50 Cent has announced that he will release a new single called ‘New Day’ that will feature Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre. In an interview with Digital Spy, Fiddy revealed the title of the song and its release date, which is July 24.

In late June, Alicia Keys dropped a song for her fans called ‘New Day’ but never confirmed if the uptempo track will appear on her upcoming fifth disc. But it looks like Keys’ tune could end up on 50 Cent’s song.

We kind of agree with Idolator that if Keys did give 50 Cent the hook for his new track, it wouldn’t be an unheard of move. In 2009, Alicia Keys appeared on Jay-Z‘s New York anthem ‘Empire State of Mind’ and then released a piano-driven version of the same track called ‘Broken Down’ on her album ‘Element of Freedom.’ Or, this 50 Cent single could simply be an entirely new song with a new hook and with different instrumentation. We will just have to find out on July 24.

In the meantime, 50 also released the cover art of the single on his Twitter account with the caption, “Coming Soon.” The artwork features a backdrop of a sunrise overlooking a bench on the boardwalk.

50 Cent’s ‘New Day’ is the kick-off single to his upcoming album ‘Street King Immortal,’ which is due out in November on Interscope. “I’m excited about this project,” he tells Digital Spy. “It took a lot longer than it would have had to take, as far as creatively, but the process of going through all of this and being at the end of the contract. It’s a headache, but it worked itself out.”
