    You did.

This is why TVR isn't ranking next to RN1814 or Control. Not only were they much more successful, but they're herald as Janet's signature albums. And dare we not even talk about significance.

They are definitely her signature albums. But TVR is just as acclaimed and just as influential. We are talking about different things.

Never. Fans just give it too much.

    You just proved my point.

But it's really not. :lmao: Control and RN1814 are herald as Janet's signature albums. They considerably supersede TVR in success, influence, and significance.

No, I didn't. Imagery and success don't always impart more influence. Janet is her most successful album, after all. Does that make it more influential than the other three?

That exactly how I read it before going back and correcting myself. :lmao:

I keep trying to tell ppl these are her most celebrated albums. One day they'll see the light. -_-

Girl, TVR is put up there with them by critics and by the artists it influenced. Tons of people in R&B and pop have called it out for shaping their tastes and ambitions in music, and its influence is obvious on albums like Stripped, Britney, M!ssundaztood, Rated R, etc. It just wasn't as huge as RN or Control, and its imagery isn't as iconic, so it's harder to place in her cannon of essentials... but it is definitely next to the other two in terms of reverence.

The graphics and screens for SOTW are, oh I don't know, 1,000 times better than what was used for the UCAP. The video dedication before the show started was barely, if even hi-def (at least it seems that way at the Chicago stop). But the ones she's touring with now are crystal clear and make the biggest difference.

It's funny, I know there's not much a set on the stage (no offense to those light boxes on either side), but I don't think of it as being scaled back as a whole. The screens are so big! The choreography is so major! She does costume changes! (And not a single pair of drop-crotch pants grace the stage...hehe) Because they put so much extra effort into these details, I really didn't miss any of those extras like fireworks or levels on the stage. And i don't think I'd change a thing.

Exactly, this is stage simple and elegant and effective, much like Rhythm Nation. It totally works for her, but I'm also down for a more vivid and eclectic staging for the next tour, and I think she will head in that direction if the video set is any indication.

I hate the idea of pitting Janet's songs and or albums against each other, because if you think about it, each represents, as they always did, what was going on in her life at the time. I think DJ was chopped and pasted due to record label control in order to respond to the SB. 20YO was uninspired she didnt have anything to say and I truly believe it was about fulfilling contract obligations. "Discipline" was an attempt at a different group of producers and a change in management I believe at the time it demonstrates how lost Janet may have been in the business.

Now having said that, every last single one of those albums has something on them that is classic Janet that as a diehard fan I am glad those songs exist and wouldnt have it any other way. Without struggle there can be no triumph, no growth, no learning from mistakes of the past.

Enjoy, Take Care, Feedback, All Nite (Don't Stop), Spending Time With You, Island Life, SloLove, What's Your Name, With You  .....none of these would exist and I love them

Gwarl DJ was done and dusted before the SB ever happened, bank on it. I remember Janet saying it took the longest of any other album to record at the time, correct me if I'm wrong.

Those songs you listed would've made an amazing comeback album ? Too bad we got all the filler with them!

    DJ >>>>> 20 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Discipline btw
