She won't even deliver more than two videos per era but y'all want all this other stuff

With the preparation time and money she accumulated with last 2 tours, residency and anniversary concerts, she NEEDS to give us at least 4 singles/videos.  2 dance, 1 mid-tempo and 1 ballad, thank you!!! Yeah, yeah, fat chance!!! 🤣🤪🤦🏾‍♂️💀

You care to much darling. Lower your expectations or don't have any. You want me to send you one of Janets generic inspirational quotes?

No thank you, I’ve been watering my spiritual garden all year with all this bullsh!t. 😝Also, I have no expectations anymore when it comes to Janet, I just don’t find her teasing exciting anymore given this year as a whole. That’s what I mean. I just don’t care about the album anymore. 🤷🏾‍♂️

the want 5 singles, all top ten hits, 5 million sold first week, 6 music videos, and a sold out Europe leg   How bout a two piece and a biscuit

😨😨😨 Whoever wants all that doesn’t exist, are you ok??? 👀

  3. Janet needs to pull a Mariah and do her own rarities type of release. I still think What Can I Say, Clap Your Hands, Could This Be Love and Put it On you are some of the best songs she recorded at that time and the fact they didn’t even make the album cut!!! Yeah, Janet was creatively vacant during that time in her career! Wow! 🤨☹️👀🤦🏾‍♂️💀

I think we should confine the discussion to the Janet albums that are highly regarded, in this case Control to AFY, it's a losing proposition to talk about the post SB work, we all know those did not hold up well, with the exception of "Unbreakable" still a very good album and Damita Jo a good album too

Well then that excludes Damita Jo since it’s never been acclaimed or highly regarded outside the fanbase. In fact, this unnecessary attachment to this album by the fanbase is STILL staggering. I still find it hilarious that Damita Jo, 20 Y.O. and Discipline are practically interchangeable in terms of quality but Damita Jo was terribly underrated and overshadowed because of the Super Bowl fiasco. All a retread about sex, all a retread about her ex’s, all a retread with the generic love songs, wash, rinse, repeat. Even Jimmy has said Janet came into the studio and didn’t even want to write but told Terry to write something for Damita Jo.  Jimmy was shocked and said, “Why are we even making an album then???” His words, not mine. 😅😂🤷🏾‍♂️ But do u boo. 😎👍❤️

Early next year would be much earlier than I expect(ed), but it seems kind of realistic. Cincinatti Festival she was supposed to perform at has been rescheduled to July '21, so if the vaccines are moving along well, a world tour starting next Summer MIGHT be possible. Album release in Spring or early Summer would be great in that case! 😁🖤

Lol I heard about the rescheduled dates but not holding my breath!!! 2020 has sucked all my hope and enthusiasm for her album/tour.

    You did.

"It justwasn't as huge as RN or Control, and its imagery isn't as iconic, so it's harder to place in her cannon of essentials."

This is why TVR isn't ranking next to RN1814 or Control. Not only were they much more successful, but they're herald as Janet's signature albums. And dare we not even talk about significance.

Yes it is! With both those albums on Rolling Stone’s Greatest Albums of all time. 🙄🙄😲 Not to mention numerous other best albums of all time lists! In fact, the biggest highlights have always been showcased by Control, RN and TVR in terms of her timeless impact on pop culture history! Janet. may be her beat selling album but that era is comparable to the inventive reinventions of those eras clearly.

I recall the era as really cementing Janet as someone to stay in the game, Control, while a hit, some said it was a "one off"  what RN did was show how much more Janet was capable of. The evidence later came with her record breaking deal with Virgin records, making her the highest paid music artist at the time.

I remember that entire album was in very heavy rotation on the radio, she won, as we know, a slew of awards. Janet did that -_-  I don't think many female artists had the diverse audience nor reach Janet achieved. Off the heels of RN and signing with Virgin, Janet had a ton of pressure to deliver, which is why we have the over produced filler filled album simply titled Janet. :coffee:

Up until that Janet. Shade.....ur just asking for a 2020 level rude awakening!!! 😧😮😲😡🙂

  8. But the thing is....THIS IS DONALD TRUMP!!!! The dumbest, most disrespectful n unqualified president in our history. He is not only racist, sexiest, xenophobic, homophobic, etc. He’s a liar!!! But then again most if not all politicians are! Donald Trump is a tyrant/cult leader to the mentally insane, diplomatically depraved and inescapably hate filled society continuing to damage this country since its inception. Honestly, Biden/Harris are much MUCH more qualified despite how it won’t be much of a difference given our country before the Obama days. Then again change is this country’s biggest problem. How a man like Donald Trump got into office in the first place and has been there for 4 years is just exposing how incomprehensibly evil this country has always been. So any type of support behind him is not only soul crushing and mind damaging but completely disregards anything of value you have to say. I’m sorry....🤦🏾‍♂️💀

  9. Last night, I dreamt Janet FINALLY released her first single with Bruno Mars and it was called....”Killing It!” 👀🧠👀 Also the new album was also available on Apple Music for pre-order and it was renamed “Artist” with insane visuals!!! The first video with Bruno was like a complete acid trip with Janet spotting green hair and some amazing fashion!!! ......yeah, I’m going crazy now!!! 🙂🤪😫😭🤦🏾‍♂️💀

I already know she's versatile and that's one of the many reasons everybody loves her but don't go around saying she has more power in her voice now when she doesn't. You said she was timid and that just simply not true and yes Jimmy did say she was never satisfied. Damita Jo wasn't embarrassing. It was actually good and so were he vocals. "I Want You" which got her nominated for a grammy for best vocal  , "Island Life", "Like You Don't Love Me", and even on "SloLove" she hit high notes so disappointment where? :umm:  Now Discipline i'll agree with.

......the album that also features “Warmth” and “Moist”......😐😐😐 ”My Baby”=Rainy Afternoon vocals.... And yes, it’s ok to admit Janet was timid because she is a perfectionist and is always hard on herself when it came to her voice. Doesn’t mean she doesn’t make the effort, just not as much as she can. 🤔👍❤️

hmm nah Janet was never too timid to sing full out on songs cause she's done it plenty of times. She was just always insecure about her voice not being big but she's definitely sung full out and yes we all know about how she uses her voice and harmonies. I love the Unbreakable album and as far as content it's definitely one of her better albums. I feel on that album she barely sang in her higher tone which is when she always sounds better

I said she was timid about it, not that she never did. Didn’t Jimmy say, Janet was often never satisfied by her vocals and would be like, “that was alright...” We know she can sing full on like Rhythm Nation, Together Again and All For You but let’s be real, Damita Jo-Discipline were vocally embarrassing at times. That infamous whisper voice ran rampant because she wasn’t inspired with no passion behind it. Songs like “Unbreakable” and “Broken Hearts Heal” do show her higher range while “After You Fall” and “Gon B Alright” were vocally eclectic! The raw emotion behind those vocals were stunning!  So many deep tones and vocal shifting. I know you prefer her singing high but like I said, I prefer her versatility over high notes like Whitney and Mariah all the time. Not many artist can do that at all.
