Rolling Stone... RN had a ton of impact on music video imagery and people are STILL aping it. But the RS cover is only associated with Janet. When people copy it, they're called out for it, and parodies are still done with some frequency. The RN video isn't as remembered for being a Janet video to the general public.

OMG! Get out of my head! We are forever on the same page when it comes to Madonna. I felt the exact same way when I saw the performance, i wasnt very impressed with it either. I love me some Madonna and I KNOW that she can do better than that.

But yeah. I'm actually a bit annoyed by all the praise she's getting. BEYONCE STANS have been praising her performance. At least on ATRL. Didn't think I'd live to see that and now that I do I'm angry about it?!

Nicki's got hyped for being awful. Madonna's song had zero hype, but then when the video preview came out people were suddenly interested, and the video release has given it a huge (positive) boost.

People will hate on Madonna no matter what she does. That's like being surprised when Internet people "hate" a new Beyoncé song/video/album.

She doesn't really do anything for me either way. I love the live versions of "Video Games" with the fuller arrangement, but the album as a whole is a bore and I can't listen to more than one song of hers at a time without getting sad/pissed off.

She's really testing me this year. The bitchy comments (not just towards Janet). The desperation to look young and be current. The insofar unimpressive music. If she can't top HC then it will be a sad day indeed.

You could say she "has nothing to prove anymore," but I think that's bullshit. I'm not going to support her if she doesn't do something worth supporting.

But why does a huge artist have to do everything? Quality control is vital. If I did everything, my artistry and music would become diluted. Performances and interviews travel globally and instantly nowadays because of YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and blogs. I'd be repeating myself and be overexposed if I did every TV and every magazine cover I was given the opportunity to do. I don't change up my style, and live, it just is what it is. I only do things I like as well, TV shows I watch and publications I read. I won't do something simply because I should, so I'll sell a few more records.

She has a way with words... I think she's brilliant.

She will really go far. She's going to last, this one.

Janets career is in much better shape right now.

Nutisystem is americas fastest growing business, and as spokesperson, the exposure janet is getting is putting her on the tv screens of every american household.

Also why do fans forget/not acknowledge the following. Since the VMA performance in 09, janet career has been active, with movies, tours, books and endorsements. This without an album. This is an amazing feat. Find me another singer that has received as much exposure as janet outside an album era. And yet we await a new movie and album from her anyway.

In the context of a 30 year career (of both madonna and janet), janets career at this point is in much better shape, at present and going forward.

Anyway, who cares, most people cant stand madonna, ala the audience of the golden globes.

If it were janet up there ull know they would be standing clapping and feeling happy for her.

That to me is worth more than another award credit for dumb fans to use as ammo against people that actually admire talented performers.

How could you possibly say Janet's career is in better shape than Madonna's? Madonna stepped off a $400M+ grossing tour a year and a half ago, the highest-grossing of all time for a solo artist! She's about to promote her new song at the super bowl and it will undoubtedly be another worldwide #1 for her. Not to mention, Celebration, her third greatest hits compilation, sold five times as much as Number Ones in 2009.

Janet is on the rebound, but nobody can compete with Madonna's longevity and utter domination. Nobody.
