplegate.

I dont think her team is the problem, you can have the best team on Earth money can buy, if you're the star player and you won't play what difference does that make?
Don't get me wrong. Its clear she's lost her fire. Maybe Janet's the type that needs a label exec breathing down her neck, pressuring her to deliver. We may never know if they had a clear plan. The execution was half-hearted to say the least.
The next big date is her 50th next month, and maybe we'll hear from her then. I have no further expectations for her, apart from well wishes for this next chapter in her life, motherhood.

One of her sexiest songs, imo

Janet needs to fire her whole team and stop this distant, cute act. Fans have a right to be disappointed & disgruntled. In one word, this Era has been Unprofessional, not Unbreakable. Hopefully she does have a baby, because the premise Dal put forth is troubling, to say the least. Not arranging a process for refunds before announcing the "sudden" change is a fitting end to this Era. Mess.

Janet retiring to Vegas SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Let that be for artists who can't tour

Another reason I don't take the Grammys seriously -- No AOTY nomination for Rhythm Nation?! Yet we all know what overrated crap won it this year...

totally get what you're saying.. But idk I still feel like the name "Janet" is somewhat unique.. It's not "Sally" or "Linda" or "Maggie".. Growing up Janet was the only Janet I had ever heard of.. And then when I actually met another Janet in real life, I was thrown for a loop lol..
Agree. It isn't the most common name, I think if her profile were raised this past decade -- maybe. But she's too low-key imo.
