They hand Grammy's out like tea cakes today. It's lost credibility a long time ago. If you think a couple of Grammy's for him means something major, then you're discrediting his legacy and achievements.

But TBQFH, Usher has not did anything groundbreaking to warrant such a prestigious honor.  And as Effram has pointed out, his live performances at awards shows have been lackluster at best.

I don't think that Beyonce should get a pass as a celebrity.  People talk about other celebrity parents parental skills all the time.  This wasn't a dig at Blue. It was a dig at Beyonce and Jay-Z.  Was it a bit offensive -- yes, but a lot of jokes are. It's no different than if David Letterman did a top 10 of things Michael Jackson kids thought while on the trip to the zoo and said "I can't see anything because I have to wear these burqa's over my head."  but the difference is that everyone would laugh and not think anything of it.  I think people need to stop being so sensitive about Beyonce or celebrities in general.  If we can pay them hundreds of millions of dollars, they can take a joke or two of public scrutiny.

I agree that Chris's girl handled the situation terribly.  As you stated she could have grew a backbone and said I'm not saying this joke. However, she could have also grew a backbone and just apologized, if she felt the need to, without throwing her employer under the bus.  By placing the blame on some unidentifiable BET producer/intern/worker, it basically throws a red flag up not only to that network but to other networks as well that as a personality when she comes under a little bit of fire, she won't be able to take it and will turn on them.  Either route requires her to have a backbone, which she clearly doesn't have and which is why she will be relegated to being Chris' down bitch.

Finally, I think that 106 and Park is still a much needed vehicle on BET, much like I think new programming such as The Keke Palmer show is needed. I don't particularly think that 106 and Park was ever really about the videos like TRL was as much as it was a microcosm of a  particular section of African American culture. Such a vehicle is needed particularly in light of issues in race so that they can be discussed in a format that is geared towards a younger audience.  I know that as a student in boarding school I was religious about watching 106 and Park.  I had an agreement with the white girls, I watched 106 & Park uninterrupted; they watched ANTM and The Notebook and Mean girls on endless loop uninterrupted. 

How ironic is it that now Nicki stans want to disrespect & discredit features when they were worshiping them  so very recently   Oh the irony. 

 

Nothing to be mad about, shitty artist based on gimmicks and shitty music based on gimmicks has gone on to be hits and popular long before Nicki and it will happen to other acts long after she is telling her story to Unsung and trying to figure out what went wrong

I found it ironic that those discrediting features are so hype that Iggy has hits thanks to her featured artist but yet were so quick to discredit Nicki.  I'm sure y'all are steaming that there is no ground to discredit her recent chart success on.

I see where you're going but i disagree. J-lo and beyonce already pushed that point, and both did it with better videos and music. Nicki's buzz singles  weren't creating any buzz so she pulled out her best "assets" and now she's the hype. From a business standpoint she was smart....i guess. artistically not so much. Ultimately the song and video are a send up to "Baby got back" which actually lyrically took to task the ideal standard of beauty. Nicki's video is still the objectification of women, which is an old hip hop standard and cliche. If she really wanted to flip the script she would have made a video objectifying male body parts. Especially since the song is called ANACONDA.

This doesn't make sense.  The song is talking about the lure of big booties, not the lure of the anaconda.  Sometimes you can't judge a book by it's cover. 

100% TRUTH, least the stans forget how many 1st Singles turned into "buzz" singles with her this year. It's just what we talked about that J.Lo use to bank off of, the samples of old school classics, that's automatically gonna get attention. Well played, bad song, but well played move.

Nicki's single choices have been horrid for this album.  But let's be factual, she's only had two singles for this album -- both actual singles.  Pills N Potions and Anaconda and I hear one is number 2 on the charts without any features. 

I know you are a Nicki hater but you don't have to make fact up to justify your hatred. If you're mad, you're mad. 

This song is a flop.  Shame on his team. 

If Beyonce was not well.. Beyonce but an ordinary person who spent a large amount of money on getting her hair done fresh every day but let their baby's hair go unkempt they would get dragged. So, people need to learn how to take a joke.

There's a way to go natural and not be neglectful.

I don't see the problem either way. Most artists rehash their tour for a special performance. It's a nice summary for someone unable to attend her concert

It's not a problem, at least for me anyways.  Beyonce fans just try to pretend everything she's doing brand new when everything down to the lighting and props are the same.

 

And considering you didn't go on the tour, why does it bother you that she borrowed a chair from it? I'd get it if you had gone to it and wanted something else . Only people who went to the tour or took the time to YouTube her would find some of it familiar...everyone else should be clueless

Well if she continuously does uses the same elements from her tour with very little tweaking, then yes -- it is recycled.
