I saw a commercial for the album last night during SNL. 

He's the one who first said that Janet was working on a new project... It was in an interview with some sound engineer trade magazine that he probably thought no one outside that trade would read. But all major pubs picked it up, and that's the reason why Janet came out and squashed the rumor with "if there's a new project, you'll hear it from my lips." 

We we were wondering if that got him in trouble and off the project. Glad Janet isn't vindictive. Haha. 

Hahaha. Yeah, why couldn't she do that in one take?!? But always happy to actually see her and hear her talking to the fans :)

The comparisons are envitable. And I don't mind it when she comes out on top....which duh. 

This album really is a masterclass at being a pop/r&b star at 49 and not chasing trends. Of course they're gonna mention the ones who are doing it wrong by pointing out how Janet's doing it so right.

I haven't listened to it yet (can't stop Dammn Baby from repeat), but it's cool to reaffirm that she's influenced so many different kinds of artists/musicians.

I've also noticed that they're playing her stuff in my cycling/gym classes way more often (heard Throb in Spin today). She's on everyone's minds these days.

what does she say (whisper/speak) at the very end of the song? Something about being happy makes you so sad?

If the whole song sounded like that first snippet, I don't know if I'd be feeling it. But luckily she took that song to some amazing places. That sneeze!

Dammn Baby has been stuck in my head the most so far. Can totally see this one getting a lot of play on the radio.
